Deuteronomy 15

1 The seventh year a year of release for the poor. 7 It must be no let of lending or giving. 12 An Hebrew servant, 16 except he will not depart, must in the seventh year go forth free and well furnished. 19 All firstling males of the cattle are to be sanctified unto the LORD.

 15:1 “At the end 7093 of [every] seven 7651 years 8141 you shall grant 6213a a remission 8059 [of debts].

 15:2 “This 2088 is the manner 1697 of remission 8059: every 3605 creditor 1167 4874 3027 shall release 8058 what 834 he has loaned 5383 to his neighbor 7453; he shall not exact 5065 it of his neighbor 7453 and his brother 251, because 3588 the LORD’S 3068 remission 8059 has been proclaimed 7121.

 15:3 “From a foreigner 5237 you may exact 5065 [it], but your hand 3027 shall release 8058 whatever 834 of yours is with your brother 251.

 15:4 “However 657, there will be no 3808 poor 34 among you, since 3588 the LORD 3068 will surely 1288 bless 1288 you in the land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 is giving 5414 you as an inheritance 5159 to possess 3423,

 15:5 if 518 only 7534 you listen 8085 obediently 8085 to the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 your God 430, to observe 6213a carefully 6213a all 3605 this 2088 commandment 4687 which 834 I am commanding 6680 you today 3117.

 15:6 “For the LORD 3068 your God 430 will bless 1288 you as He has promised 1696 you, and you will lend 5670 to many 7227a nations 1471, but you will not borrow 5670; and you will rule 4910 over many 7227a nations 1471, but they will not rule 4910 over you.

 15:7 ¶ “If 3588 there is a poor 34 man 34 with you, one 259 of your brothers 251, in any 259 of your towns 8179 in your land 776 which 834 the LORD 3068 your God 430 is giving 5414 you, you shall not harden 553 your heart 3824, nor 3808 close 7092 your hand 3027 from your poor 34 brother 251;

 15:8 but you shall freely 6605a open 6605a your hand 3027 to him, and shall generously 5670 lend 5670 him sufficient 1767 for his need 4270 [in] whatever 834 he lacks 2637.

 15:9 “Beware 8104 that there is no 6435 base 1100 thought 1697 in your heart 3824, saying 559, ‘The seventh 7651 year 8141, the year 8141 of remission 8059, is near 7126,’ and your eye 5869 is hostile 7489a toward your poor 34 brother 251, and you give 5414 him nothing 3808; then he may cry 7121 to the LORD 3068 against 5921 you, and it will be a sin 2399 in you.

 15:10 “You shall generously 5414 give 5414 to him, and your heart 3824 shall not be grieved 7489a when you give 5414 to him, because 3588 1558 for this 2088 thing 1697 the LORD 3068 your God 430 will bless 1288 you in all 3605 your work 4639 and in all 3605 your undertakings 3027 4916a.

 15:11 “For the poor 34 will never 3808 cease 2308 [to be] in the land 776; therefore 5921 3651 I command 6680 you, saying 559, ‘You shall freely 6605a open 6605a your hand 3027 to your brother 251, to your needy 6041 and poor 6041 in your land 776.’

 15:12 ¶ “If 3588 your kinsman 251, a Hebrew 5680 man 5680 or 176 woman 5680, is sold 4376 to you, then he shall serve 5647 you six 8337a years 8141, but in the seventh 7637 year 8141 you shall set 7971 him free 2670.

 15:13 “When 3588 you set 7971 him free 2670, you shall not send 7971 him away 7971 empty-handed 7387.

 15:14 “You shall furnish 6059 him liberally 6059 from your flock 6629 and from your threshing 1637 floor 1637 and from your wine 3342 vat 3342; you shall give 5414 to him as the LORD 3068 your God 430 has blessed 1288 you.

 15:15 “You shall remember 2142 that you were a slave 5650 in the land 776 of Egypt 4714, and the LORD 3068 your God 430 redeemed 6299 you; therefore 5921 3651 I command 6680 you this 2088 today 3117.

 15:16 “It shall come 1961 about if 3588 he says 559 to you, ‘I will not go 3318 out from you,’ because 3588 he loves 157 you and your household 1004, since 3588 he fares well 2895 with you;

 15:17 then you shall take 3947 an awl 4836 and pierce 5414 it through his ear 241 into the door 1817, and he shall be your servant 5650 forever 5769. Also 637 you shall do 6213a likewise 3651 to your maidservant 519.

 15:18 ¶ “It shall not seem 7185 hard 7185 to you when you set 7971 him free 2670, for he has given 5647 you six 8337a years 8141 [with] double 4932 the service 7939 of a hired 7916 man 7916; so the LORD 3068 your God 430 will bless 1288 you in whatever 3605 834 you do 6213a.

 15:19 ¶ “You shall consecrate 6942 to the LORD 3068 your God 430 all 3605 the firstborn 1060 males 2145 that are born 3205 of your herd 1241 and of your flock 6629; you shall not work 5647 with the firstborn 1060 of your herd 7794, nor 3808 shear 1494 the firstborn 1060 of your flock 6629.

 15:20 “You and your household 1004 shall eat 398 it every 8141 year 8141 before 6440 the LORD 3068 your God 430 in the place 4725 which 834 the LORD 3068 chooses 977.

 15:21 “But if 3588 it has 1961 any defect 4140b, [such as] lameness 6455 or 176 blindness 5787, [or] any 3605 serious 7451a defect 4140b, you shall not sacrifice 2076 it to the LORD 3068 your God 430.

 15:22 “You shall eat 398 it within your gates 8179; the unclean 2931 and the clean 2889 alike 3164a [may eat it], as a gazelle 6643b or a deer 354.

 15:23 “Only 7534 you shall not eat 398 its blood 1818; you are to pour 8210 it out on the ground 776 like water 4325.
