And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.

Andª the¹ kingª wasª° exceeding sorry;ª [yet] for² his oath's sake,ª¹ andª for their sakes which² sat with¹ him,²° he wouldª° notª rejectª° her.ª

And greatly grieved was the king; but, for the sake of the oath, and the sake of the guests, he could not deprive her.

And it pained the king greatly; yet, on account of the oath, and on account of the guests, he would not deny her:

καὶ περίλυπος γενόμενος ὁ βασιλεὺς διὰ τοὺς ὅρκους καὶ τοὺς ἀνακειμένους οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἀθετῆσαι αὐτήν:

And saddened-about having-had-became, the-one a-ruler-of, through to-the-ones to-fencees and to-the-ones to-situating-up, not it-determined to-have-un-placed-unto to-it.
