 16:1 ¶ And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him.

 16:1 ¶ Andº whenºº theº sabbathº was past,ºº Maryº Magdalene,º andº Maryº theº [mother]º of James,º andº Salome,º had boughtºº sweet spices,º thatº they might comeºº and anointºº him.º

 16:2 And very early on the first day of the week, they come to the tomb when the sun was risen.

 16:2 Andº veryº early in the morningº theº firstº [day] of theº week,º they cameºº untoº theº sepulchreº at the risingºº of theº sun.º

 16:3 And they were saying among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the tomb?

 16:3 Andº they saidºº amongº themselves,º Whoº shall rollºº usº awayººº theº stoneº fromº theº doorº of theº sepulchre?º

 16:4 and looking up, they see that the stone is rolled back: for it was exceeding great.

 16:4 Andº when they looked,ºº they sawºº thatº theº stoneº was rolled away:ºº forº it wasºº veryº great.º

 16:5 And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, arrayed in a white robe; and they were amazed.

 16:5 Andº enteringºº intoº theº sepulchre,º they sawºº a young manº sittingºº onº theº right side,º clothedºº inº a long whiteº garment;ºº andº they were affrighted.ºº

 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not amazed: ye seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who hath been crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold, the place where they laid him!

 16:6 Andº heº saithºº unto them,º Beºº notº affrighted:ºº Ye seekºº Jesusº of Nazareth,º whichº was crucified:ºº he is risen;ºº he isºº notº here:º beholdº theº placeº whereº they laidºº him.º

 16:7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, He goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

 16:7 Butº go your way,ºº tellºº hisº disciplesº andº Peterº thatº he goeth beforeºº youº intoº Galilee:º thereº shall ye seeºº him,º asº he saidºº unto you.º

 16:8 And they went out, and fled from the tomb; for trembling and astonishment had come upon them: and they said nothing to any one; for they were afraid.

 16:8 Andº they went outºº quickly,º and fledºº fromº theº sepulchre;º forº theyº trembledººº andº were amazed:º neitherº saidº theyºº any thingº to anyº [man]; forº they were afraid.ºº

 16:9 ¶ Now when he was risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.

 16:9 ¶ Nowº when [Jesus] was risenºº earlyº the firstº [day] of the week,º he appearedºº firstº to Maryº Magdalene,º out ofº whomº he had castºº sevenº devils.º

 16:10 She went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

 16:10 [And] sheº wentºº and toldºº them that had beenºº withº him,º as they mournedºº andº wept.ºº

 16:11 And they, when they heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, disbelieved.

 16:11 And they,º when they had heardºº thatº he was alive,ºº andº had been seenºº ofº her,º believed not.ºº

 16:12 ¶ And after these things he was manifested in another form unto two of them, as they walked, on their way into the country.

 16:12 ¶ Afterºº thatº he appearedºº inº anotherº formº unto twoº ofº them,º as they walked,ºº and wentºº intoº the country.º

 16:13 And they went away and told it unto the rest: neither believed they them.

 16:13 And theyº wentºº and toldºº [it] unto theº residue:º neitherº believedº theyºº them.º

 16:14 ¶ And afterward he was manifested unto the eleven themselves as they sat at meat; and he upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them that had seen him after he was risen.

 16:14 ¶ Afterwardº he appearedºº unto theº elevenº as theyº sat at meat,ºº andº upbraidedºº them with theirº unbeliefº andº hardness of heart,º becauseº they believedºº notº them which had seenºº himº after he was risen.ºº

 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.

 16:15 Andº he saidºº unto them,º Goº yeºº intoº allº theº world,º and preachºº theº gospelº to everyº creature.º

 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned.

 16:16 He that believethºº andº is baptizedºº shall be saved;ºº butº he that believeth notºº shall be damned.ºº

 16:17 And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

 16:17 Andº theseº signsº shall followºº themº that believe;ºº Inº myº nameº shall they cast outºº devils;º they shall speakºº with newº tongues;º

 16:18 they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

 16:18 They shall take upºº serpents;º and ifº they drinkºº anyºº deadlyº thing,ºº it shall notº hurtºº them;º they shall layºº handsº onº the sick,º andº they shallºº recover.ºº

 16:19 ¶ So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken unto them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

 16:19 ¶ Soºº thenºº afterº theº Lordº had spokenºº unto them,º he was received upºº intoº heaven,º andº satºº onº the right handº of God.º

 16:20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

 16:20 Andº theyº went forth,ºº and preachedºº every where,º theº Lordº working withºº [them], andº confirmingºº theº wordº withº signsº following.ºº Amen.º
