 5:1 ¶ For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.

 5:1 ¶ Forº we knowºº thatº ifº ourº earthlyº houseº of [this] tabernacleº were dissolved,ºº we haveºº a buildingº ofº God,º an houseº not made with hands,º eternalº inº theº heavens.º

 5:2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:

 5:2 Forºº inº thisº weº groan,ºº earnestly desiringºº to be clothed uponºº with ourº houseº whichº is fromº heaven:º

 5:3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

 5:3 Ifº soº beº thatº being clothedºº we shallºº notº be foundºº naked.º

 5:4 For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.

 5:4 Forºº we that areºº inº [this] tabernacleº do groan,ºº being burdened:ºº notº for thatººº we wouldºº be unclothed,ºº butº clothed upon,ºº thatº mortalityº might be swallowed upºº ofº life.º

 5:5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

 5:5 Nowº he that hath wroughtºº usº forº the selfsame thingºº [is] God,º whoº alsoº hath givenººº unto usº theº earnestº of theº Spirit.º

 5:6 Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord

 5:6 Thereforeºº [we are] alwaysº confident,ºº knowingºº that,º whilst we are at homeºº inº theº body,º we are absentºº fromº theº Lord:º

 5:7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight);

 5:7 (Forº we walkºº byº faith,º notº byº sight:)º

 5:8 we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

 5:8 º We are confident,ºº [I say], andºº willingºº ratherº to be absentºº fromº theº body,º andº to be presentºº withº theº Lord.º

 5:9 Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.

 5:9 Whereforeº weº labour,ºº that,º whetherº presentºº orº absent,ºº we may beºº acceptedº of him.º

 5:10 For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.

 5:10 Forº weº mustºº allº appearºº beforeº theº judgment seatº of Christ;º thatº every oneº may receiveºº the thingsº [done] inº [his] body,º accordingº to thatº he hath done,ºº whetherº [it be] goodº orº bad.º

 5:11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.

 5:11 Knowingºº thereforeº theº terrorº of theº Lord,º we persuadeºº men;º butº we are made manifestºº unto God;º andº I trustºº alsoº are made manifestºº inº yourº consciences.º

 5:12 We are not again commending ourselves unto you, but [speak] as giving you occasion of glorying on our behalf, that ye may have wherewith to answer them that glory in appearance, and not in heart.

 5:12 Forº we commendºº notº ourselvesº againº unto you,º butº giveºº youº occasionº to gloryº onºº ourº behalf,ºº thatº ye may haveºº somewhat toº [answer] them which gloryºº inº appearance,º andº notº in heart.º

 5:13 For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.

 5:13 Forº whetherº we be beside ourselves,ºº [it is] to God:º or whetherº we be sober,ºº [it is] for your cause.º

 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;

 5:14 Forº theº loveº of Christº constrainethºº us;º because we thusº judge,ºº thatº ifº oneº diedºº forº all,º thenº wereºº allº dead:ººº

 5:15 and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.

 5:15 Andº [that] he diedºº forº all,º thatº they which liveºº shouldºº not henceforthº liveºº unto themselves,º butº unto him which diedºº forº them,º andº rose again.ºº

 5:16 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know [him so] no more.

 5:16 Whereforeº henceforthºº knowºº weº no manº afterº the flesh:º yea,º thoughº we have knownºº Christº afterº the flesh,º yetº nowº henceforthºº knowº weºº [him] no more.º

 5:17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, [he is] a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.

 5:17 Thereforeº if any manº [be] inº Christ,º [he is] a newº creature:º old thingsº are passed away;ºº behold,ºº all thingsº are becomeºº new.º

 5:18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;

 5:18 Andº all thingsº [are] ofº God,º whoº hath reconciledºº usº to himselfº byº Jesusº Christ,º andº hath givenºº to usº theº ministryº of reconciliation;º

 5:19 to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

 5:19 To wit,º thatº Godº wasºº inº Christ,º reconcilingºº the worldº unto himself,º notº imputingºº theirº trespassesº unto them;º andº hath committedºº untoº usº theº wordº of reconciliation.º

 5:20 We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech [you] on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.

 5:20 Now thenº we are ambassadorsºº forº Christ,º as thoughº Godº did beseechºº [you] byº us:º we prayºº [you] inºº Christ'sº stead,ºº be ye reconciledºº to God.º

 5:21 Him who knew no sin he made [to be] sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.

 5:21 Forº he hath madeºº him [to be] sinº forº us,º whoº knewºº noº sin;º thatº weº might be madeºº the righteousnessº of Godº inº him.º
