Luke 21

1 Christ commendeth the poor widow. 5 He foretelleth the destruction of the Temple, and of the city Jerusalem: 25 the signs also which shall be before the last day. 34 He exhorteth them to be watchful.

 21:1 And He looked 308 up and saw 3708 the rich 4145 putting 906 their gifts 1435 into the treasury 1049.

 21:2 And He saw 3708 a poor 3998 widow 5503 putting 906 in two 1417 small 3016 copper 3016 coins 3016.

 21:3 And He said 3004, “Truly 230 I say 3004 to you, this 3778 poor 4434 widow 5503 put 906 in more 4183 than all 3956 [of them];

 21:4 for they all 3956 out of their surplus 4052 put 906 into the offering 1435; but she out of her poverty 5303 put 906 in all 3956 that she had 2192 to live 979 on.”

 21:5 ¶ And while some 5100 were talking 3004 about 4012 the temple 2413, that it was adorned 2885 with beautiful 2570 stones 3037 and votive 334 gifts 334, He said 3004,

 21:6 “[As for] these 3778 things 3778 which 3739 you are looking 2334 at, the days 2250 will come 2064 in which 3739 there will not be left 863 one stone 3037 upon another 3037 which 3739 will not be torn 2647 down 2647.”

 21:7 ¶ They questioned 1905 Him, saying 3004, “Teacher 1320, when 4219 therefore 3767 will these 3778 things 3778 happen 1510? And what 5101 [will be] the sign 4592 when 3752 these 3778 things 3778 are about 3195 to take 1096 place 1096?”

 21:8 And He said 3004, “See 991 to it that you are not misled 4105; for many 4183 will come 2064 in My name 3686, saying 3004, ‘I am 1510 [He],’ and, ‘The time 2540 is near 1448.’ Do not go 4198 after 3694 them.

 21:9 “When 3752 you hear 191 of wars 4171 and disturbances 181, do not be terrified 4422; for these 3778 things 3778 must 1163 take 1096 place 1096 first 4413, but the end 5056 [does] not [follow] immediately 2112.”

 21:10 ¶ Then 5119 He continued by saying 3004 to them, “Nation 1484 will rise 1453 against 1909 nation 1484 and kingdom 932 against 1909 kingdom 932,

 21:11 and there will be great 3173 earthquakes 4578, and in various 2596 places 5117 plagues 3061 and famines 3042; and there will be terrors 5400 and great 3173 signs 4592 from heaven 3772.

 21:12 ¶ “But before 4253 all 3956 these 3778 things 3778, they will lay 1911 their hands 5495 on you and will persecute 1377 you, delivering 3860 you to the synagogues 4864 and prisons 5438, bringing 520 you before 1909 kings 935 and governors 2232 for My name’s 3686 sake 1752a.

 21:13 “It will lead 576 to an opportunity for your testimony 3142.

 21:14 “So 3767 make 5087 up your minds 2588 not to prepare 4304 beforehand 4304 to defend 626 yourselves;

 21:15 for I will give 1325 you utterance 4750 and wisdom 4678 which 3739 none 3756 537a of your opponents 480 will be able 1410 to resist 436 or 2228 refute 471.

 21:16 “But you will be betrayed 3860 even 2532 by parents 1118 and brothers 80 and relatives 4773a and friends 5384, and they will put 2289 [some] of you to death 2289,

 21:17 and you will be hated 3404 by all 3956 because 1223 of My name 3686.

 21:18 “Yet 2532 not a hair 2359 of your head 2776 will perish 622.

 21:19 “By your endurance 5281 you will gain 2932 your lives 5590.

 21:20 ¶ “But when 3752 you see 3708 Jerusalem 2419 surrounded 2944 by armies 4760, then 5119 recognize 1097 that her desolation 2050 is near 1448.

 21:21 “Then 5119 those 3588 who 3588 are in Judea 2453 must flee 5343 to the mountains 3735, and those 3588 who 3588 are in the midst 3319 of the city 846 must leave 1633, and those 3588 who 3588 are in the country 5561 must not enter 1525 the city 846;

 21:22 because 3754 these 3778 are days 2250 of vengeance 1557, so that all 3956 things 3956 which are written 1125 will be fulfilled 4092a.

 21:23 “Woe 3759 to those 3588 who are pregnant 1064 and to those 3588 who are nursing 2337 babies 2337 in those 3588 days 2250; for there will be great 3173 distress 318 upon the land 1093 and wrath 3709 to this 3778 people 2992;

 21:24 and they will fall 4098 by the edge 4750 of the sword 3162, and will be led 163 captive 163 into all 3956 the nations 1484; and Jerusalem 2419 will be trampled 3961 under 3961 foot by the Gentiles 1484 until 891 the times 2540 of the Gentiles 1484 are fulfilled 4137.

 21:25 ¶ “There will be signs 4592 in sun 2246 and moon 4582 and stars 798, and on the earth 1093 dismay 4928 among nations 1484, in perplexity 640 at the roaring 2279 of the sea 2281 and the waves 4535,

 21:26 men 444 fainting 674 from fear 5401 and the expectation 4329 of the things which are coming 1904 upon the world 3625; for the powers 1411 of the heavens 3772 will be shaken 4531.

 21:27 “Then 5119 they will see 3708 THE SON 5207 OF MAN 444 COMING 2064 IN A CLOUD 3507 with power 1411 and great 4183 glory 1391.

 21:28 “But when these 3778 things 3778 begin 757 to take 1096 place 1096, straighten 352b up and lift 1869 up your heads 2776, because 1360 your redemption 629 is drawing 1448 near 1448.”

 21:29 ¶ Then 2532 He told 3004 them a parable 3850b: “Behold 3708 the fig 4808 tree 4808 and all 3956 the trees 1186;

 21:30 as soon 3752 2235 as they put 4261 forth 4261 [leaves], you see 991 it and know 1097 for yourselves 1438 that summer 2330 is now 2235 near 1451.

 21:31 “So 3779 you also 2532, when 3752 you see 3708 these 3778 things 3778 happening 1096, recognize 1097 that the kingdom 932 of God 2316 is near 1451.

 21:32 “Truly 281 I say 3004 to you, this 3778 generation 1074 will not pass 3928 away 3928 until 2193 all 3956 things 3956 take 1096 place 1096.

 21:33 “Heaven 3772 and earth 1093 will pass 3928 away 3928, but My words 3056 will not pass 3928 away 3928.

 21:34 ¶ “Be on guard 4337, so 3379 that your hearts 2588 will not be weighted 916 down 916 with dissipation 2897 and drunkenness 3178 and the worries 3308 of life 982, and that day 2250 will not come 2186 on you suddenly 160 like 5613 a trap 3803;

 21:35 for it will come 1898b upon all 3956 those 3588 who dwell 2521 on the face 4383 of all 3956 the earth 1093.

 21:36 “But keep 69 on the alert 69 at all 3956 times 2540, praying 1189a that you may have 2729 strength 2729 to escape 1628 all 3956 these 3778 things 3778 that are about 3195 to take 1096 place 1096, and to stand 2476 before 1715 the Son 5207 of Man 444.”

 21:37 ¶ Now 1161 during the day 2250 He was teaching 1321 in the temple 2413, but at evening 3571 He would go 1831 out and spend 835 the night 835 on the mount 3735 that is called 2564 Olivet 1638.

 21:38 And all 3956 the people 2992 would get 3719 up early 3719 in the morning 3719 [to come] to Him in the temple 2413 to listen 191 to Him.
