 12:1 ¶
The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel; saith the Lord, that stretches out the sky, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him. |
|
 12:1 ¶
The burdenº
of the wordº
of Yahwehº
forº
Israel,º
saithºº
Yahweh,º
which stretchethºº
forthº
the heavens,º
and layeth the foundationºº
of the earth,º
and formethºº
the spiritº
of manº
withinº
him. |
 12:2
Behold, I [will] make Jerusalem as trembling door-posts to all the nations round about, and in Judah{gr.Judea} there shall be a siege against Jerusalem. |
|
 12:2
Behold,º
Iº
will makeººº
Jerusalemº
a cupº
of tremblingº
unto allº
the peopleº
round about,º
when they shall beº
in the siegeº
bothº
againstº
Judahº
[and] againstº
Jerusalem.º |
 12:3 ¶
And it shall come to pass in that day [that] I will make Jerusalem a trodden stone to all the nations: every one that tramples on it shall utterly mock at [it], and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it. |
|
 12:3 ¶
And in thatº
dayº
will I makeººº
Jerusalemº
a burdensomeº
stoneº
for allº
people:º
allº
that burdenºº
themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,ººº
though allº
the peopleº
of the earthº
be gathered togetherºº
againstº
it. |
 12:4
In that day, saith the Lord Almighty, I will smite every horse with amazement, and his rider with madness: but I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah{gr.Juda}, and I will smite all the horses of the nations with blindness. |
|
 12:4
In thatº
day,º
saithºº
Yahweh,º
I will smiteºº
everyº
horseº
with astonishment,º
and his riderºº
with madness:º
and I will openººº
mine eyesº
uponº
the houseº
of Judah,º
and will smiteºº
everyº
horseº
of the peopleº
with blindness.º |
 12:5
And the captains of thousands of Judah{gr.Juda} shall say in their hearts, We shall find for ourselves the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the Lord Almighty their God. |
|
 12:5
And the governorsº
of Judahº
shall sayºº
in their heart,º
The inhabitantsºº
of Jerusalemº
[shall be] my strengthº
in Yahwehº
Sabaothº
their Elohim.º |
 12:6 ¶
In that day I will make the captains of thousands of Judah{gr.Juda} as a firebrand among wood, and as a torch of fire in stubble; and they shall devour on the right hand and on the left all the nations round about: and Jerusalem shall dwell again by herself, [even] in Jerusalem. |
|
 12:6 ¶
In thatº
dayº
will I makeººº
the governorsº
of Judahº
like an hearthº
of fireº
among the wood,º
and like a torchº
of fireº
in a sheaf;º
and they shall devourººº
allº
the peopleº
round about,º
onº
the right handº
and onº
the left:º
and Jerusalemº
shall be inhabitedºº
againº
in her own place,º
[even] in Jerusalem.º |
 12:7
And the Lord shall save the tabernacles of Judah{gr.Juda} as at the beginning, that the boast of the house of David, and the pride of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, may not magnify themselves against Judah{gr.Juda}. |
|
 12:7
Yahwehº
also shall saveººº
the tentsº
of Judahº
first,º
thatº
the gloryº
of the houseº
of Davidº
and the gloryº
of the inhabitantsºº
of Jerusalemº
do notº
magnifyºº
[themselves] againstº
Judah.º |
 12:8
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and the weak one among them in that day shall be as David, and the house of David as the house of God, as the angel of the Lord before them. |
|
 12:8
In thatº
dayº
shall Yahwehº
defendººº
the inhabitantsºº
of Jerusalem;º
and he that is feebleºº
among them at thatº
dayº
shall beº
as David;º
and the houseº
of Davidº
[shall be] as Elohim,º
as the angelº
of Yahwehº
beforeº
them. |
 12:9 ¶
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. |
|
 12:9 ¶
And it shall come to passº
in thatº
day,º
[that] I will seekºº
to destroyººº
allº
the nationsº
that comeºº
againstº
Jerusalem.º |
 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon me, because they have mocked [me], and they shall make lamentation for him, as for a beloved [friend], and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn [son]. |
|
 12:10
And I will pourºº
uponº
the houseº
of David,º
and uponº
the inhabitantsºº
of Jerusalem,º
the spiritº
of graceº
and of supplications:º
and they shall lookºº
uponº
meº
whomº
they have pierced,ºº
and they shall mournºº
forº
him, as one mournethººº
forº
[his] onlyº
[son], and shall be in bitternessºº
forº
him, as one that is in bitternessºº
forº
[his] firstborn.º |
 12:11
In that day the lamentation in Jerusalem shall be very great, as the mourning for the pomegranate grove cut down in the plain. |
|
 12:11
In thatº
dayº
shall there be a greatºº
mourningº
in Jerusalem,º
as the mourningº
of Hadadrimmonº
in the valleyº
of Megiddon.º |
 12:12
And the land shall lament in separate families, the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; |
|
 12:12
And the landº
shall mourn,ºº
everyº
familyº
apart;º
the familyº
of the houseº
of Davidº
apart,º
and their wivesº
apart;º
the familyº
of the houseº
of Nathanº
apart,º
and their wivesº
apart;º |
 12:13
the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Simeon{gr.Symeon} by itself, and their wives by themselves; |
|
 12:13
The familyº
of the houseº
of Leviº
apart,º
and their wivesº
apart;º
the familyº
of Shimeiº
apart,º
and their wivesº
apart;º |
 12:14
all the families that are left, each family by itself, and their wives by themselves. |
|
 12:14
Allº
the familiesº
that remain,ºº
every familyº
apart,º
and their wivesº
apart.º |
