 29:1 ¶ And David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

 29:1 ¶ Furthermore Davidº the kingº saidºº unto allº the congregation,º Solomonº my son,º whom aloneº Godº hath chosen,ºº [is yet] youngº and tender,º and the workº [is] great:º forº the palaceº [is] notº for man,º butº for the LORDº God.º

 29:2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the [things of] gold, and the silver for the [things of] silver, and the brass for the [things of] brass, the iron for the [things of] iron, and wood for the [things of] wood; onyx stones, and [stones] to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

 29:2 Now I have preparedºº with allº my mightº for the houseº of my Godº the goldº for [things to be made] of gold,º and the silverº for [things] of silver,º and the brassº for [things] of brass,º the ironº for [things] of iron,º and woodº for [things] of wood;º onyxº stones,º and [stones] to be set,º glisteringº stones,º and of divers colours,º and all mannerº of preciousº stones,º and marbleº stonesº in abundance.º

 29:3 Moreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

 29:3 Moreover,º because I have set my affectionºº to the houseº of my God,º I haveº of mine own proper good,º of goldº and silver,º [which] I have givenºº to the houseº of my God,º overº and aboveº allºº that I have preparedºº for the holyº house,º

 29:4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses;

 29:4 [Even] threeº thousandº talentsº of gold,º of the goldºº of Ophir,º and sevenº thousandº talentsº of refinedºº silver,º to overlayºº the wallsº of the housesº [withal]:

 29:5 of gold for the [things of] gold, and of silver for the [things of] silver, and for all manner of work [to be made] by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto Jehovah?

 29:5 The goldº for [things] of gold,º and the silverº for [things] of silver,º and for all mannerº of workº [to be made] by the handsº of artificers.º And whoº [then] is willingºº to consecrateºº his serviceºº this dayº unto the LORD?º

 29:6 ¶ Then the princes of the fathers' [houses], and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly;

 29:6 ¶ Then the chiefº of the fathersº and princesº of the tribesº of Israel,º and the captainsº of thousandsº and of hundreds,º with the rulersº of the king'sº work,º offered willingly,ºº

 29:7 and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

 29:7 And gaveºº for the serviceº of the houseº of Godº of goldº fiveº thousandº talentsº and ten thousandº drams,º and of silverº tenº thousandº talents,º and of brassº eighteenºº thousandººº talents,º and one hundredº thousandº talentsº of iron.º

 29:8 And they with whom [precious] stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

 29:8 And they withº whom [precious] stonesº were foundºº gaveºº [them] to the treasureº of the houseº of the LORD,º byº the handº of Jehielº the Gershonite.º

 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

 29:9 Then the peopleº rejoiced,ºº forº that they offered willingly,ºº becauseº with perfectº heartº they offered willinglyºº to the LORD:º and Davidº the kingº alsoº rejoicedºº with greatº joy.º

 29:10 ¶ Wherefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

 29:10 ¶ Wherefore Davidº blessedººº the LORDº beforeº allº the congregation:º and Davidº said,ºº Blessedºº [be] thou,º LORDº Godº of Israelº our father,º forº everºº and ever.ºº

 29:11 Thine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth [is thine]; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all.

 29:11 Thine, O LORD,º [is] the greatness,º and the power,º and the glory,º and the victory,º and the majesty:º forº allº [that is] in the heavenº and in the earthº [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom,º O LORD,º and thou art exaltedºº as headº above all.º

 29:12 Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

 29:12 Both richesº and honourº [come] ofºº thee,º and thouº reignestºº over all;º and in thine handº [is] powerº and might;º and in thine handº [it is] to make great,ºº and to give strengthºº unto all.º

 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

 29:13 Nowº therefore, our God,º weº thankºº thee, and praiseºº thy gloriousº name.º

 29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

 29:14 Butº whoº [am] I,º and whatº [is] my people,º thatº we should beºº ableºº to offer so willinglyºº after this sort?º forº all thingsº [come] ofº thee, and of thine ownºº have we givenºº thee.

 29:15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding.

 29:15 Forº weº [are] strangersº beforeº thee, and sojourners,º as [were] allº our fathers:º our daysº onº the earthº [are] as a shadow,º and [there is] noneº abiding.º

 29:16 O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name cometh of thy hand, and is all thine own.

 29:16 O LORDº our God,º allº thisº storeº thatº we have preparedºº to buildºº thee an houseº for thine holyº nameº [cometh] of thine hand,ºº and [is] allº thine own.

 29:17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.

 29:17 I knowºº also, my God,º thatº thouº triestºº the heart,º and hast pleasureºº in uprightness.º As for me,º in the uprightnessº of mine heartº I have willingly offeredºº allº these things:º and nowº have I seenºº with joyº thy people,º which are presentºº here,º to offer willinglyºº unto thee.

 29:18 O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee;

 29:18 O LORDº Godº of Abraham,º Isaac,º and of Israel,º our fathers,º keepºº thisº for everº in the imaginationº of the thoughtsº of the heartº of thy people,º and prepareºº their heartº untoº thee:

 29:19 and give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.

 29:19 And giveºº unto Solomonº my sonº a perfectº heart,º to keepºº thy commandments,º thy testimonies,º and thy statutes,º and to doºº allº [these things], and to buildºº the palace,º [for] the whichº I have made provision.ºº

 29:20 ¶ And David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king.

 29:20 ¶ And Davidº saidºº to allº the congregation,º Nowº blessººº the LORDº your God.º And allº the congregationº blessedºº the LORDº Godº of their fathers,º and bowed down their heads,ºº and worshippedºº the LORD,º and the king.º

 29:21 And they sacrificed sacrifices unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings unto Jehovah, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,

 29:21 And they sacrificedºº sacrificesº unto the LORD,º and offeredºº burnt offeringsº unto the LORD,º on the morrowº after thatº day,º [even] a thousandº bullocks,º a thousandº rams,º [and] a thousandº lambs,º with their drink offerings,º and sacrificesº in abundanceº for allº Israel:º

 29:22 and did eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

 29:22 And did eatºº and drinkºº beforeº the LORDº on thatº dayº with greatº gladness.º And they madeº Solomonº the sonº of Davidº kingºº the second time,º and anointedºº [him] unto the LORDº [to be] the chief governor,º and Zadokº [to be] priest.º

 29:23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

 29:23 Then Solomonº satº onººº the throneº of the LORDº as kingº instead ofº Davidº his father,º and prospered;ºº and allº Israelº obeyedººº him.

 29:24 And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

 29:24 And allº the princes,º and the mighty men,º and allº the sonsº likewiseº of kingº David,º submittedºº themselvesºººº untoº Solomonº the king.º

 29:25 And Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

 29:25 And the LORDº magnifiedººº Solomonº exceedinglyº in the sightº of allº Israel,º and bestowedºº uponº him [such] royalº majestyº asº had notº beenº onº anyº kingº beforeº him inº Israel.º

 29:26 ¶ Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

 29:26 ¶ Thus Davidº the sonº of Jesseº reignedºº overº allº Israel.º

 29:27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three [years] reigned he in Jerusalem.

 29:27 And the timeº thatº he reignedºº overº Israelº [was] fortyº years;º sevenº yearsº reignedºº he in Hebron,º and thirtyº and threeº [years] reignedºº he in Jerusalem.º

 29:28 And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

 29:28 And he diedºº in a goodº old age,ºº fullº of days,º riches,º and honour:º and Solomonº his sonº reignedºº in his stead.º

 29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

 29:29 Now the actsº of Davidº the king,º firstº and last,º behold,º they [are] writtenºº inº the bookº of Samuelº the seer,ººº and inº the bookº of Nathanº the prophet,º and inº the bookº of Gadº the seer,º

 29:30 with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

 29:30 Withº allº his reignº and his might,º and the timesº thatº went overººº him, and overº Israel,º and overº allº the kingdomsº of the countries.º
