 5:1 ¶ For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.

 5:1 ¶ Stand fastºº thereforeº in theº libertyº wherewithº Christº hath madeºº usº free,ººº andº beºº notº entangledºº againº withºº the yokeº of bondage.º

 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that, if ye receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

 5:2 Behold,º Iº Paulº sayºº unto you,º thatº ifº ye be circumcised,ºº Christº shall profitºº youº nothing.º

 5:3 Yea, I testify again to every man that receiveth circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

 5:3 Forº I testifyºº againº to everyº manº that is circumcised,ºº thatº he isºº a debtorº to doºº theº wholeº law.º

 5:4 Ye are severed from Christ, ye who would be justified by the law; ye are fallen away from grace.

 5:4 Christº is become of no effectº unto you,ººº whosoeverº of youº are justifiedºº byº the law;º ye are fallenº fromºº grace.º

 5:5 For we through the Spirit by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.

 5:5 Forº weº through the Spiritº wait forºº the hopeº of righteousnessº byº faith.º

 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith working through love.

 5:6 Forº inº Jesusº Christº neitherº circumcisionº availethºº any thing,º norº uncircumcision;º butº faithº which workethºº byº love.º

 5:7 Ye were running well; who hindered you that ye should not obey the truth?

 5:7 Ye did runºº well;º whoº did hinderºººº youº that ye shouldºº notº obeyºº theº truth?º

 5:8 This persuasion [came] not of him that calleth you.

 5:8 This persuasionº [cometh] notº ofº him that callethºº you.º

 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

 5:9 A littleº leavenº leavenethºº theº wholeº lump.º

 5:10 I have confidence to you-ward in the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.

 5:10 Iº have confidenceºº inº youº throughº the Lord,º thatº ye will beºº noneº otherwiseº minded:ºººº butº he that troublethºº youº shall bearºº his judgment,º whosoeverºº he be.ººº

 5:11 But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? then hath the stumbling-block of the cross been done away.

 5:11 Andº I,º brethren,º ifº Iºº yetº preachºº circumcision,º whyº do Iºº yetº suffer persecution?ºº thenº isºº theº offenceº of theº crossº ceased.ºº

 5:12 I would that they that unsettle you would even go beyond circumcision.

 5:12 I wouldº they wereºº evenº cut offºº which troubleºº you.º

 5:13 For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only [use] not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

 5:13 For,º brethren,º yeº have been calledºº untoº liberty;º onlyº [use] notº libertyº forº an occasionº to theº flesh,º butº byº loveº serveºº one another.º

 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

 5:14 Forº allº the lawº is fulfilledºº inº oneº word,º [even] inº this;º Thou shalt loveºº thyº neighbourº asº thyself.º

 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

 5:15 Butº ifº ye biteºº andº devourºº one another,º take heedºº that ye beºº notº consumedºº oneºº ofº another.º

 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

 5:16 [This] I sayºº then,º Walkºº in the Spirit,º andº ye shallºº notº fulfilºº the lustº of the flesh.º

 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would.

 5:17 Forº theº fleshº lustethºº againstº theº Spirit,º andº theº Spiritº againstº theº flesh:º andº theseº are contraryºº the one to the other:º so thatº ye cannotºº doºº the thingsº thatºº ye would.ºº

 5:18 But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

 5:18 Butº ifº ye be ledºº of the Spirit,º ye areºº notº underº the law.º

 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

 5:19 Nowº theº worksº of theº fleshº areºº manifest,º whichº areºº [these]; Adultery,º fornication,º uncleanness,º lasciviousness,º

 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties,

 5:20 Idolatry,º witchcraft,º hatred,º variance,º emulations,º wrath,º strife,º seditions,º heresies,º

 5:21 envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 5:21 Envyings,º murders,º drunkenness,º revellings,º andº suchº like:º of the whichº I tellºº youº before,ººº asº I haveºº alsoº told [you] in time past,ººº thatº they which doºº such thingsº shallºº notº inheritºº the kingdomº of God.º

 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

 5:22 Butº theº fruitº of theº Spiritº isºº love,º joy,º peace,º longsuffering,º gentleness,º goodness,º faith,º

 5:23 meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.

 5:23 Meekness,º temperance:º againstº suchº there isºº noº law.º

 5:24 And they that are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with the passions and the lusts thereof.

 5:24 Andº theyº that areº Christ'sº have crucifiedºº theº fleshº withº theº affectionsº andº lusts.º

 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.

 5:25 Ifº we liveºº in the Spirit,º let usºº alsoº walkºº in the Spirit.º

 5:26 Let us not become vainglorious, provoking one another, envying one another.

 5:26 Let usºº notº beºº desirous of vain glory,º provokingºº one another,º envyingºº one another.º
