 3:1 ¶ To everyº [thing there is] a season,º and a timeº to everyº purposeº underº the heaven:º

 3:2 A timeº to be born,ºº and a timeº to die;ºº a timeº to plant,ºº and a timeº to pluck upºº [that which is] planted;ºº

 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up [that which is] planted;

 3:3 A timeº to kill,ºº and a timeº to heal;ºº a timeº to break down,ºº and a timeº to build up;ºº

 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

 3:4 A timeº to weep,ºº and a timeº to laugh;ºº a timeº to mourn,ºº and a timeº to dance;ºº

 3:9 Whatº profitº hath he that workethºº in that whereinº heº laboureth?º

 3:9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

 3:10 I have seenººº the travail,º whichº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº hath givenºº to the sonsº of menº to be exercisedºº in it.

 3:10 I have seen the travail, which Elohim hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

 3:11 He hath madeººº everyº [thing] beautifulº in his time:º alsoº he hath setººº the worldº in their heart,º so thatºº noºº manº can find outººº the workº thatº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº makethºº from the beginningºº toº the end.º

 3:11 He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that Elohim maketh from the beginning to the end.

 3:12 I knowºº thatº [there is] noº goodº in them, butº forº [a man] to rejoice,ºº and to doºº goodº in his life.º

 3:12 I know that [there is] no good in them, but for [a man] to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

 3:13 And alsoº that every manº should eatººººº and drink,ºº and enjoyºº the goodº of allº his labour,º itº [is] the giftº of ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים.º

 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it [is] the gift of Elohim.

 3:14 I knowºº that,º whatsoeverºº ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº doeth,ºº itº shall beº for ever:º nothingº can be putºº toº it, norº any thing takenºº fromº it: and ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº doethºº [it], that [men] should fearººº beforeºº him.

 3:14 I know that, whatsoever Elohim doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and Elohim doeth [it], that [men] should fear before him.

 3:15 That which hath beenººº is now;º and thatº whichº is to beº hath alreadyº been;º and ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº requirethººº that which is past.ºº

 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and Elohim requireth that which is past.

 3:16 ¶ And moreoverº I sawºº underº the sunº the placeº of judgment,º [that] wickednessº [was] there;º and the placeº of righteousness,º [that] iniquityº [was] there.º

 3:16 ¶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, [that] wickedness [was] there; and the place of righteousness, [that] iniquity [was] there.

 3:17 Iº saidºº in mine heart,º ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº shall judgeººº the righteousº and the wicked:º forº [there is] a timeº thereº for everyº purposeº and forº everyº work.º

 3:17 I said in mine heart, Elohim shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for [there is] a time there for every purpose and for every work.

 3:18 Iº saidºº in mine heartº concerningº the estateº of the sonsº of men,º that ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִיםº might manifestºº them, and that theyº might seeºº that theyºº themselves are beasts.º

 3:18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that Elohim might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

 3:19 Forº that which befallethº the sonsº of menº befallethº beasts;º even one thingº befallethº them: as the oneº dieth,º soº diethº the other;º yea, they have allº oneº breath;º so that a manº hath noº preeminenceº aboveº a beast:º forº allº [is] vanity.º

 3:19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all [is] vanity.

 3:20 Allº goºº untoº oneº place;º allº areº ofº the dust,º and allº turnºº to dustº again.ºººº

 3:20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

 3:21 Whoº knowethºº the spiritº of manºº thatº goethºº upward,º and the spiritº of the beastº thatº goethºº downwardº to the earth?º

 3:21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

 3:22 Wherefore I perceiveºº thatº [there is] nothingº better,º than thatºº a manº should rejoiceºº in his own works;º forº thatº [is] his portion:º forº whoº shall bringºº him to seeºº what shall beººº afterº him?

 3:22 Wherefore I perceive that [there is] nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that [is] his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
