2 Chronicles 16

1 Asa, by the aid of the Syrians, diverteth Baasha from building of Ramah. 7 Being reproved thereof by Hanani, he putteth him in prison. 11 Among his other acts in his disease he seeketh not God, but to the physicians. 13 His death and burial.

 16:1 In the thirty-sixth 7970 8337a year 8141 of Asa’s 609 reign 4438 Baasha 1201 king 4428 of Israel 3478 came 5927 up against 5921 Judah 3063 and fortified 1129 Ramah 7414 in order to prevent 1115 5414 [anyone] from going 3318 out or coming 935 in to Asa 609 king 4428 of Judah 3063.

 16:2 Then Asa 609 brought 3318 out silver 3701 and gold 2091 from the treasuries 214 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and the king’s 4428 house 1004, and sent 7971 them to Ben-hadad 1130 king 4428 of Aram 758, who lived 3427 in Damascus 1834, saying 559,

 16:3 “[Let there be] a treaty 1285 between 996 you and me, [as] between 996 my father 1 and your father 1. Behold 2009, I have sent 7971 you silver 3701 and gold 2091; go 1980, break 6565a your treaty 1285 with Baasha 1201 king 4428 of Israel 3478 so that he will withdraw 5927 from me.”

 16:4 So Ben-hadad 1130 listened 8085 to King 4428 Asa 609 and sent 7971 the commanders 8269 of his armies 2428 against 413 the cities 5892b of Israel 3478, and they conquered 5221 Ijon 5859, Dan 1835, Abel-maim 66 and all 3605 the store 4543 cities 5892b of Naphtali 5321.

 16:5 When Baasha 1201 heard 8085 [of it], he ceased 2308 fortifying 1129 Ramah 7414 and stopped 7673a his work 4399.

 16:6 Then King 4428 Asa 609 brought 3947 all 3605 Judah 3063, and they carried 5375 away the stones 68 of Ramah 7414 and its timber 6086 with which 834 Baasha 1201 had been building 1129, and with them he fortified 1129 Geba 1387 and Mizpah 4709.

 16:7 ¶ At that time 6256 Hanani 2607 the seer 7203a came 935 to Asa 609 king 4428 of Judah 3063 and said 559 to him, “Because you have relied 8172 on the king 4428 of Aram 758 and have not relied 8172 on the LORD 3068 your God 430, therefore 5921 3651 the army 2428 of the king 4428 of Aram 758 has escaped 4422 out of your hand 3027.

 16:8 “Were not the Ethiopians 3569 and the Lubim 3864 an immense 7230 army 2428 with very 3966 many 7235a chariots 7393 and horsemen 6571b? Yet because you relied 8172 on the LORD 3068, He delivered 5414 them into your hand 3027.

 16:9 “For the eyes 5869 of the LORD 3068 move 7751a to and fro 7751a throughout 3605 the earth 776 that He may strongly 2388 support 2388 those whose heart 3824 is completely 8003 His. You have acted 5528 foolishly 5528 in this 2088. Indeed 3588, from now 6258 on you will surely have 3426 wars 4421.”

 16:10 Then Asa 609 was angry 3707 with the seer 7203a and put 5414 him in prison 1004 4115, for he was enraged 2197 at him for this 2088. And Asa 609 oppressed 7533 some 4480 of the people 5971a at the same 1931 time 6256.

 16:11 ¶ Now 2009, the acts 1697 of Asa 609 from first 7223 to last 314, behold 2009, they are written 3789 in the Book 5612 of the Kings 4428 of Judah 3063 and Israel 3478.

 16:12 In the thirty-ninth 7970 8672 year 8141 of his reign 4438 Asa 609 became 2456 diseased 2456 in his feet 7272. His disease 2483 was severe 4605, yet even 1571 in his disease 2483 he did not seek 1875 the LORD 3068, but the physicians 7495.

 16:13 So Asa 609 slept 7901 with his fathers 1, having died 4191 in the forty-first 705 259 year 8141 of his reign 4427a.

 16:14 They buried 6912 him in his own tomb 6913 which 834 he had cut 3738a out for himself in the city 5892b of David 1732, and they laid 7901 him in the resting 4904 place 4904 which 834 he had filled 4390 with spices 1314 of various kinds 2177 blended 7543 by the perfumers’ 4842 7543 art 4639; and they made 8313 a very 5704 3966 great 1419 fire 8316 for him.
