in the mountainº

שֹׁמרוֹן,º
[which are] namedºº
chiefº
of the nations,º
to whom the houseº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
came!ºº |

6:1 ¶
Woe to them [that are] at ease in Tziyyon, and trust in the mountain of Shomron, [which are] named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Yisrael came! |

ye unto
Calnì
כַּלנֵה,º
and see;ºº
and from thenceºº
goººº
ye to
Çámä±
חֲמָתº
the great:ººº
then go downºº
to
Ga±
גַּתº
of the
Pælištîm
פְּלִשׁתִּים:º
[be they] betterº
thanº
theseº
kingdoms?º
orº
their borderº
greaterº
than your border?ºº |

Pass ye unto Kalneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Chamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Pelishtim: [be they] better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border? |

Ye that put far awayºº
the evilº
day,º
and cause the seatºº
of violenceº
to come near;ºº |

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; |

That lieºº
uponº
bedsº
of ivory,º
and stretchºº
themselves uponº
their couches,º
and eatºº
the lambsº
out of the flock,ºº
and the calvesº
out of the midstºº
of the stall;º |

That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; |

That chantºº
toº
the soundº
of the viol,º
[and] inventºº
to themselves instrumentsº
of musick,º
like

דָּוִד;º |

That chant to the sound of the viol, [and] invent to themselves instruments of musick, like Dawid; |

That drinkºº
wineº
in bowls,º
and anointºº
themselves with the chiefº
ointments:º
but they are notº
grievedºº
forº
the afflictionº
of
Yôsëf
יוֹסֵף.º |

6:6
That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Yosef. |

6:7 ¶
Thereforeº
nowº
shall they go captiveºº
with the firstº
that go captive,ºº
and the banquetº
of them that stretchedºº
themselves shall be removed.ºº |

Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. |

the excellencyº

Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
and hateºº
his palaces:º
therefore will I deliver upºº
the cityº
with all that is therein.º |

Adonay Yahweh hath sworn by himself, saith Yahweh the Elohim Tzevaoth, I abhor the excellency of Yaaqov, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein. |

And it shall come to pass,º
ifº
there remainºº
tenº
menºº
in oneº
house,º
that they shall die.ºº |

And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die. |

And a man's uncleº
shall take him up,ºº
and he that burnethºº
him, to bring outºº
the bonesº
out ofº
the house,º
and shall sayºº
unto him thatº
[is] by the sidesº
of the house,º
[Is there] yetº
[any] withº
thee? and he shall say,ºº
No.º
Then shall he say,ºº
Hold thy tongue:ºº
forº
we may notº
make mentionºº
of the nameº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

6:10
And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that [is] by the sides of the house, [Is there] yet [any] with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of Yahweh. |

For,º
behold,º
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
commandeth,ºº
and he will smiteºº
the greatº
houseº
with breaches,º
and the littleº
houseº
with clefts.º |

For, behold, Yahweh commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts. |

6:12 ¶
Shall horsesº
runºº
upon the rock?º
will [one] plowºº
[there] with oxen?º
forº
ye have turnedºº
judgmentº
into gall,º
and the fruitº
of righteousnessº
into hemlock:º |

6:12 ¶
Shall horses run upon the rock? will [one] plow [there] with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock: |

6:13
Ye which rejoiceºº
in a thingº
of nought,ºº
which say,ºº
Have we notº
takenºº
to us hornsº
by our own strength?º |

6:13
Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength? |
|
6:14
But,º
behold,º
I will raise upºº
againstº
you a nation,º
O houseº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
Xævä´ô±
צְבָאוֹת;º
and they shall afflictºº
you from the entering inººº
of
Çámä±
חֲמָתº
untoº
the riverº
of the wilderness.º |

But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Yisrael, saith Yahweh the Elohim Tzevaoth; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Chamath unto the river of the wilderness. |
