Philippians 1

3 He testifieth his thankfulness to God, and his love toward them, for the fruits of their faith, and fellowship in his sufferings, 9 daily praying to him for their increase in grace. 12 He sheweth what good the faith of Christ had received by his troubles at Rome, 21 and how ready he is to glorify Christ either by his life or death: 27 exhorting them to unity, 28 and to fortitude in persecution.

 1:3 ¶ I thank 2168 my God 2316 in all 3956 my remembrance 3417 of you,

 1:4 always 3842 offering 4160 prayer 1162 with joy 5479 in my every 3956 prayer 1162 for you all 3956,

 1:5 in view 1909 of your participation 2842 in the gospel 2098 from the first 4413 day 2250 until 891 now 3568.

 1:6 [For I am] confident 3982 of this 3778 very 846 thing 846, that He who began 1728 a good 18 work 2041 in you will perfect 2005 it until 891 the day 2250 of Christ 5547 Jesus 2424.

 1:7 For it is only 2531a right 1342 for me to feel 5426 this 3778 way 3778 about 5228 you all 3956, because 1223 I have 2192 you in my heart 2588, since both 5037 in my imprisonment 1199 and in the defense 627 and confirmation 951 of the gospel 2098, you all 3956 are partakers 4791 of grace 5485 with me.

 1:8 For God 2316 is my witness 3144, how 5613 I long 1971 for you all 3956 with the affection 4698 of Christ 5547 Jesus 2424.

 1:9 And this 3778 I pray 4336, that your love 26 may abound 4052 still 2089 more 3123 and more 3123 in real 1922 knowledge 1922 and all 3956 discernment 144,

 1:10 so 1519 that you may approve 1381a the things that are excellent 1308, in order 2443 to be sincere 1506 and blameless 677 until 1519 the day 2250 of Christ 5547;

 1:11 having been filled 4137 with the fruit 2590 of righteousness 1343 which [comes] through 1223 Jesus 2424 Christ 5547, to the glory 1391 and praise 1868 of God 2316.

 1:12 ¶ Now 1161 I want 1014 you to know 1097, brethren 80, that my circumstances 3588 2596 have turned 2064 out for the greater 3123 progress 4297 of the gospel 2098,

 1:13 so 5620 that my imprisonment 1199 in [the cause of] Christ 5547 has become 1096 well 5318 known 5318 throughout 1722 the whole 3650 praetorian 4232 guard 4232 and to everyone 3956 else 3062,

 1:14 and that most 4183 of the brethren 80, trusting 3982 in the Lord 2962 because of my imprisonment 1199, have 5111 far 4057 more 4057 courage 5111 to speak 2980 the word 3056 of God 2316 without 870 fear 870.

 1:15 Some 5100, to be sure 3303a, are preaching 2784 Christ 5547 even 2532 from envy 5355 and strife 2054, but some 5100 also 2532 from good 2107 will 2107;

 1:16 the latter 3303a [do it] out of love 26, knowing 3609a that I am appointed 2749 for the defense 627 of the gospel 2098;

 1:17 the former 3588 1161 proclaim 2605 Christ 5547 out of selfish 2052 ambition 2052 rather 3756 than 3756 from pure 55 motives 55, thinking 3633 to cause 1453 me distress 2347 in my imprisonment 1199.

 1:18 What 5101 then 1063? Only 4133 that in every 3956 way 5158, whether 1535a in pretense 4392 or 1535a in truth 225, Christ 5547 is proclaimed 2605; and in this 3778 I rejoice 5463. ¶ Yes 235, and I will rejoice 5463,

 1:19 for I know 3609a that this 3778 will turn 576 out for my deliverance 4991 through 1223 your prayers 1162 and the provision 2024 of the Spirit 4151 of Jesus 2424 Christ 5547,

 1:20 according 2596 to my earnest 603 expectation 603 and hope 1680, that I will not be put 153 to shame 153 in anything 3762, but [that] with all 3956 boldness 3954, Christ 5547 will even 2532 now 3568, as always 3842, be exalted 3170 in my body 4983, whether 1535a by life 2222 or 1535a by death 2288.

 1:21 For to me, to live 2198 is Christ 5547 and to die 599 is gain 2771.

 1:22 But if 1487 [I am] to live 2198 [on] in the flesh 4561, this 3778 [will mean] fruitful 2590 labor 2041 for me; and I do not know 1107 which 5101 to choose 138.

 1:23 But I am hard-pressed 4912 from both 1417 [directions], having 2192 the desire 1939 to depart 360 and be with Christ 5547, for [that] is very 4183 much 4183 better 2909;

 1:24 yet 1161 to remain 1961 on in the flesh 4561 is more 316 necessary 316 for your sake 1223.

 1:25 Convinced 3982 of this 3778, I know 3609a that I will remain 3306 and continue 3887 with you all 3956 for your progress 4297 and joy 5479 in the faith 4102,

 1:26 so 2443 that your proud 2745 confidence 2745 in me may abound 4052 in Christ 5547 Jesus 2424 through 1223 my coming 3952 to you again 3825.

 1:27 ¶ Only 3440 conduct 4176 yourselves in a manner 516 worthy 516 of the gospel 2098 of Christ 5547, so 2443 that whether 1535a I come 2064 and see 3708 you or 1535a remain 548 absent 548, I will hear 191 of you that you are standing 4739 firm 4739 in one 1520 spirit 4151, with one 1520 mind 5590 striving 4866 together 4866 for the faith 4102 of the gospel 2098;

 1:28 in no 3367 way 3367 alarmed 4426 by [your] opponents 480—which 3748 is a sign 1732 of destruction 684 for them, but of salvation 4991 for you, and that [too], from God 2316.

 1:29 For to you it has been granted 5483 for Christ’s 5547 sake 5228, not only 3440 to believe 4100 in Him, but also 2532 to suffer 3958 for His sake 5228,

 1:30 experiencing 2192 the same 846 conflict 73 which 3634 you saw 3708 in me, and now 3568 hear 191 [to be] in me.
