No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

No manª that warrethª° entangleth himself²° with¹ the¹ affairsª of [this] life;ª thatª he may pleaseª° him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.ª°

No manª that warreth,ª° intangleth himselfe²° with¹ the¹ affairesª of [this] life,ª thatª hee may pleaseª° him who hath chosen him to be a souldJeremiahª°

No man serveth as a soldier, and entangleth himself with the affairs of the world, that he might please him who hath chosen him.

No man, on becoming a soldier, entangleth himself with the business of the world; that he may please him who enlisted him.

οὐδεὶς στρατευόμενος ἐμπλέκεται ταῖς τοῦ βίου πραγματίαις, ἵνα τῷ στρατολογήσαντι ἀρέσῃ:

Not-moreover-one amassing-of it-be-twined-in unto-the-ones of-the-one of-substained unto-practicings-unto, so unto-the-one unto-having-amass-fortheed-unto it-might-have-pleased;
