 1:1 ¶ Paul, an apostle (not from men, neither through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),

 1:1 ¶ Paul,º an apostle,º (notº ofº men,º neitherº byº man,º butº byº Jesusº Christ,º andº Godº the Father,º whoº raisedºº himº fromº the dead;)º

 1:2 and all the brethren that are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

 1:2 Andº allº theº brethrenº which are withº me,º unto theº churchesº of Galatia:º

 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ,

 1:3 Graceº [be] to youº andº peaceº fromº Godº the Father,º andº [from] ourº Lordº Jesusº Christ,º

 1:4 who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

 1:4 Whoº gaveºº himselfº forº ourº sins,º thatº he might deliverºº usº fromº this presentºº evilº world,º accordingº to theº willº of Godº andº ourº Father:º

 1:5 to whom [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

 1:5 To whomº [be] gloryº forº everº and ever.ºº Amen.º

 1:6 I marvel that ye are so quickly removing from him that called you in the grace of Christ unto a different gospel;

 1:6 I marvelºº thatº ye areºº soº soonº removedºº fromº him that calledºº youº intoº the graceº of Christº untoº anotherº gospel:º

 1:7 which is not another [gospel] only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

 1:7 Whichº isºº notº another;º butº there beºº someº thatº troubleºº you,º andº wouldºº pervertºº theº gospelº of Christ.º

 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach unto you any gospel other than that which we preached unto you, let him be anathema.

 1:8 Butº thoughººº we,º orº an angelº fromº heaven,º preach any other gospelºº unto youº thanº thatº whichº we have preachedºº unto you,º let him beºº accursed.º

 1:9 As we have said before, so say I now again, if any man preacheth unto you any gospel other than that which ye received, let him be anathema.

 1:9 Asº we said before,ºº soº sayº Iºº nowº again,º If anyº [man] preachºº any otherºº gospelºº unto youº thanº thatº ye have received,ºº let him beºº accursed.º

 1:10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ.

 1:10 Forº do Iºº nowº persuadeºº men,º orº God?º orº do I seekºº to pleaseºº men?º forº ifº Iºº yetº pleasedºº men,º I shouldº notº beººº the servantº of Christ.º

 1:11 For I make known to you, brethren, as touching the gospel which was preached by me, that it is not after man.

 1:11 Butº I certifyºº you,º brethren,º thatº theº gospelº whichº was preachedºº ofº meº isºº notº afterº man.º

 1:12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but [it came to me] through revelation of Jesus Christ.

 1:12 Forº Iº neitherº receivedºº itº ofº man,º neitherº was I taughtºº [it], butº byº the revelationº of Jesusº Christ.º

 1:13 For ye have heard of my manner of life in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and made havoc of it:

 1:13 Forº ye have heardºº of myº conversationº in time pastº inº theº Jews' religion,º how thatº beyondº measureºº I persecutedºº theº churchº of God,º andº wastedºº it:º

 1:14 and I advanced in the Jews' religion beyond many of mine own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

 1:14 Andº profitedºº inº theº Jews' religionº aboveº manyº my equalsº inº mine ownº nation,º beingºº more exceedinglyº zealousº of the traditionsº of myº fathers.º

 1:15 But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me, [even] from my mother's womb, and called me through his grace,

 1:15 Butº whenº it pleasedºº God,º whoº separatedºº meº fromº myº mother'sº womb,º andº calledºº [me] byº hisºº grace,º

 1:16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles; straightway I conferred not with flesh and blood:

 1:16 To revealºº hisºº Sonº inº me,º thatº I might preachºº himº amongº theº heathen;º immediatelyº I conferredºº notº with fleshº andº blood:º

 1:17 neither went I up to Jerusalem to them that were apostles before me: but I went away into Arabia; and again I returned unto Damascus.

 1:17 Neitherº went I upºº toº Jerusalemº toº them which were apostlesº beforeº me;º butº I wentºº intoº Arabia,º andº returnedºº againº untoº Damascus.º

 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days.

 1:18 Thenº afterº threeº yearsº I went upºº toº Jerusalemº to seeºº Peter,º andº abodeºº withº himº fifteenº days.º

 1:19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

 1:19 Butº otherº of theº apostlesº sawº Iºº none,º saveº Jamesº theº Lord'sº brother.º

 1:20 Now touching the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

 1:20 Nowº the things whichº I writeºº unto you,º behold,ºº beforeº God,ºº Iºº lieºº not.º

 1:21 Then I came unto the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

 1:21 Afterwardsº I cameºº intoº theº regionsº of Syriaº andº Cilicia;º

 1:22 And I was still unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

 1:22 Andº wasºº unknownºº by faceº unto theº churchesº of Judaeaº whichº were inº Christ:º

 1:23 but they only heard say, He that once persecuted us now preacheth the faith of which he once made havoc;

 1:23 Butº they hadºº heardºº only,º Thatº he which persecutedºº usº in times pastº nowº preachethºº theº faithº whichº onceº he destroyed.ºº

 1:24 and they glorified God in me.

 1:24 Andº they glorifiedºº Godº inº me.º
