2 Chronicles 15

1 Asa with Judah and many of Israel, moved by the prophecy of Azariah the son of Obed, make a solemn Covenant with God. 16 He putteth down Maachah his mother for her idolatry. 18 He bringeth dedicated things into the house of God, and enjoyeth a long peace.

 15:1 Now the Spirit 7307 of God 430 came 1961 on Azariah 5838 the son 1121 of Oded 5752,

 15:2 and he went 3318 out to meet 6440 Asa 609 and said 559 to him, “Listen 8085 to me, Asa 609, and all 3605 Judah 3063 and Benjamin 1144: the LORD 3068 is with you when you are with Him. And if 518 you seek 1875 Him, He will let you find 4672 Him; but if 518 you forsake 5800a Him, He will forsake 5800a you.

 15:3 “For many 7227a days 3117 Israel 3478 was without 3808 the true 571 God 430 and without 3808 a teaching 3384 priest 3548 and without 3808 law 8451.

 15:4 “But in their distress 6862b they turned 7725 to the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478, and they sought 1245 Him, and He let them find 4672 Him.

 15:5 “In those 1992a times 6256 there 369 was no 369 peace 7965 to him who went 3318 out or to him who came 935 in, for many 7227a disturbances 4103 afflicted 5921 all 3605 the inhabitants 3427 of the lands 776.

 15:6 “Nation 1471 was crushed 3807 by nation 1471, and city 5892b by city 5892b, for God 430 troubled 2000 them with every 3605 kind of distress 6869a.

 15:7 “But you, be strong 2388 and do not lose 3027 7503 courage 3027 7503, for there 3426 is reward 7939 for your work 6468.”

 15:8 ¶ Now when Asa 609 heard 8085 these 428 words 1697 and the prophecy 5016 which Azariah 5838 the son of Oded 5752 the prophet 5030 spoke, he took 2388 courage 2388 and removed 5674a the abominable 8251 idols 8251 from all 3605 the land 776 of Judah 3063 and Benjamin 1144 and from the cities 5892b which 834 he had captured 3920 in the hill 2022 country 2022 of Ephraim 669. He then restored 2318 the altar 4196 of the LORD 3068 which 834 was in front 6440 of the porch 197 of the LORD 3068.

 15:9 He gathered 6908 all 3605 Judah 3063 and Benjamin 1144 and those from Ephraim 669, Manasseh 4519 and Simeon 8095 who resided 1481a with them, for many 7230 defected 5307 to him from Israel 3478 when they saw 7200 that the LORD 3068 his God 430 was with him.

 15:10 So they assembled 6908 at Jerusalem 3389 in the third 7992 month 2320 of the fifteenth 2568 6240 year 8141 of Asa’s 609 reign 4438.

 15:11 They sacrificed 2076 to the LORD 3068 that day 3117 700 7651 3967 oxen 1241 and 7,000 7651 505 sheep 6629 from the spoil 7998 they had brought 935.

 15:12 They entered 935 into the covenant 1285 to seek 1875 the LORD 3068 God 430 of their fathers 1 with all 3605 their heart 3824 and soul 5315;

 15:13 and whoever 834 3605 would not seek 1875 the LORD 3068 God 430 of Israel 3478 should be put 4191 to death 4191, whether 4480 small 6996b or 5704 great 1419, man 376 or 5704 woman 802.

 15:14 Moreover, they made 7650 an oath 7650 to the LORD 3068 with a loud 1419 voice 6963, with shouting 8643, with trumpets 2689 and with horns 7782.

 15:15 All 3605 Judah 3063 rejoiced 8055 concerning 5921 the oath 7621, for they had sworn 7650 with their whole 3605 heart 3824 and had sought 1245 Him earnestly 3605 7522, and He let them find 4672 Him. So the LORD 3068 gave 5117 them rest 5117 on every 5439 side 5439.

 15:16 ¶ He also 1571 removed 5493 Maacah 4601, the mother 517 of King 4428 Asa 609, from the [position of] queen 1377 mother 1377, because 834 she had made 6213a a horrid 4656 image 4656 as an Asherah 842, and Asa 609 cut 3772 down 3772 her horrid 4656 image 4656, crushed 1854 [it] and burned 8313 [it] at the brook 5158a Kidron 6939.

 15:17 But the high 1116 places 1116 were not removed 5493 from Israel 3478; nevertheless 7534 Asa’s 609 heart 3824 was blameless 8003 all 3605 his days 3117.

 15:18 He brought 935 into the house 1004 of God 430 the dedicated 6944 things 6944 of his father 1 and his own dedicated 6944 things 6944: silver 3701 and gold 2091 and utensils 3627.

 15:19 And there was no 3808 more war 4421 until 5704 the thirty-fifth 7970 2568 year 8141 of Asa’s 609 reign 4438.
