Acts 16
1 Paul having circumcised Timothy, 7 and being called by the Spirit from one country to another, 14 converteth Lydia, 16 casteth out a spirit of divination. 19 For which cause he and Silas are whipped and imprisoned. 26 The prison doors are opened. 31 The jailer is converted, 37 and they are delivered.
16:1
Paul came 2658 also 2532 to Derbe 1191 and to Lystra 3082. And a disciple 3101 was there 1563, named 3686 Timothy 5095, the son 5207 of a Jewish 2453 woman 1135 who was a believer 4103, but his father 3962 was a Greek 1672,

and he was well 3140 spoken 3140 of by the brethren 80 who were in Lystra 3082 and Iconium 2430.

Paul 3972 wanted 2309 this 3778 man 3778 to go 1831 with him; and he took 2983 him and circumcised 4059 him because 1223 of the Jews 2453 who were in those 1565 parts 5117, for they all 537a knew 3609a that his father 3962 was a Greek 1672.

Now 1161 while 5613 they were passing 1279 through 1279 the cities 4172, they were delivering 3860 the decrees 1378 which had been decided 2919 upon by the apostles 652 and elders 4245 who 3588 were in Jerusalem 2414, for them to observe 5442.

So 3767 the churches 1577 were being strengthened 4732 in the faith 4102, and were increasing 4052 in number 706 daily 2596 2250.

¶ They passed 1330 through 1330 the Phrygian 5435 and Galatian 1054 region 5561, having been forbidden 2967 by the Holy 40 Spirit 4151 to speak 2980 the word 3056 in Asia 773;
16:7
and after they came 2064 to Mysia 3465, they were trying 3985 to go 4198 into Bithynia 978, and the Spirit 4151 of Jesus 2424 did not permit 1439 them;

and passing 3928 by Mysia 3465, they came 2597 down 2597 to Troas 5174.
16:9
A vision 3705 appeared 3708 to Paul 3972 in the night 3571: a man 435 of Macedonia 3110 was standing 2476 and appealing 3870 to him, and saying 3004, “Come 1224 over 1224 to Macedonia 3109 and help 997 us.”

When 5613 he had seen 3708 the vision 3705, immediately 2112 we sought 2212 to go 1831 into Macedonia 3109, concluding 4822 that God 2316 had called 4341 us to preach 2097 the gospel 2097 to them.

¶ So 3767 putting 321 out to sea 321 from Troas 5174, we ran 2113 a straight 2113 course 2113 to Samothrace 4543, and on the day following 1897a to Neapolis 3496;

and from there 2547 to Philippi 5375, which 3748 is a leading 4413 city 4172 of the district 3310 of Macedonia 3109, a [Roman] colony 2862; and we were staying 1304 in this 3778 city 4172 for some 5100 days 2250.

And on the Sabbath 4521 day 2250 we went 1831 outside 1854 the gate 4439 to a riverside 3844 4215, where 3757 we were supposing 3543 that there would be a place 4335 of prayer 4335; and we sat 2523 down 2523 and began speaking 2980 to the women 1135 who had assembled 4905.

A woman 1135 named 3686 Lydia 3070, from the city 4172 of Thyatira 2363, a seller 4211 of purple 4211 fabrics 4211, a worshiper 4576 of God 2316, was listening 191; and the Lord 2962 opened 1272 her heart 2588 to respond 4337 to the things 2980 spoken 2980 by Paul 3972.
16:15
And when 5613 she and her household 3624 had been baptized 907, she urged 3870 us, saying 3004, “If 1487 you have judged 2919 me to be faithful 4103 to the Lord 2962, come 1525 into my house 3624 and stay 3306.” And she prevailed 3849 upon us.
16:16
¶ It happened 1096 that as we were going 4198 to the place 4335 of prayer 4335, a slave-girl 3814 having 2192 a spirit 4151 of divination 4436 met 5221 us, who 3748 was bringing 3930 her masters 2962 much 4183 profit 2039 by fortune-telling 3132.
16:17
Following 2628 after 2628 Paul 3972 and us, she kept crying 2896 out, saying 3004, “These 3778 men 444 are bond-servants 1401 of the Most 5310 High 5310 God 2316, who 3748 are proclaiming 2605 to you the way 3598 of salvation 4991.”
16:18
She continued doing 4160 this 3778 for many 4183 days 2250. But Paul 3972 was greatly 1278 annoyed 1278, and turned 1994 and said 3004 to the spirit 4151, “I command 3853 you in the name 3686 of Jesus 2424 Christ 5547 to come 1831 out of her!” And it came 1831 out at that very 846 moment 5610.
16:19
¶ But when her masters 2962 saw 3708 that their hope 1680 of profit 2039 was gone 1831, they seized 1949 Paul 3972 and Silas 4609 and dragged 1670 them into the market 58 place 58 before 1909 the authorities 758,

and when they had brought 4317 them to the chief 4755 magistrates 4755, they said 3004, “These 3778 men 444 are throwing 1613 our city 4172 into confusion 1613, being 5225 Jews 2453,

and are proclaiming 2605 customs 1485 which 3739 it is not lawful 1832 for us to accept 3858 or 3761 to observe 4160, being 1510 Romans 4514.”

The crowd 3793 rose 4911 up together 4911 against 2596 them, and the chief 4755 magistrates 4755 tore 4048 their robes 2440 off 4048 them and proceeded to order 2753 [them] to be beaten 4463 with rods 4463.

When they had struck 2007 them with many 4183 blows 4127, they threw 906 them into prison 5438, commanding 3853 the jailer 1200 to guard 5083 them securely 806;

and he, having received 2983 such 5108 a command 3852, threw 906 them into the inner 2082 prison 5438 and fastened 805 their feet 4228 in the stocks 3586.
16:25
¶ But about 2596 midnight 3317 Paul 3972 and Silas 4609 were praying 4336 and singing 5214 hymns 5214 of praise 5214 to God 2316, and the prisoners 1198 were listening 1874 to them;

and suddenly 869 there came 1096 a great 3173 earthquake 4578, so 5620 that the foundations 2310b of the prison 1201 house 1201 were shaken 4531; and immediately 3916 all 3956 the doors 2374 were opened 455 and everyone’s 3956 chains 1199 were unfastened 447.
16:27
When the jailer 1200 awoke 1853 and saw 3708 the prison 5438 doors 2374 opened 455, he drew 4685 his sword 3162 and was about 3195 to kill 337 himself 1438, supposing 3543 that the prisoners 1198 had escaped 1628.
16:28
But Paul 3972 cried 5455 out with a loud 3173 voice 5456, saying 3004, “Do 4238 not harm 2556 yourself 4572, for we are all 537a here 1759a!”
16:29
And he called 154 for lights 5457 and rushed 1530 in, and trembling 1790 with fear 1790 he fell 4363 down 4363 before 4363 Paul 3972 and Silas 4609,
16:30
and after he brought 4254 them out, he said 5346, “Sirs 2962, what 5101 must 1163 I do 4160 to be saved 4982?”
16:31
They said 3004, “Believe 4100 in the Lord 2962 Jesus 2424, and you will be saved 4982, you and your household 3624.”
16:32
And they spoke 2980 the word 3056 of the Lord 2962 to him together 4862 with all 3956 who 3588 were in his house 3614.

And he took 3880 them that [very] hour 5610 of the night 3571 and washed 3068 their wounds 4127, and immediately 3916 he was baptized 907, he and all 537a his [household].
16:34
And he brought 321 them into his house 3624 and set 3908 food 5132 before 3908 them, and rejoiced 21 greatly 21, having believed 4100 in God 2316 with his whole 3832 household 3832.
16:35
¶ Now 1161 when day 2250 came 1096, the chief 4755 magistrates 4755 sent 649 their policemen 4465, saying 3004, “Release 630 those 1565 men 444.”
16:36
And the jailer 1200 reported 518 these 3778 words 3056 to Paul 3972, [saying], “The chief 4755 magistrates 4755 have sent 649 to release 630 you. Therefore 3767 come 1831 out now 3568 and go 4198 in peace 1515.”
16:37
But Paul 3972 said 5346 to them, “They have beaten 1194 us in public 1219 without 178 trial 178, men 444 who are Romans 4514, and have thrown 906 us into prison 5438; and now 3568 are they sending 1544b us away 1544b secretly 2977? No 3756 indeed 1063! But let them come 2064 themselves 846 and bring 1806 us out.”
16:38
The policemen 4465 reported 518 these 3778 words 4487 to the chief 4755 magistrates 4755. They were afraid 5399 when they heard 191 that they were Romans 4514,
16:39
and they came 2064 and appealed 3870 to them, and when they had brought 1806 them out, they kept begging 2065 them to leave 565 the city 4172.
16:40
They went 1831 out of the prison 5438 and entered 1525 [the house of] Lydia 3070, and when they saw 3708 the brethren 80, they encouraged 3870 them and departed 1831.
