Hear this word that Yahweh hath spoken against you, O children of Yisrael, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Mitzrayim, saying, |

You onlyº
have I knownºº
of allºº
the familiesº
of the earth:º
thereforeºº
I will punishººº
youº
for allº
your iniquities.º |

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. |

Can twoº
walkººº
together,º
exceptºº
they be agreed?ºº |

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? |

Will a lionº
roarºº
in the forest,º
when he hath noº
prey?º
will a young lionº
cryºº
outººº
of his den,ºº
ifº
he have takenºº
nothing?º |

Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing? |

Can a birdº
fallºº
inº
a snareº
upon the earth,º
where noº
ginº
[is] for him? shall [one] take upºº
a snareº
fromº
the earth,º
and have takenºº
nothing at all?ººº |

Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin [is] for him? shall [one] take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all? |

Shall a trumpetº
be blownºº
in the city,º
and the peopleº
notº
be afraid?ºº
shall there beº
evilº
in a city,º
and

יָהוֶהº
hath notº
doneºº
[it]? |

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and Yahweh hath not done [it]? |

Surelyº
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
will doºº
nothing,ºº
butºº
he revealethºº
his secretº
untoº
his servantsº
the prophets.º |

3:7
Surely Adonay Yahweh will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. |

The lionº
hath roared,ºº
whoº
will notº
fear?ºº

Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
hath spoken,ºº
whoº
can butº
prophesy?ºº |

3:8
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? Adonay Yahweh hath spoken, who can but prophesy? |

3:9 ¶
Publishºº
inº
the palacesº
at
´Ašdôð
אַשׁדּוֹד,º
and inº
the palacesº
in the landº
of
Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם,º
and say,ºº
Assembleºº
yourselvesº
uponº
the mountainsº
of
Šömrôn
שֹׁמרוֹן,º
and beholdºº
the greatº
tumultsº
in the midstºº
thereof, and the oppressedº
in the midstºº
thereof. |

3:9 ¶
Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Mitzrayim, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Shomron, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof. |

For they knowºº

יָהוֶה,º
who storeºº
upº
violenceº
and robberyº
in their palaces.º |

For they know not to do right, saith Yahweh, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces. |

Thereforeº
thusº
saithºº
´Áðönäy
אֲדֹנָיº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º
An adversaryº
[there shall be] even round aboutº
the land;º
and he shall bring downºº
thy strengthº
fromº
thee, and thy palacesº
shall be spoiled.ºº |

Therefore thus saith Adonay Yahweh; An adversary [there shall be] even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled. |

Asº
the shepherdºº
takethº
outºº
of the mouthºº
of the lionº
twoº
legs,º
orº
a pieceº
of an ear;º
soº
shall the childrenº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
be taken outºº
that dwellºº
in
Šömrôn
שֹׁמרוֹןº
in the cornerº
of a bed,º
and in
Dammä$ek
דַּמָּשֶׂקº
[in] a couch.º |

Thus saith Yahweh; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Yisrael be taken out that dwell in Shomron in the corner of a bed, and in Dammaseq [in] a couch. |

Hear ye, and testify in the house of Yaaqov, saith Adonay Yahweh, the Elohim Tzevaoth, |
|
3:14
Thatº
in the dayº
that I shall visitºº
the transgressionsº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
uponº
him I will also visitººº
the altarsº
of
Bê± ´Ël
בֵּית־אֵל:º
and the hornsº
of the altarº
shall be cut off,ºº
and fallºº
to the ground.º |

3:14
That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Yisrael upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-El: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground. |
|
3:15
And I will smiteºº
the winterº
houseº
withº
the summerº
house;º
and the housesº
of ivoryº
shall perish,ºº
and the greatº
housesº
shall have an end,ºº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

3:15
And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith Yahweh. |
