Behold, the land of the Chaldeans: this people was not; the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness; they set up their towers; they overthrew the palaces thereof; they made it a ruin.

Behold¹ the landª of the Chaldeans;ª this¹ peopleª was¹ not,¹ [till] the Assyrianª foundedª° it for them that dwell in the wilderness:ª they set upª° the towersª thereof, they raised upª° the palacesª thereof; [and] he broughtª° it to ruin.ª

Behold,¹ the landª of the Caldeans,ª this¹ peopleª was¹ not¹ [till] the Assyrianª foundedª° it for them that dwel in the wildernesse:ª they set vpª° the towersª thereof, they raised vpª° the palacesª thereof, [and] he broughtª° it to ruine.ª

And [if thou depart] to the land of the Chaldeans, this also is laid waste by the Assyrians, for her wall is fallen.

Behold¹ the landª of the Caŝdîm כַּשׂדִּים;ª this¹ peopleª was¹ not,¹ [till] the ´Aššûr אַשּׁוּרª foundedª° it for them that dwell in the wilderness:ª they set upª° the towersª thereof, they raised upª° the palacesª thereof; [and] he broughtª° it to ruin.ª

hën eretz Kas'Diym zeh hääm lo häyäh aSHûr y'šädäH l'tziYiym hëqiymû *v'chiynäyw [vachûnäyw] or'rû ar'm'nôteyhä sämäH l'maPëläh
