[It is] as [when] a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.

[For the Son of man is] asª a manª taking a far journey,ª who leftª° his²¹ house,ª andª gaveª° authorityª to his²¹ servants,ª andª to every manª his²¹ work,ª andª commandedª° the¹ porterª toª watch.ª°

[For the Sonne of man is] asª a manª taking a farre iourney,ª who leftª° his²¹ house,ª andª gaueª° authorityª to his²¹ seruants,ª andª to euery manª his²¹ worke,ª andª commandedª° the¹ porterª toª watch:ª°

For as a man who hath journeyed, and left his house, and hath given authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and the door-keeper he hath instructed to be watchful;

For it is as a man, who took a journey, and left his home; and he gave authority to his servants, and to each his service; and he commanded the porter to be watchful.

ὡς ἄνθρωπος ἀπόδημος ἀφεὶς τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ καὶ δοὺς τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ τὴν ἐξουσίαν, ἑκάστῳ τὸ ἔργον αὐτοῦ, καὶ τῷ θυρωρῷ ἐνετείλατο ἵνα γρηγορῇ.

as a-mankind assembled-off having-had-sent-off to-the-one to-a-housing-unto of-it and having-had-given unto-the-ones unto-bondees of-it to-the-one to-a-being-out-unto, unto-each to-the-one to-a-work of-it, and unto-the-one unto-a-portal-warden it-finished-in so it-might-watch-unto,
