Now I would have you all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy: and greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

² I¹ wouldª° that yeª allª spakeª° with tongues,ª butª ratherª thatª ye prophesied:ª° forª greaterª [is] he that prophesiethª° thanª he that speakethª° with tongues,ª exceptªª he interpret,ª° thatª the¹ churchª may receiveª° edifying.ª

But I would that all of you could speak with tongues, but especially that you could prophesy. For greater is he who prophesieth than he who speaketh with tongues, unless he interpret. But if he interpret, he edifieth the church.

Now I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh in a tongue, unless he interpret; and if he interpret, he edifieth the church.

θέλω δὲ πάντας ὑμᾶς λαλεῖν γλώσσαις, μᾶλλον δὲ ἵνα προφητεύητε: μείζων δὲ ὁ προφητεύων ἢ ὁ λαλῶν γλώσσαις, ἐκτὸς εἰ μὴ διερμηνεύῃ, ἵνα ἡ ἐκκλησία οἰκοδομὴν λάβῃ.

I-determine moreover to-all to-ye to-speak-unto unto-tongues, more-such moreover so ye-might-declare-before-of; greater moreover the-one declaring-before-of or the-one speaking-unto unto-tongues, out-of if lest it-might-explain-through-of, so the-one a-calling-out-unto to-a-house-building it-might-have-had-taken.
