 6:1 ¶ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

 6:1 ¶ And it came to passº in the fourº hundredºº and eightiethº yearº after the childrenº of Israelº were come outºº of the landºº of Egypt,º in the fourthº yearº of Solomon'sº reignºº overº Israel,º in the monthº Zif,º whichº [is] the secondº month,º that he began to buildºº the houseº of the LORD.º

 6:2 And the house which king Solomon built for Jehovah, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.

 6:2 And the houseº whichº kingº Solomonº builtºº for the LORD,º the lengthº thereof [was] threescoreº cubits,º and the breadthº thereof twentyº [cubits], and the heightº thereof thirtyº cubits.º

 6:3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

 6:3 And the porchº beforeºº the templeº of the house,º twentyº cubitsº [was] the lengthº thereof, accordingºº to the breadthº of the house;º [and] tenº cubitsº [was] the breadthº thereof beforeºº the house.º

 6:4 And for the house he made windows of fixed lattice-work.

 6:4 And for the houseº he madeºº windowsº of narrowºº lights.º

 6:5 ¶ And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

 6:5 ¶ And againstº the wallº of the houseº he builtºº chambersºº round about,º [against]º the wallsº of the houseº round about,º [both] of the templeº and of the oracle:º and he madeºº chambersº round about:º

 6:6 The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets [in the wall] of the house round about, that [the beams] should not have hold in the walls of the house.

 6:6 The nethermostº chamberºº [was] fiveº cubitsº broad,º and the middleº [was] sixº cubitsº broad,º and the thirdº [was] sevenº cubitsº broad:º forº withoutº [in the wall] ofº the houseº he madeºº narrowed restsº round about,º that [the beams] should notº be fastenedºº in the wallsº of the house.º

 6:7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

 6:7 And the house,º when it was in building,ºº was builtºº of stoneº made readyº before it was broughtº thither: so that there was neitherº hammerºº nor axeº [nor] anyº toolº of ironº heardºº in the house,º while it was in building.ºº

 6:8 The door for the middle side-chambers was in the right side of the house: and they went up by winding stairs into the middle [story], and out of the middle into the third.

 6:8 The doorº for the middleº chamberº [was] inº the rightº sideº of the house:º and they went upºº with winding stairsº intoº the middleº [chamber], and out ofº the middleº intoº the third.º

 6:9 So he built the house, and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.

 6:9 So he builtººº the house,º and finishedºº it; and coveredººº the houseº with beamsº and boardsº of cedar.º

 6:10 And he built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

 6:10 And [then] he builtººº chambersºº againstº allº the house,º fiveº cubitsº high:º and they restedºº onºº the houseº [with] timberº of cedar.º

 6:11 ¶ And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon, saying,

 6:11 ¶ And the wordº of the LORDº cameº toº Solomon,º saying,ºº

 6:12 Concerning this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I establish my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father.

 6:12 [Concerning] thisº houseº whichº thouº art in building,ºº ifº thou wilt walkººº in my statutes,º and executeºº my judgments,º and keepººº allº my commandmentsº to walkººº in them; then will I performººº my wordº with thee,º whichº I spakeºº untoº Davidº thy father:º

 6:13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

 6:13 And I will dwellºº amongº the childrenº of Israel,º and will notº forsakeººº my peopleº Israel.º

 6:14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

 6:14 So Solomonº builtººº the house,º and finishedºº it.

 6:15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar: from the floor of the house unto the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of fir.

 6:15 And he builtººº the wallsº of the houseº withinºº with boardsº of cedar,º both the floorºº of the house,º and the wallsº of the cieling:º [and] he coveredºº [them] on the insideºº with wood,º and coveredººº the floorº of the houseº with planksº of fir.º

 6:16 And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor unto the walls [of the ceiling]: he built [them] for it within, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.

 6:16 And he builtººº twentyº cubitsº on the sidesºº of the house,º bothº the floorº and the wallsº with boardsº of cedar:º he even builtºº [them] for it within,ºº [even] for the oracle,º [even] for the mostº holyº [place].

 6:17 And the house, that is, the temple before [the oracle], was forty cubits [long].

 6:17 And the house,º thatº [is], the templeº beforeº it, wasº fortyº cubitsº [long].

 6:18 And there was cedar on the house within, carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

 6:18 And the cedarº ofº the houseº withinº [was] carvedº with knopsº and openººº flowers:º allº [was] cedar;º there was noº stoneº seen.ºº

 6:19 And he prepared an oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

 6:19 And the oracleº he preparedºº inº the houseºº within,ºº to setºº thereºº the arkº of the covenantº of the LORD.º

 6:20 And within the oracle was [a space of] twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold: and he covered the altar with cedar.

 6:20 And the oracleº in the forepartº [was] twentyº cubitsº in length,º and twentyº cubitsº in breadth,º and twentyº cubitsº in the heightº thereof: and he overlaidºº it with pureºº gold;º and [so] coveredºº the altarº [which was of] cedar.º

 6:21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he drew chains of gold across before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

 6:21 So Solomonº overlaidººº the houseº withinºº with pureºº gold:º and he made a partitionºº by the chainsººº of goldº beforeº the oracle;º and he overlaidºº it with gold.º

 6:22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until all the house was finished: also the whole altar that belonged to the oracle he overlaid with gold.

 6:22 And the wholeº houseº he overlaidºº with gold,º untilº he had finishedºº allº the house:º also the wholeº altarº thatº [was] by the oracleº he overlaidºº with gold.º

 6:23 ¶ And in the oracle he made two cherubim of olive-wood, each ten cubits high.

 6:23 ¶ And within the oracleº he madeºº twoº cherubimsº [of] oliveº tree,º [each] tenº cubitsº high.º

 6:24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

 6:24 And fiveº cubitsº [was] the oneº wingº of the cherub,º and fiveº cubitsº the otherº wingº of the cherub:º from the uttermost partºº of the one wingº untoº the uttermost partº of the otherº [were] tenº cubits.º

 6:25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

 6:25 And the otherº cherubº [was] tenº cubits:º bothº the cherubimsº [were] of oneº measureº and oneº size.º

 6:26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

 6:26 The heightº of the oneº cherubº [was] tenº cubits,º and soº [was it] of the otherº cherub.º

 6:27 And he set the cherubim within the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

 6:27 And he setººº the cherubimsº withinº the innerº house:º and they stretched forthººº the wingsº of the cherubims,º so that the wingº of the oneº touchedºº the [one] wall,º and the wingº of the otherº cherubº touchedºº the otherº wall;º and their wingsº touchedºº oneº anotherºº inº the midstº of the house.º

 6:28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

 6:28 And he overlaidººº the cherubimsº with gold.º

 6:29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, within and without.

 6:29 And he carvedºº allº the wallsº of the houseº round aboutº with carvedº figuresº of cherubimsº and palm treesº and openººº flowers,º withinººº and without.º

 6:30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

 6:30 And the floorº of the houseº he overlaidºº with gold,º withinº and without.º

 6:31 ¶ And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel [and] door-posts were a fifth part [of the wall].

 6:31 ¶ And for the enteringº of the oracleº he madeºº doorsº [of] oliveº tree:º the lintelº [and] side postsº [were] a fifth partº [of the wall].

 6:32 So [he made] two doors of olive-wood; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm-trees.

 6:32 The twoº doorsº also [were of] oliveº tree;º and he carvedºº uponº them carvingsº of cherubimsº and palm treesº and openººº flowers,º and overlaidºº [them] with gold,º and spreadººº goldº uponº the cherubims,º and uponº the palm trees.º

 6:33 So also made he for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood, out of a fourth part [of the wall];

 6:33 Soº also madeºº he for the doorº of the templeº postsº [of] oliveº tree,º a fourth partººº [of the wall].

 6:34 and two doors of fir-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

 6:34 And the twoº doorsº [were of] firº tree:º the twoº leavesº of the oneº doorº [were] folding,º and the twoº leavesº of the otherº doorº [were] folding.º

 6:35 And he carved [thereon] cherubim and palm-trees and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted upon the graven work.

 6:35 And he carvedºº [thereon] cherubimsº and palm treesº and openººº flowers:º and coveredºº [them] with goldº fittedºº uponº the carved work.ºº

 6:36 ¶ And he built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone, and a course of cedar beams.

 6:36 ¶ And he builtºº the innerºº courtº with threeº rowsº of hewed stone,º and a rowº of cedarº beams.º

 6:37 ¶ In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Ziv.

 6:37 ¶ In the fourthº yearº was the foundationºº of the houseº of the LORDº laid,ºº in the monthº Zif:º

 6:38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.

 6:38 And in the eleventhºº year,º in the monthº Bul,º whichº [is] the eighthº month,º was the houseº finishedºº throughout allº the partsº thereof, and according to allº the fashionº of it. So was he sevenº yearsº in buildingºº it.
