John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven.

Johnª answeredª° andª said,ª° A manª canªª° receiveª° nothing,ª exceptª it beª° givenª° himª fromª heaven.ª

Iohnª answered,ª° andª said,ª° A manª canªª° receiueª° nothing,ª exceptª it beª° giuenª° himª fromª heauen.ª

Juchanon answered and said to them, A man cannot receive of his own will any thing, unless it be given to him from heaven.

John answered, and said to them: A man cannot take any thing by his own choice, unless it be given him from heaven.

ἀπεκρίθη Ἰωάνης καὶ εἶπεν Οὐ δύναται ἄνθρωπος λαμβάνειν οὐδὲν ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ δεδομένον αὐτῷ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.

It-was-separated-off an-Ioanes and it-had-said, Not it-ableth a-mankind to-take to-not-moreover-one if-ever lest it-might-be having-had-come-to-be-given unto-it out of-the-one of-a-sky.
