2 Kings 16

1 Ahaz his wicked reign. 5 Ahaz assailed by Rezin and Pekah, hireth Tiglath-pileser against them. 10 Ahaz, sending a pattern of an altar from Damascus to Urijah, diverteth the brasen altar to his own devotion. 17 He spoileth the Temple. 19 Hezekiah succeedeth him.

 16:1 In the seventeenth 7651 6240 year 8141 of Pekah 6492 the son 1121 of Remaliah 7425, Ahaz 271 the son 1121 of Jotham 3147, king 4428 of Judah 3063, became 4427a king 4427a.

 16:2 Ahaz 271 [was] twenty 6242 years 8141 old 1121 when he became 4427a king 4427a, and he reigned 4427a sixteen 8337a 6240 years 8141 in Jerusalem 3389; and he did not do 6213a what 3477 was right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD 3068 his God 430, as his father 1 David 1732 [had done].

 16:3 But he walked 1980 in the way 1870 of the kings 4428 of Israel 3478, and even 1571 made his son 1121 pass 5674a through the fire 784, according to the abominations 8441 of the nations 1471 whom 834 the LORD 3068 had driven 3423 out from before 6440 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 16:4 He sacrificed 2076 and burned 6999 incense 6999 on the high 1116 places 1116 and on the hills 1389 and under 8478 every 3605 green 7488 tree 6086.

 16:5 ¶ Then 227 Rezin 7526 king 4428 of Aram 758 and Pekah 6492 son 1121 of Remaliah 7425, king 4428 of Israel 3478, came 5927 up to Jerusalem 3389 to [wage] war 4421; and they besieged 6696a 5921 Ahaz 271, but could 3201 not overcome 3898a him.

 16:6 At that time 6256 Rezin 7526 king 4428 of Aram 758 recovered 7725 Elath 365a for Aram 758, and cleared 5394 the Judeans 3064 out of Elath 359 entirely; and the Arameans 130 came 935 to Elath 365a and have lived 3427 there 8033 to this 2088 day 3117.

 16:7 ¶ So Ahaz 271 sent 7971 messengers 4397 to Tiglath-pileser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria 804b, saying 559, “I am your servant 5650 and your son 1121; come 5927 up and deliver 3467 me from the hand 3709 of the king 4428 of Aram 758 and from the hand 3709 of the king 4428 of Israel 3478, who are rising 6965 up against 5921 me.”

 16:8 Ahaz 271 took 3947 the silver 3701 and gold 2091 that was found 4672 in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 and in the treasuries 214 of the king’s 4428 house 1004, and sent 7971 a present 7810 to the king 4428 of Assyria 804b.

 16:9 So the king 4428 of Assyria 804b listened 8085 to him; and the king 4428 of Assyria 804b went 5927 up against 413 Damascus 1834 and captured 8610 it, and carried 1540 [the people of] it away 1540 into exile 1540 to Kir 7024b, and put 4191 Rezin 7526 to death 4191.

 16:10 ¶ Now King 4428 Ahaz 271 went 1980 to Damascus 1834 to meet 7122 Tiglath-pileser 8407 king 4428 of Assyria 804b, and saw 7200 the altar 4196 which 834 [was] at Damascus 1834; and King 4428 Ahaz 271 sent 7971 to Urijah 223a the priest 3548 the pattern 1823 of the altar 4196 and its model 8403, according to all 3605 its workmanship 4639.

 16:11 So Urijah 223a the priest 3548 built 1129 an altar 4196; according to all 3605 that King 4428 Ahaz 271 had sent 7971 from Damascus 1834, thus 3651 Urijah 223a the priest 3548 made 6213a [it], before 5704 the coming 935 of King 4428 Ahaz 271 from Damascus 1834.

 16:12 When the king 4428 came 935 from Damascus 1834, the king 4428 saw 7200 the altar 4196; then the king 4428 approached 7126 the altar 4196 and went 5927 up to it,

 16:13 and burned 6999 his burnt 5930a offering 5930a and his meal 4503 offering 4503, and poured 5258a his drink 5262a offering 5262a and sprinkled 2236b the blood 1818 of his peace 8002 offerings 8002 on the altar 4196.

 16:14 The bronze 5178 altar 4196, which 834 [was] before 6440 the LORD 3068, he brought 7126 from the front 6440 of the house 1004, from between 996 [his] altar 4196 and the house 1004 of the LORD 3068, and he put 5414 it on the north 6828 side 3409 of [his] altar 4196.

 16:15 Then King 4428 Ahaz 271 commanded 6680 Urijah 223a the priest 3548, saying 559, “Upon the great 1419 altar 4196 burn 6999 the morning 1242 burnt 5930a offering 5930a and the evening 6153 meal 4503 offering 4503 and the king’s 4428 burnt 5930a offering 5930a and his meal 4503 offering 4503, with the burnt 5930a offering 5930a of all 3605 the people 5971a of the land 776 and their meal 4503 offering 4503 and their drink 5262a offerings 5262a; and sprinkle 2236b on it all 3605 the blood 1818 of the burnt 5930a offering 5930a and all 3605 the blood 1818 of the sacrifice 2077. But the bronze 5178 altar 4196 shall be for me to inquire 1239 [by].”

 16:16 So Urijah 223a the priest 3548 did 6213a according to all 3605 that King 4428 Ahaz 271 commanded 6680.

 16:17 ¶ Then King 4428 Ahaz 271 cut 7112 off 7112 the borders 4526 of the stands 4350, and removed 5493 the laver 3595 from them; he also took 3381 down 3381 the sea 3220 from the bronze 5178 oxen 1241 which 834 were under 8478 it and put 5414 it on a pavement 4837 of stone 68.

 16:18 The covered 4146b way 4146b for the sabbath 7676 which 834 they had built 1129 in the house 1004, and the outer 2435 entry 3996 of the king 4428, he removed 5437 from the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 because 4480 6440 of the king 4428 of Assyria 804b.

 16:19 Now the rest 3499a of the acts 1697 of Ahaz 271 which 834 he did 6213a, are they not written 3789 in the Book 5612 of the Chronicles 1697 3117 of the Kings 4428 of Judah 3063?

 16:20 So Ahaz 271 slept 7901 with his fathers 1, and was buried 6912 with his fathers 1 in the city 5892b of David 1732; and his son 1121 Hezekiah 2396 reigned 4427a in his place 8478.
