 7:1 And the chief of the priests demanded if these (things) were so?

 7:1 And the high priest asked him: Are these things so?

 7:2 But he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hear! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was between the rivers, [and while] he had not yet come to dwell in Charan,

 7:2 And he said: Men, brethren, and our fathers, hear ye. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was between the rivers, before he came to reside in Charran;

 7:3 and said to him, Go forth from thy country and from (being) with the sons of thy family, and come to the land that I will show thee.

 7:3 and he said to him: Depart from thy country, and from thy kindred, and go to a land which I will show to thee.

 7:4 Then went forth Abraham from the land of the Kaldoyee, and came and dwelt in Charan: and from thence, his father being dead, Aloha caused him to pass into this land in which you dwell to-day.

 7:4 And then Abraham departed from the land of the Chaldeans, and came and dwelt in Charran. And from there, after his father had died, God removed him to this land, in which ye this day dwell.

 7:5 And (yet) he gave him no inheritance in it, nor a place of the feet, but he promised to give it to him for an heritage to himself and to his seed, while as yet he had not a son.

 7:5 And he did not give him an inheritance in it, not even a foot-track: but he promised that he would give it him, as an inheritance to him and to his seed, when as yet he had no son.

 7:6 And Aloha spake with him, telling him that his seed should be a sojourner in a strange land, and that they would enslave and ill-treat them four hundred years.

 7:6 And God conversed with him, and said to him: Thy seed will be a sojourner in a foreign land; and they will reduce it to servitude, and will treat it ill, during four hundred years.

 7:7 And the nation whom they will serve (in) bondage will I judge, saith Aloha: and afterward they shall come forth and serve me in this place.

 7:7 And the nation, to whom they perform bondservice, I will judge saith God. And afterwards, they will go out, and will worship me in this land.

 7:8 And he gave to him the covenant of circumcision. And then begat he Ishok, and circumcised him on the eighth day, and Ishok begat Jakub, and Jakub begat our twelve fathers.

 7:8 And he gave them the covenant of circumcision. And then he begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day. And Isaac begat Jacob: and Jacob begat our twelve fathers.

 7:9 And these our fathers were incited against Jauseph, and sold him into Mitsreen. And Aloha was with him:

 7:11 ¶ AND there was a famine and great affliction in all Mitsreen, and in the land of Kenaan, and our fathers had nothing to satisfy them.

 7:27 But he who had offended his neighbour removed himself from him, and said to him, Who appointed thee over us a prince and a judge?

 7:27 But he who did the wrong to his fellow, repulsed him from him, and said to him: Who constituted thee a ruler and a judge over us?

 7:28 Seekest thou to kill me as thou killedst the Mitsroya yesterday?

 7:28 Dost thou seek to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian yesterday?

 7:29 And Musha fled at that word, and became a sojourner in the land of Median, and there were to him two sons.

 7:29 And Moses fled at that speech, and became a sojourner in the land of Midian. And he had two sons.

 7:30 ¶ AND when forty years were there fulfilled to him, there appeared to him in the desert of Mount Sinai the angel of the Lord in a flame that burned in a bush.

 7:30 And when forty years had been passed by him there, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai, in a fire that burned in a bush.

 7:31 And while Musha looked, he wondered at the sight. And as he drew near to gaze, the Lord spake to him with the voice:

 7:31 And when Moses saw [it], he admired the sight: and as he drew near to behold [it], the Lord said to him, audibly:

 7:32 I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham and of Ishok and of Jakub. And Musha, trembling, dared not look upon the sight.

 7:34 Seeing I have seen the affliction of my people who [are] in Mitsreen, and his groaning I have heard, and I have descended that I may deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Mitsreen.

 7:34 I have attentively seen the affliction of my people, who are in Egypt; and I have heard their groans, and have come down to deliver them. And now, come, I will send thee to Egypt.

 7:35 This Musha whom they denied, when they said, Who appointed thee over us a prince and a judge? this, sent Aloha unto them a prince and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him at the bush.

 7:35 This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, Who constituted thee a ruler and judge over us? this same did God, by the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush, send to them to be their captain and deliverer.

 7:36 This brought them out, when he had wrought signs and wonders and mighty deeds in the land of Mitsreen, and at the Sea of Suph, and in the desert forty years.

 7:36 He it was that brought them out, working signs and wonders and prodigies in the land of Egypt, and at the sea of rushes, and in the desert, forty years.

 7:37 ¶ THIS is that Musha, who said to the sons of Israel, A Prophet will Aloha the Lord raise up unto you from your brethren, like me; him shall you hear.

 7:37 This Moses is the man who said to the children of Israel: A prophet, like me, will the Lord God raise up to you from among your brethren; to him give ear.

 7:38 This is he who was with the congregation in the desert, with the angel himself who spake with him and with our fathers at the mountain of Sinai; and he it was who received the words of life to give (them) to us.

 7:38 He it was, who was in the congregation in the wilderness, with the angel that conversed with him and with our fathers at mount Sinai; and he it was, received the living words to give [them] to us.

 7:39 And our fathers willed not to give heed to him, but left him, and in their hearts turned back to Mitsreen,

 7:39 And our fathers would not hearken to him, but forsook him, and in their hearts returned again to Egypt;

 7:40 saying to Aharun, Make us alohee that may go before us, because this Musha, who brought us forth from the land of Mitsreen, we know not what is become of him.

 7:40 when they said to Aaron: Make us gods who may go before us; because, as for this Moses who brought us from the land of Egypt, we know not what hath become of him.

 7:41 And he made them the calf in those days, and they sacrificed sacrifices to idols, and were delighted with the work of their hands.

 7:43 But you took up the tabernacle of Malkum, And the star of the god of Raphan, Images you have made to worship them; I will remove you beyond Babel.

 7:43 But ye bore the tabernacle of Malchum, and the star of the god Rephon, images which ye had made, that ye might bow down to them. I will transport you beyond Babylon.

 7:44 ¶ BEHOLD, the tabernacle of testimony of our fathers was in the desert, as He who spake with Musha had commanded to make it after the pattern which he had seen.

 7:44 Lo, the tabernacle of the testimony of our fathers, was in the wilderness; as he who talked with Moses, commanded to make it after the form which he showed him.

 7:45 And this tabernacle also our fathers bringing brought in with Jeshu to the land which Aloha had given to them, an inheritance from those peoples whom he had expelled from before them, and it was carried until the days of David;

 7:45 And this same tabernacle, our fathers, with Joshua, actually brought into the land which God gave to them for an inheritance from those nations which he drove out before them; and it was borne about, until the days of David.

 7:46 who found favour before Aloha, and asked to find a tabernacle for the God of Jakub.

 7:46 He found favor before God; and he requested, that he might find a residence for the God of Jacob.

 7:47 But Shelemun builded the house.

 7:47 But Solomon built the house.

 7:48 But the Most High dwelleth not in the work of hands, as saith the prophet,

 7:48 Yet the most High lodgeth not in a work of [human] hands; as saith the prophet:

 7:49 Heaven is my throne, And earth the footstool beneath my feet: What house will you build me? saith the Lord: Or what is the place of my rest?

 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth the footstool under my feet. What is the house, ye will build for me? saith the Lord: or, what is the place of my repose?

 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these?

 7:50 Lo, hath not my hand made all these things?

 7:51 O, hardened of neck and uncircumcised in your hearts and in your hearing, you at all times against the Spirit of Holiness stand up; as your fathers, so you also.

 7:51 O ye stiff of neck, and uncircumcised in their heart, and in their hearing; ye do always set yourselves against the Holy Spirit; as your fathers, so also ye.

 7:52 For which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted and slain? they who before announced the coming of the Righteous; him whom you delivered up and slew.

 7:52 For, which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute and kill, [even] them, who foretold the coming of the Just One, whom ye delivered up and slew?

 7:53 And you have received the law by the precept of angels. and have not kept it.

 7:53 And ye have received the law by the ordination of angels, and have not kept it.

 7:54 ¶ AND when they heard these they were filled with wrath in themselves, and they gnashed their teeth upon him.

 7:54 And when they heard these things, they were filled with rage in their souls; and they gnashed their teeth against him.

 7:55 And he, being full of faith and of the Spirit of Holiness, looked up to heaven, and saw the glory of Aloha, and Jeshu standing at the right hand of Aloha.

 7:55 And he, as he was full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, looked towards heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

 7:56 And he said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of Aloha.

 7:56 And he said: Lo, I see heaven open, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

 7:57 And they cried with a high voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him, all of them,

 7:60 And kneeling down, he cried with a high voice, and said, Our Lord, let not this sin arise against them. And when this he had said, he slept.
