אֱלֹהִים.º |

She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in Yahweh; she drew not near to her Elohim. |

Her princesº
withinº
her [are] roaringºº
lions;º
her judgesºº
[are] eveningº
wolves;º
they gnaw not the bonesººº
till the morrow.º |

Her princes within her [are] roaring lions; her judges [are] evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. |

3:4
Her prophetsº
[are] lightºº
[and] treacherousº
persons:ºº
her priestsº
have pollutedºº
the sanctuary,º
they have done violenceºº
to the law.º |

Her prophets [are] light [and] treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. |

The justº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
[is] in the midstº
thereof; he will notº
doºº
iniquity:º
everyº
morningº
doth he bringºº
his judgmentº
to light,º
he failethºº
not;º
but the unjustº
knowethºº
noº
shame.º |

3:5
The just Yahweh [is] in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame. |

3:6
I have cut offºº
the nations:º
their towersº
are desolate;ºº
I made their streetsº
waste,ººº
that noneºº
passeth by:ºº
their citiesº
are destroyed,ºº
so that there is noºº
man,º
that there is noneºº
inhabitant.ºº |

3:6
I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant. |

3:7
I said,ºº
Surelyº
thou wilt fearºº
me, thou wilt receiveºº
instruction;º
so their dwellingº
should notº
be cut off,ºº
howsoeverºº
I punishedººº
them: butº
they rose early,ºº
[and] corruptedºº
allº
their doings.º |

3:7
I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, [and] corrupted all their doings. |
|
3:8 ¶
Thereforeº
waitºº
ye upon me, saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
until the dayº
that I rise upºº
to the prey:º
forº
my determinationº
[is] to gatherºº
the nations,º
that I may assembleºº
the kingdoms,º
to pourºº
uponº
them mine indignation,º
[even] allº
my fierceº
anger:º
forº
allº
the earthº
shall be devouredºº
with the fireº
of my jealousy.º |

3:8 ¶
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith Yahweh, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination [is] to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, [even] all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. |

upon the nameº

יָהוֶה,º
to serveºº
him with oneº
consent.º |

For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Yahweh, to serve him with one consent. |

From beyondºº
the riversº
of
Cûš
כּוּשׁº
my suppliants,º
[even] the daughterº
of my dispersed,ºº
shall bringºº
mine offering.º |

From beyond the rivers of Kush my suppliants, [even] the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering. |

3:11
In thatº
dayº
shalt thou notº
be ashamedºº
for allºº
thy doings,º
whereinº
thou hast transgressedºº
against me: forº
thenº
I will take awayºº
out of the midstºº
of thee them that rejoiceº
in thy pride,º
and thou shalt noº
moreººº
be haughtyºº
because of my holyº
mountain.º |

In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain. |

3:12
I will also leaveºº
in the midstº
of thee an afflictedº
and poorº
people,º
and they shall trustºº
in the nameº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

3:12
I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of Yahweh. |

3:13
The remnantº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
shall notº
doºº
iniquity,º
norº
speakºº
lies;º
neitherº
shall a deceitfulº
tongueº
be foundºº
in their mouth:º
forº
theyº
shall feedºº
and lie down,ºº
and noneº
shall make [them] afraid.ºº |

The remnant of Yisrael shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make [them] afraid. |

3:14 ¶

O daughterº

צִיּוֹן;º
shout,ºº
O
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל;º
be gladºº
and rejoiceºº
with allº
the heart,º
O daughterº
of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.º |

3:14 ¶
Sing, O daughter of Tziyyon; shout, O Yisrael; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Yerushalaim. |

hath taken awayºº
thy judgments,º
he hath cast outºº
thine enemy:ºº
the kingº

Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
[even]
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
[is] in the midstº
of thee: thou shalt notº
seeºº
evilº
any more.º |

Yahweh hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Yisrael, [even] Yahweh, [is] in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more. |

In thatº

it shall be saidºº

Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,º
Fearºº
thou not:º
[and to]
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹן,º
Let notº
thine handsº
be slack.ºº |

In that day it shall be said to Yerushalaim, Fear thou not: [and to] Tziyyon, Let not thine hands be slack. |

´Élöhîm

in the midstº
of thee [is] mighty;º
he will save,ºº
he will rejoiceºº
overº
thee with joy;º
he will restºº
in his love,º
he will joyºº
overº
thee with singing.º |

Yahweh thy Elohim in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. |

I will gatherºº
[them that are] sorrowfulºº
for the solemn assembly,ºº
[who] areº
ofº
thee, [to whom] the reproachº
ofº
it [was] a burden.º |

I will gather [them that are] sorrowful for the solemn assembly, [who] are of thee, [to whom] the reproach of it [was] a burden. |

3:19
Behold,º
at thatº
timeº
I will undoººº
allº
that afflictºº
thee: and I will saveººº
her that halteth,ºº
and gatherºº
her that was driven out;ºº
and I will getºº
them praiseº
and fameº
in everyº
landº
where they have been put to shame.º |

Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. |

At thatº

will I bringºº
you [again], even in the timeº
that I gatherºº
you: forº
I will makeºº
you a nameº
and a praiseº
among allº
peopleº
of the earth,º
when I turn backººº
your captivityº
before your eyes,º
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

At that time will I bring you [again], even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith Yahweh. |
