 4:1 ¶ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:

 4:1 ¶ Thereforeºº seeingºº we haveºº thisº ministry,º asº we have received mercy,ºº we faintºº not;º

 4:2 but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

 4:2 Butº have renouncedºº theº hidden thingsº of dishonesty,º notº walkingºº inº craftiness,º norº handlingºº the wordº of Godº deceitfully;ººººº butº by manifestationº of theº truthº commendingºº ourselvesº toº everyº man'sº conscienceº in the sightº of God.º

 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:

 4:3 Butº ifººº ourº gospelº beºº hid,ºº it isºº hidºº toº them that are lost:ºº

 4:4 in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn [upon them].

 4:4 Inº whomº theº godº of thisº worldº hath blindedºº theº mindsº of them which believe not,º lestºº theº lightº of theº gloriousº gospelº of Christ,º whoº isºº the imageº of God,º should shineºº unto them.º

 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

 4:5 Forº we preachºº notº ourselves,º butº Christº Jesusº the Lord;º andº ourselvesº yourº servantsº forºº Jesus'º sake.ºº

 4:6 Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

 4:6 Forº God,º whoº commandedºº the lightº to shineºº out ofº darkness,ºº hathº shinedºº inº ourº hearts,º toº [give] the lightº of theº knowledgeº of theº gloryº of Godº inº the faceº of Jesusº Christ.º

 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;

 4:7 Butº we haveºº thisº treasureº inº earthenº vessels,º thatº theº excellencyº of theº powerº may beºº of God,º andº notº ofº us.º

 4:8 [we are] pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;

 4:8 [We are] troubledºº onº every side,º yetº notº distressed;ºº [we are] perplexed,ºº butº notº in despair;ºº

 4:9 pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;

 4:9 Persecuted,ºº butº notº forsaken;ºº cast down,ºº butº notº destroyed;ºº

 4:10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.

 4:10 Alwaysº bearing aboutºº inº theº bodyº theº dyingº of theº Lordº Jesus,º thatº theº lifeº alsoº of Jesusº might be made manifestºº inº ourº body.º

 4:11 For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

 4:11 Forº weº whichº liveºº areºº alwayºº deliveredºº untoº deathº forºº Jesus'º sake,ºº thatº theº lifeº alsoº of Jesusº might be made manifestºº inº ourº mortalº flesh.º

 4:12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

 4:12 Soº thenºº deathº workethºº inº us,ºº butº lifeº inº you.ºº

 4:13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;

 4:13 º We havingºº theº sameº spiritº of faith,º according asº it is written,ºº I believed,ºº andº thereforeº have I spoken;ºº weº alsoº believe,ºº andº thereforeº speak;ºº

 4:14 knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.

 4:14 Knowingºº thatº he which raised upºº theº Lordº Jesusº shall raise upºº usº alsoº byº Jesus,º andº shall presentºº [us] withº you.º

 4:15 For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.

 4:15 Forº all thingsº [are] forºº yourº sakes,ºº thatº theº abundantºº graceº mightºº throughº theº thanksgivingº of manyº redoundºº toº theº gloryº of God.º

 4:16 Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

 4:16 For which causeº we faintºº not;º butº thoughº ourº outwardº manº perish,ºº yetº theº inwardº [man] is renewedºº dayº byº day.ºº

 4:17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

 4:17 Forº ourº lightº affliction,º whichº is but for a moment,º workethºº for usº a farºº more exceedingººº [and] eternalº weightº of glory;º

 4:18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

 4:18 Whileºº weº lookºº notº atººº the things which are seen,ºº butº at the things which areºº notº seen:ººº forº the things which are seenºº [are] temporal;º butº the things which areºº notº seenººº [are] eternal.º
