Romans 4

1 Abraham's faith was imputed to him for righteousness, 10 before he was circumcised. 13 By faith only he and his seed received the promise. 16 Abraham is the father of all that believe. 24 Our faith also shall be imputed to us for righteousness.

 4:1 What 5101 then 3767 shall we say 3004 that Abraham 11, our forefather 4310b according 2596 to the flesh 4561, has found 2147?

 4:2 For if 1487 Abraham 11 was justified 1344 by works 2041, he has 2192 something 2745 to boast 2745 about 2745, but not before 4314 God 2316.

 4:3 For what 5101 does the Scripture 1124 say 3004? “ABRAHAM 11 BELIEVED 4100 GOD 2316, AND IT WAS CREDITED 3049 TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS 1343.”

 4:4 Now 1161 to the one who works 2038b, his wage 3408 is not credited 3049 as a favor 5485, but as what 3783 is due 3783.

 4:5 But to the one who does not work 2038b, but believes 4100 in Him who justifies 1344 the ungodly 765, his faith 4102 is credited 3049 as righteousness 1343,

 4:6 just 2509 as David 1160b also 2532 speaks 3004 of the blessing 3108 on the man 444 to whom 3739 God 2316 credits 3049 righteousness 1343 apart 5565 from works 2041:

 4:7 “BLESSED 3107 ARE THOSE WHOSE 3739 LAWLESS 458 DEEDS 458 HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN 863, AND WHOSE 3739 SINS 266 HAVE BEEN COVERED 1943.

 4:8 “BLESSED 3107 IS THE MAN 435 WHOSE 3739 SIN 266 THE LORD 2962 WILL NOT TAKE 3049 INTO ACCOUNT 3049.”

 4:9 ¶ Is this 3778 blessing 3108 then 3767 on the circumcised 4061, or 2228 on the uncircumcised 203 also 2532? For we say 3004, “FAITH 4102 WAS CREDITED 3049 TO ABRAHAM 11 AS RIGHTEOUSNESS 1343.”

 4:10 How 4459 then 3767 was it credited 3049? While he was circumcised 4061, or 2228 uncircumcised 203? Not while circumcised 4061, but while uncircumcised 203;

 4:11 and he received 2983 the sign 4592 of circumcision 4061, a seal 4973 of the righteousness 1343 of the faith 4102 which he had while uncircumcised 203, so 1519 that he might be the father 3962 of all 3956 who believe 4100 without 203 being 203 circumcised 203, that righteousness 1343 might be credited 3049 to them,

 4:12 and the father 3962 of circumcision 4061 to those 3588 who not only 3440 are of the circumcision 4061, but who also 2532 follow 4748 in the steps 2487 of the faith 4102 of our father 3962 Abraham 11 which he had while uncircumcised 203.

 4:13 ¶ For the promise 1860 to Abraham 11 or 2228 to his descendants 4690 that he would be heir 2818 of the world 2889 was not through 1223 the Law 3551, but through 1223 the righteousness 1343 of faith 4102.

 4:14 For if 1487 those 3588 who are of the Law 3551 are heirs 2818, faith 4102 is made 2758 void 2758 and the promise 1860 is nullified 2673;

 4:15 for the Law 3551 brings 2716 about 2716 wrath 3709, but where 3757 there is no 3756 law 3551, there also is no 3756 violation 3847.

 4:16 ¶ For this 3778 reason 1223 [it is] by faith 4102, in order 2443 that [it may be] in accordance 2596 with grace 5485, so 1519 that the promise 1860 will be guaranteed 949 to all 3956 the descendants 4690, not only 3440 to those 3588 who are of the Law 3551, but also 2532 to those 3588 who are of the faith 4102 of Abraham 11, who 3739 is the father 3962 of us all 3956,

 4:17 (as it is written 1125, “A FATHER 3962 OF MANY 4183 NATIONS 1484 HAVE I MADE 5087 YOU”) in the presence 2713 of Him whom 3739 he believed 4100, [even] God 2316, who gives 2227 life 2227 to the dead 3498 and calls 2564 into being 1510 that which does not exist 1510.

 4:18 In hope 1680 against 1909 hope 1680 he believed 4100, so 3779 that he might become 1096 a father 3962 of many 4183 nations 1484 according 2596 to that which had been spoken 3004, “SO 3779 SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS 4690 BE.”

 4:19 Without 3361 becoming 770 weak 770 in faith 4102 he contemplated 2657 his own 1438 body 4983, now as good as dead 3499 since he was about 4225 a hundred 1541 years 1541 old 1541, and the deadness 3500 of Sarah’s 4564 womb 3388;

 4:20 yet 1161, with respect 1519 to the promise 1860 of God 2316, he did not waver 1252 in unbelief 570 but grew 1743 strong 1743 in faith 4102, giving 1325 glory 1391 to God 2316,

 4:21 and being fully 4135 assured 4135 that what 3739 God had promised 1861, He was able 1415 also 2532 to perform 2038b.

 4:22 Therefore 1352 IT WAS ALSO 2532 CREDITED 3049 TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS 1343.

 4:23 Now 1161 not for his sake 1223 only 3440 was it written 1125 that it was credited 3049 to him,

 4:24 but for our sake 1223 also 2532, to whom 3739 it will 3195 be credited 3049, as those 3588 who believe 4100 in Him who raised 1453 Jesus 2424 our Lord 2962 from the dead 3498,

 4:25 [He] who 3739 was delivered 3860 over because 1223 of our transgressions 3900, and was raised 1453 because 1223 of our justification 1347.
