And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah our God done all these things unto us? then shalt thou say unto them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

And it shall come to pass,¹ when¹ ye shall say,ª° Whereforeªª doethª° the LORDª our Godª¹ all¹ these¹ [things] unto us? then shalt thou answerª°¹ them, Like¹ as ye have forsakenª° me, and servedª° strangeª godsª in your land,ª so¹ shall ye serveª° strangersª° in a landª [that is] not¹ yours.
