 11:1 ¶
Open thy doors, O Lebanon{gr.Libanus}, and let the fire devour thy cedars. |
|
 11:1 ¶
Openºº
thy doors,º
O Lebanon,º
that the fireº
may devourºº
thy cedars.º |
 11:2
Let the pine howl, because the cedar has fallen; for the mighty men have been greatly afflicted: howl, ye oaks of the land of Bashan{gr.Basan}; for the thickly planted forest has been torn down. |
|
 11:2
Howl,ºº
fir tree;º
forº
the cedarº
is fallen;ºº
becauseº
the mightyº
are spoiled:ºº
howl,ºº
O ye oaksº
of Bashan;º
forº
the forestº
of the vintageºººº
is come down.ºº |
 11:3 ¶
[There is] a voice of the shepherds mourning; for their greatness is brought low: a voice of roaring lions; for the pride of Jordan is brought down. |
|
 11:3 ¶
[There is] a voiceº
of the howlingº
of the shepherds;ºº
forº
their gloryº
is spoiled:ºº
a voiceº
of the roaringº
of young lions;º
forº
the prideº
of Jordanº
is spoiled.ºº |
 11:4
Thus saith the Lord Almighty, Feed the sheep of the slaughter; |
|
 11:4
Thusº
saithºº
Yahwehº
my Elohim;º
Feedººº
the flockº
of the slaughter;º |
 11:5
which their possessors have slain, and have not repented: and they that sold them said, Blessed be the Lord; for we have become rich: and their shepherds have suffered no sorrow for them. |
|
 11:5
Whoseº
possessorsºº
slayºº
them, and hold themselves not guilty:ººº
and they that sellºº
them say,ºº
Blessedºº
[be] Yahweh;º
for I am rich:ºº
and their own shepherdsºº
pityººº
them not.º |
 11:6
Therefore I will no longer have mercy upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, behold, I will deliver up the men every one into the hand of his neighbour, and into the hand of his king; and they shall destroy the land, and I will not rescue out of their hand. |
|
 11:6
Forº
I will noº
moreº
pityººº
the inhabitantsºº
of the land,º
saithºº
Yahweh:º
but, lo,º
Iº
will deliverººº
the menº
every oneº
into his neighbour'sº
hand,º
and into the handº
of his king:º
and they shall smiteººº
the land,º
and out of their handºº
I will notº
deliverºº
[them]. |
 11:7
And I will tend the flock of slaughter in the land of Canaan{gr.Chanaan}: and I will take for myself two rods; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Line; and I will tend the flock. |
|
 11:7
And I will feedººº
the flockº
of slaughter,º
[even] you,º
O poorº
of the flock.º
And I tookºº
unto me twoº
staves;º
the oneº
I calledºº
Beauty,º
and the otherº
I calledºº
Bands;ººº
and I fedººº
the flock.º |
 11:8
And I will cut off three shepherds in one month; and my soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against me. |
|
 11:8
º
Threeº
shepherdsºº
also I cut offºº
in oneº
month;º
and my soulº
lothedºº
them, and their soulº
alsoº
abhorredºº
me. |
 11:9
And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of his neighbour. |
|
 11:9
Then saidºº
I, I will notº
feedºº
you: that that dieth,ºº
let it die;ºº
and that that is to be cut off,ºº
let it be cut off;ºº
and let the restºº
eatºº
every oneºº
the fleshº
of another.º |
 11:10 ¶
And I will take my beautiful staff, and cast it away, that I may break my covenant which I made with all the people. |
|
 11:10 ¶
And I tookººº
my staff,º
[even]º
Beauty,º
and cut it asunder,ººº
that I might breakººº
my covenantº
whichº
I had madeºº
withº
allº
the people.º |
 11:11
And it shall be broken in that day; and the Canaanites{gr.Chananites}, the sheep that are kept for me, shall know that it is the word of the Lord. |
|
 11:11
And it was brokenºº
in thatº
day:º
and soº
the poorº
of the flockº
that waitedºº
uponº
me knewºº
thatº
itº
[was] the wordº
of Yahweh.º |
 11:12
And I will say to them, If it be good in your eyes, give [me] my price, or refuse it. And they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. |
|
 11:12
And I saidºº
untoº
them, Ifº
ye thinkº
good,ººº
giveºº
[me] my price;º
and ifº
not,º
forbear.ºº
So they weighedºº
forºº
my priceº
thirtyº
[pieces] of silver.º |
 11:13
And the Lord said to me, Drop them into the furnace, and I will see if it is good [metal], as I was proved for their sakes. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them into the furnace in the house of the Lord. |
|
 11:13
And Yahwehº
saidºº
untoº
me, Castºº
it untoº
the potter:ºº
a goodlyº
priceº
thatº
I was prised atºº
ofºº
them. And I tookºº
the thirtyº
[pieces] of silver,º
and castºº
them toº
the potterºº
in the houseº
of Yahweh.º |
 11:14
And I cast away [my] second rod, [even] Line, that I might break the possession between Judah{gr.Juda} and Israel. |
|
 11:14
Then I cut asunderººº
mine otherº
staff,ºº
[even] Bands,ººº
that I might breakººº
the brotherhoodº
betweenº
Judahº
and Israel.º |
 11:15 ¶
And the Lord said to me, Take yet to thee shepherd's implements belonging to an unskillful shepherd. |
|
 11:15 ¶
And Yahwehº
saidºº
untoº
me, Takeºº
unto thee yetº
the instrumentsº
of a foolishº
shepherd.ºº |
 11:16
For, behold, I [will] raise up a shepherd against the land: he shall not visit that which is perishing, and he shall not seek that which is scattered, and he shall not heal that which is bruised, nor guide that which is whole: but he shall devour the flesh of the choice [ones], and shall dislocate the joints [of their necks]. |
|
 11:16
For,º
lo,º
Iº
will raiseº
upºº
a shepherdºº
in the land,º
[which] shall notº
visitºº
those that be cut off,ºº
neitherº
shall seekºº
the young one,º
norº
healºº
that that is broken,ºº
norº
feedºº
that that standethºº
still:º
but he shall eatºº
the fleshº
of the fat,º
and tearºº
their clawsº
in pieces.ººº |
 11:17
Alas for the vain shepherds that have forsaken the sheep! the sword [shall be] upon the arms of such a one, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be completely withered, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. |
|
 11:17
Woeº
to the idolº
shepherdº
that leavethºº
the flock!º
the swordº
[shall be] uponº
his arm,º
and uponº
his rightº
eye:º
his armº
shall be cleanºº
dried up,ºº
and his rightº
eyeº
shall be utterlyºº
darkened.ºº |
