 3:1 ¶ And the word of the Lord came to Jonah{gr.Jonas} the second time, saying,

 3:1 ¶ And the word° of Yahweh° came° unto° Jonah° the second° time,° saying,°°

 3:2 Rise, go to Nineveh{gr.Nineve}, the great city, and preach in it according to the former preaching which I spoke to thee of.

 3:2 Arise,°° go°°° unto° Nineveh,° that great° city,° and preach°° unto° it° the preaching° that° I° bid°°° thee.

 3:3 And Jonah{gr.Jonas} arose, and went to Nineveh{gr.Nineve}, as the Lord had spoken. Now Nineveh{gr.Nineve} was an exceeding great city, of about three days' journey.

 3:3 So Jonah° arose,°° and went°°° unto° Nineveh,° according to the word° of Yahweh.° Now Nineveh° was° an exceeding° great° city° of three° days'° journey.°

 3:4 And Jonah{gr.Jonas} began to enter into the city about a day's journey, and he proclaimed, and said, Yet three days, and Nineveh{gr.Nineve} shall be overthrown.

 3:4 And Jonah° began°° to enter°° into the city° a° day's° journey,° and he cried,°° and said,°° Yet° forty° days,° and Nineveh° shall be overthrown.°°

 3:5 ¶ And the men of Nineveh{gr.Nineve} believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloths, from the greatest of them to the least of them.

 3:5 ¶ So the people°° of Nineveh° believed°° Elohim,° and proclaimed°° a fast,° and put°° on° sackcloth,° from the greatest°° of them even to° the least° of them.

 3:6 And the word reached the king of Nineveh{gr.Nineve}, and he arose from off his throne, and took off his raiment from him, and put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes.

 3:6 For word° came°° unto° the king° of Nineveh,° and he arose°° from his throne,°° and he laid°° his robe° from°° him, and covered°° [him] with sackcloth,° and sat°° in° ashes.°

 3:7 And proclamation was made, and it was commanded in Nineveh{gr.Nineve} by the king an by his great men, saying, Let not men, or cattle, or oxen, or sheep, taste [any thing], nor feed, nor drink water.

 3:7 And he caused [it] to be proclaimed°° and published°° through Nineveh° by the decree°° of the king° and his nobles,° saying,°° Let neither° man° nor beast,° herd° nor flock,° taste°° any thing:° let them not° feed,°° nor° drink°° water:°

 3:8 So men and cattle were clothed with sackcloths, and cried earnestly to God; and they turned every one from their evil way, and from the iniquity that was in their hands, saying,

 3:8 But let man° and beast° be covered°° with sackcloth,° and cry°° mightily° unto° Elohim:° yea, let them turn°° every one° from his evil° way,°° and from° the violence° that° [is] in their hands.°

 3:9 Who knows if God will repent, and turn from his fierce anger, and [so] we shall not perish?

 3:9 Who° can tell°° [if] Elohim° will turn°° and repent,°° and turn away°° from his fierce°° anger,° that we perish°° not?°

 3:10 ¶ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil ways; and God repented of the evil which he had said he would do to them; and he did [it] not.

 3:10 ¶ And Elohim° saw°°° their works,° that° they turned°° from their evil° way;°° and Elohim° repented°° of° the evil,° that° he had said°° that he would do°° unto them; and he did°° [it] not.°
