For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye saw it, did not even repent yourselves afterward, that ye might believe him.

For Juchanon came to you in the way of righteousness; and you believed him not. But the tribute-takers and harlots believed him: but you neither when you saw (him, nor) afterwards, repented, that you might believe him.

ἦλθεν γὰρ Ἰωάνης πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν ὁδῷ δικαιοσύνης, καὶ οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ: οἱ δὲ τελῶναι καὶ αἱ πόρναι ἐπίστευσαν αὐτῷ: ὑμεῖς δὲ ἰδόντες οὐδὲ μετεμελήθητε ὕστερον τοῦ πιστεῦσαι αὐτῷ.

It-had-came therefore, an-Ioanes, toward to-ye in unto-a-way of-a-course-belongedness, and not ye-trusted-of unto-it; the-ones moreover finish-purchasers and the-ones harlots they-trusted-of unto-it; ye moreover having-had-seen not-moreover ye-were-concerned-with-unto to-latter of-the-one to-have-trusted-of unto-it.
