Daniel 10

1 Daniel having humbled himself seeth a vision. 10 Being troubled with fear he is comforted by the angel.

 10:1 In the third 7969 year 8141 of Cyrus 3566 king 4428 of Persia 6539 a message 1697 was revealed 1540 to Daniel 1840, who 834 was named 7121 8034 Belteshazzar 1095; and the message 1697 was true 571 and [one of] great 1419 conflict 6635, but he understood 995 the message 1697 and had an understanding 998 of the vision 4758.

 10:2 ¶ In those 1992a days 3117, I, Daniel 1840, had been 1961 mourning 56 for three 7969 entire 3117 weeks 7620.

 10:3 I did not eat 398 any tasty 2536b food 3899, nor 3808 did meat 1320 or wine 3196 enter 935 my mouth 6310, nor 3808 did I use 5480a any ointment 5480a at all until 5704 the entire 3117 three 7969 weeks 7620 were completed 4390.

 10:4 On the twenty-fourth 6242 702 day 3117 of the first 7223 month 2320, while I was by the bank 3027 of the great 1419 river 5104, that is, the Tigris 2313,

 10:5 I lifted 5375 my eyes 5869 and looked 7200, and behold 2009, there was a certain 259 man 376 dressed 3847 in linen 906, whose waist 4975 was girded 2296 with [a belt of] pure 3800 gold 3800 of Uphaz 210.

 10:6 His body 1472a also [was] like beryl 8658, his face 6440 had the appearance 4758 of lightning 1300, his eyes 5869 were like flaming 784 torches 3940, his arms 2220 and feet 4772 like the gleam 5869 of polished 7044 bronze 5178, and the sound 6963 of his words 1697 like the sound 6963 of a tumult 1995.

 10:7 Now I, Daniel 1840, alone 905 saw 7200 the vision 4759a, while the men 376 who 834 were with me did not see 7200 the vision 4759a; nevertheless 61, a great 1419 dread 2731 fell 5307 on them, and they ran 1272 away 1272 to hide 2244 themselves.

 10:8 So I was left 7604 alone 905 and saw 7200 this 2088 great 1419 vision 4759a; yet no 3808 strength 3581b was left 7604 in me, for my natural 1935 color 1935 turned 2015 to a deathly 4889 pallor 4889, and I retained 6113 no 3808 strength 3581b.

 10:9 But I heard 8085 the sound 6963 of his words 1697; and as soon as I heard 8085 the sound 6963 of his words 1697, I fell 7290a into a deep 7290a sleep 7290a on my face 6440, with my face 6440 to the ground 776.

 10:10 ¶ Then behold 2009, a hand 3027 touched 5060 me and set 5128 me trembling 5128 on my hands 3709 3027 and knees 1290.

 10:11 He said 559 to me, “O Daniel 1840, man 376 of high 2536b esteem 2536b, understand 995 the words 1697 that I am about to tell 1696 you and stand 5975 upright 5921 5977, for I have now 6258 been sent 7971 to you.” And when he had spoken 1696 this 2088 word 1697 to me, I stood 5975 up trembling 7460.

 10:12 Then he said 559 to me, “Do not be afraid 3372a, Daniel 1840, for from the first 7223 day 3117 that you set 5414 your heart 3820 on understanding 995 [this] and on humbling 6031a yourself before 6440 your God 430, your words 1697 were heard 8085, and I have come 935 in response to your words 1697.

 10:13 “But the prince 8269 of the kingdom 4438 of Persia 6539 was withstanding 5975 me for twenty-one 6242 259 days 3117; then behold 2009, Michael 4317, one 259 of the chief 7223 princes 8269, came 935 to help 5826 me, for I had been left 3498 there 8033 with the kings 4428 of Persia 6539.

 10:14 “Now I have come 935 to give 995 you an understanding 995 of what 834 will happen 7136a to your people 5971a in the latter 319 days 3117, for the vision 2377 pertains to the days 3117 yet 5750 [future].”

 10:15 ¶ When he had spoken 1696 to me according to these 428 words 1697, I turned 5414 my face 6440 toward the ground 776 and became 481 speechless 481.

 10:16 And behold 2009, one who 1823 resembled 1823 a human 120 being 1121 120 was touching 5060 my lips 8193; then I opened 6605a my mouth 6310 and spoke 1696 and said 559 to him who was standing 5975 before 5048 me, “O my lord 113, as a result of the vision 4759a anguish 6735c has come 2015 upon me, and I have retained 6113 no 3808 strength 3581b.

 10:17 “For how 1963 can 3201 such 2088 a servant 5650 of my lord 113 talk 1696 with such 2088 as my lord 113? As for me, there remains 5975 just now 6258 no 3808 strength 3581b in me, nor 3808 has any breath 5397 been left 7604 in me.”

 10:18 ¶ Then [this] one with human 120 appearance 4758 touched 5060 me again 3254 and strengthened 2388 me.

 10:19 He said 559, “O man 376 of high 2536b esteem 2536b, do not be afraid 3372a. Peace 7965 be with you; take 2388 courage 2388 and be courageous 2388!” Now as soon as he spoke 1696 to me, I received 2388 strength 2388 and said 559, “May my lord 113 speak 1696, for you have strengthened 2388 me.”

 10:20 Then he said 559, “Do you understand 3045 why 4100 I came 935 to you? But I shall now 6258 return 7725 to fight 3898a against 5973 the prince 8269 of Persia 6539; so I am going 3318 forth 3318, and behold 2009, the prince 8269 of Greece 3120 is about to come 935.

 10:21 “However 61, I will tell 5046 you what is inscribed 7559 in the writing 3791 of truth 571. Yet there 369 is no 369 one 259 who stands 2388 firmly 2388 with me against 5921 these 428 [forces] except 3588 518 Michael 4317 your prince 8269.
