Exodus 3

1 Moses keepeth Jethro's flock. 2 God appeareth to him in a burning bush. 9 He sendeth him to deliver Israel. 14 The name of God. 15 His message to Israel.

 3:1 Now Moses 4872 was pasturing 7462a the flock 6629 of Jethro 3503 his father-in-law 2860b, the priest 3548 of Midian 4080; and he led 5090a the flock 6629 to the west 310 side 310 of the wilderness 4057b and came 935 to Horeb 2722, the mountain 2022 of God 430.

 3:2 The angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 to him in a blazing 3852 fire 784 from the midst 8432 of a bush 5572; and he looked 7200, and behold 2009, the bush 5572 was burning 1197a with fire 784, yet the bush 5572 was not consumed 398.

 3:3 So Moses 4872 said 559, “I must turn 5493 aside 5493 now 4994 and see 7200 this 2088 marvelous 1419 sight 4758, why 4069 the bush 5572 is not burned 1197a up.”

 3:4 When the LORD 3068 saw 7200 that he turned 5493 aside 5493 to look 7200, God 430 called 7121 to him from the midst 8432 of the bush 5572 and said 559, “Moses 4872, Moses 4872!” And he said 559, “Here 2009 I am.”

 3:5 Then He said 559, “Do not come 7126 near 7126 here 1988; remove 5394 your sandals 5275 from your feet 7272, for the place 4725 on which 834 you are standing 5975 is holy 6944 ground 127.”

 3:6 He said 559 also, “I am the God 430 of your father 1, the God 430 of Abraham 85, the God 430 of Isaac 3327, and the God 430 of Jacob 3290.” Then Moses 4872 hid 5641 his face 6440, for he was afraid 3372a to look 5027 at God 430.

 3:7 ¶ The LORD 3068 said 559, “I have surely 7200 seen 7200 the affliction 6040a of My people 5971a who 834 are in Egypt 4714, and have given 8085 heed 8085 to their cry 6818 because 4480 6440 of their taskmasters 5065, for I am aware 3045 of their sufferings 4341.

 3:8 “So I have come 3381 down 3381 to deliver 5337 them from the power 3027 of the Egyptians 4714, and to bring 5927 them up from that land 776 to a good 2896a and spacious 7342 land 776, to a land 776 flowing 2100 with milk 2461 and honey 1706, to the place 4725 of the Canaanite 3669a and the Hittite 2850 and the Amorite 567 and the Perizzite 6522 and the Hivite 2340 and the Jebusite 2983.

 3:9 “Now 6258, behold 2009, the cry 6818 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 has come 935 to Me; furthermore 1571, I have seen 7200 the oppression 3906 with which 834 the Egyptians 4714 are oppressing 3905 them.

 3:10 “Therefore, come 1980 now 6258, and I will send 7971 you to Pharaoh 6547, so that you may bring 3318 My people 5971a, the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, out of Egypt 4714.”

 3:11 But Moses 4872 said 559 to God 430, “Who 4310 am I, that I should go 1980 to Pharaoh 6547, and that I should bring 3318 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 out of Egypt 4714?”

 3:12 And He said 559, “Certainly 3588 I will be with you, and this 2088 shall be the sign 226 to you that it is I who have sent 7971 you: when you have brought 3318 the people 5971a out of Egypt 4714, you shall worship 5647 God 430 at this 2088 mountain 2022.”

 3:13 ¶ Then Moses 4872 said 559 to God 430, “Behold 2009, I am going 935 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, and I will say 559 to them, ‘The God 430 of your fathers 1 has sent 7971 me to you.’ Now they may say 559 to me, ‘What 4100 is His name 8034?’ What 4100 shall I say 559 to them?”

 3:14 God 430 said 559 to Moses 4872, “I AM 1961 WHO 834 I AM 1961”; and He said 559, “Thus 3541 you shall say 559 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, ‘I AM 1961 has sent 7971 me to you.’”

 3:15 God 430, furthermore 5750, said 559 to Moses 4872, “Thus 3541 you shall say 559 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, ‘The LORD 3068, the God 430 of your fathers 1, the God 430 of Abraham 85, the God 430 of Isaac 3327, and the God 430 of Jacob 3290, has sent 7971 me to you.’ This 2088 is My name 8034 forever 5769, and this 2088 is My memorial-name 2143 to all 1755 generations 1755.

 3:16 “Go 1980 and gather 622 the elders 2205 of Israel 3478 together and say 559 to them, ‘The LORD 3068, the God 430 of your fathers 1, the God 430 of Abraham 85, Isaac 3327 and Jacob 3290, has appeared 7200 to me, saying 559, “I am 6485 indeed 6485 concerned 6485 about you and what has been done 6213a to you in Egypt 4714.

 3:17 “So I said 559, I will bring 5927 you up out of the affliction 6040a of Egypt 4714 to the land 776 of the Canaanite 3669a and the Hittite 2850 and the Amorite 567 and the Perizzite 6522 and the Hivite 2340 and the Jebusite 2983, to a land 776 flowing 2100 with milk 2461 and honey 1706.”’

 3:18 “They will pay 8085 heed 8085 to what 6963 you say 6963; and you with the elders 2205 of Israel 3478 will come 935 to the king 4428 of Egypt 4714 and you will say 559 to him, ‘The LORD 3068, the God 430 of the Hebrews 5680, has met 7136a with us. So now 6258, please 4994, let us go 1980 a three 7969 days’ 3117 journey 1870 into the wilderness 4057b, that we may sacrifice 2076 to the LORD 3068 our God 430.’

 3:19 “But I know 3045 that the king 4428 of Egypt 4714 will not permit 5414 you to go 1980, except 3808 under compulsion 2389 3027.

 3:20 “So I will stretch 7971 out My hand 3027 and strike 5221 Egypt 4714 with all 3605 My miracles 6381 which 834 I shall do 6213a in the midst 7130 of it; and after 310 that he will let you go 7971.

 3:21 “I will grant 5414 this 2088 people 5971a favor 2580 in the sight 5869 of the Egyptians 4714; and it shall be that when you go 1980, you will not go 1980 empty-handed 7387.

 3:22 “But every woman 802 shall ask 7592 of her neighbor 7934 and the woman who lives 1481a in her house 1004, articles 3627 of silver 3701 and articles 3627 of gold 2091, and clothing 8071; and you will put 7760 them on your sons 1121 and daughters 1323. Thus you will plunder 5337 the Egyptians 4714.”
