 1:1 ¶ Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

 1:1 ¶ Jude,º the servantº of Jesusº Christ,º andºº brotherº of James,º to them that are sanctifiedºº byº Godº the Father,º andº preservedºº in Jesusº Christ,º [and] called:º

 1:2 Mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied.

 1:2 Mercyº unto you,º andº peace,º andº love,º be multiplied.ºº

 1:3 Beloved, while I was giving all diligence to write unto you of our common salvation, I was constrained to write unto you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.

 1:3 Beloved,º when I gaveºº allº diligenceº to writeºº unto youº ofº theº commonº salvation,º it wasºº needfulºº for meºº to writeºº unto you,º and exhortºº [you] that ye should earnestly contendºº forº theº faithº which was onceº deliveredºº unto theº saints.º

 1:4 For there are certain men crept in privily, [even] they who were of old written of beforehand unto this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

 1:4 Forº there are certainº menº crept in unawares,ºº whoº were beforeºº of oldº ordainedººº toº thisº condemnation,º ungodly men,º turningºº theº graceº of ourº Godº intoº lasciviousness,º andº denyingºº theº onlyº Lordº God,º andº ourº Lordº Jesusº Christ.º

 1:5 Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

 1:5 Iº willºº thereforeº putºº youº in remembrance,ººº though yeº onceº knewºº this,º how thatº theº Lord,º having savedºº the peopleº out ofº the landº of Egypt,º afterwardº destroyedºº them that believedºº not.º

 1:6 And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

 1:6 Andº the angelsº which keptºº notº theirº first estate,º butº leftºº their ownº habitation,º he hath reservedºº in everlastingº chainsº underº darknessº untoº the judgmentº of the greatº day.º

 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, having in like manner with these given themselves over to fornication and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.

 1:7 Even asº Sodomº andº Gomorrha,º andº theº citiesº aboutº themº in likeºº manner,ºº giving themselves over to fornication,ºº andº goingºº afterº strangeº flesh,º are set forthº forºº an example,º sufferingºº the vengeanceº of eternalº fire.º

 1:8 Yet in like manner these also in their dreamings defile the flesh, and set at nought dominion, and rail at dignities.

 1:8 Likewiseºº alsoº theseº [filthy] dreamersºº defileºº the flesh,ººº despiseºº dominion,º andº speak evilºº ofº dignities.º

 1:9 But Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing judgment, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

 1:9 Yetº Michaelº theº archangel,º whenº contendingºº with theº devilº he disputedºº aboutº theº bodyº of Moses,º durstºº notº bring againstº himºº a railingº accusation,º butº said,ºº The Lordº rebukeºº thee.º

 1:10 But these rail at whatsoever things they know not: and what they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, in these things are they destroyed.

 1:10 Butº theseº speak evilºº ofº those thingsº whichºº theyº knowºº not:º butº whatº they knowºº naturally,º asº bruteº beasts,º inº those thingsº they corrupt themselves.ºº

 1:11 Woe unto them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.

 1:11 Woeº unto them!º forº they have goneºº in theº wayº of Cain,º andº ran greedily afterºº theº errorº of Balaamº for reward,º andº perishedºº in theº gainsayingº of Core.º

 1:12 These are they who are hidden rocks in your love-feasts when they feast with you, shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

 1:12 Theseº areºº spotsº inº yourº feasts of charity,º when they feastºº withº you,º feedingºº themselvesº without fear:º cloudsº [they are] without water,º carried aboutºº ofº winds;º treesº whose fruit withereth,º without fruit,º twiceº dead,ºº plucked up by the roots;ºº

 1:13 Wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved forever.

 1:13 Ragingº wavesº of the sea,º foaming outºº their ownº shame;º wanderingº stars,º to whomº is reservedºº theº blacknessº of darknessº forº ever.ºº

 1:14 And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,

 1:14 Andº Enochº also,º the seventhº fromº Adam,º prophesiedºº of these,º saying,ºº Behold,ºº the Lordº comethºº withº ten thousandsº of hisºº saints,º

 1:15 to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

 1:15 To executeºº judgmentº uponº all,º andº to convinceºº allº that are ungodlyº among themº ofº allº theirºº ungodlyº deedsº whichº they have ungodly committed,ºº andº ofº allº their hardº [speeches] whichº ungodlyº sinnersº have spokenºº againstº him.º

 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words]), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage.

 1:16 Theseº areºº murmurers,º complainers,º walkingºº afterº their ownºº lusts;º andº theirºº mouthº speakethºº great swellingº [words], having men's personsº in admirationººº becauseº ofº advantage.º

 1:17 But ye, beloved, remember ye the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

 1:17 But,º beloved,º rememberºº yeº theº wordsº whichº were spoken beforeºº ofº theº apostlesº of ourº Lordº Jesusº Christ;º

 1:18 That they said to you, In the last time there shall be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.

 1:18 Howº thatº they toldºº youº there shouldº beºº mockersº inº the lastº time,º who should walkºº afterº their ownºº ungodlyº lusts.º

 1:19 These are they who make separations, sensual, having not the Spirit.

 1:19 Theseº beºº they who separateºº themselves,º sensual,º havingºº notº the Spirit.º

 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

 1:20 Butº ye,º beloved,º building upºº yourselvesº on yourº most holyº faith,º prayingºº inº the Holyº Ghost,º

 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

 1:21 Keepºº yourselvesº inº the loveº of God,º looking forºº theº mercyº of ourº Lordº Jesusº Christº untoº eternalº life.º

 1:22 And on some have mercy, who are in doubt;

 1:22 Andºº of someºº have compassion,ºº making a difference:ºº

 1:23 and some save, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

 1:23 Andº othersº saveºº withº fear,º pullingºº [them] out ofº theº fire;º hatingºº evenº theº garmentº spottedººº byº theº flesh.º

 1:24 Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy,

 1:24 Nowº unto him that is ableºº to keepºº youººº from falling,º andº to presentºº [you] faultlessº before the presenceº of hisºº gloryº withº exceeding joy,º

 1:25 to the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, [be] glory, majesty, dominion and power, before all time, and now, and for evermore. Amen.

 1:25 To the onlyº wiseº Godº ourº Saviour,º [be] gloryº andº majesty,º dominionº andº power,º bothº nowº andº ever.ººº Amen.º
