Exodus 34

1 The tables are renewed. 5 The name of the LORD proclaimed. 8 Moses intreateth God to go with them. 10 God maketh a Covenant with them, repeating certain duties of the first table. 28 Moses after forty days in the mount cometh down with the tables. 29 His face shineth, and he covereth it with a vail.

 34:1 Now the LORD 3068 said 559 to Moses 4872, “Cut 6458 out for yourself two 8147 stone 68 tablets 3871 like the former 7223 ones 7223, and I will write 3789 on the tablets 3871 the words 1697 that were on the former 7223 tablets 3871 which 834 you shattered 7665.

 34:2 “So be ready 3559 by morning 1242, and come 5927 up in the morning 1242 to Mount 2022 Sinai 5514, and present 5324 yourself 5324 there 8033 to Me on the top 7218 of the mountain 2022.

 34:3 “No 3808 man 376 is to come 5927 up with you, nor 408 let any 1571 man 376 be seen 7200 anywhere 3605 on the mountain 2022; even 1571 the flocks 6629 and the herds 1241 may not graze 7462a in front 4136 of that mountain 2022.”

 34:4 So he cut 6458 out two 8147 stone 68 tablets 3871 like the former 7223 ones 7223, and Moses 4872 rose 7925 up early 7925 in the morning 1242 and went 5927 up to Mount 2022 Sinai 5514, as the LORD 3068 had commanded 6680 him, and he took 3947 two 8147 stone 68 tablets 3871 in his hand 3027.

 34:5 The LORD 3068 descended 3381 in the cloud 6051 and stood 3320 there 8033 with him as he called 7121 upon the name 8034 of the LORD 3068.

 34:6 Then the LORD 3068 passed 5674a by in front 6440 of him and proclaimed 7121, “The LORD 3068, the LORD 3068 God 410, compassionate 7349 and gracious 2587, slow 750 to anger 639, and abounding 7227a in lovingkindness 2617a and truth 571;

 34:7 who keeps 5341 lovingkindness 2617a for thousands 505, who forgives 5375 iniquity 5771, transgression 6588 and sin 2403a; yet He will by no 3808 means 5352 leave 5352 [the guilty] unpunished 5352, visiting 6485 the iniquity 5771 of fathers 1 on the children 1121 and on the grandchildren 1121 to the third 8029 and fourth 7256 generations.”

 34:8 Moses 4872 made 4116 haste 4116 to bow 6915 low 6915 toward 413 the earth 776 and worship 7812.

 34:9 He said 559, “If 518 now 4994 I have found 4672 favor 2580 in Your sight 5869, O Lord 136, I pray 4994, let the Lord 136 go 1980 along in our midst 7130, even 3588 though 3588 the people 5971a are so obstinate 7186 6203, and pardon 5545 our iniquity 5771 and our sin 2403b, and take 5157 us as Your own possession 5157.”

 34:10 ¶ Then God said 559, “Behold 2009, I am going to make 3772 a covenant 1285. Before 5048 all 3605 your people 5971a I will perform 6213a miracles 6381 which 834 have not been produced 1254a in all 3605 the earth 776 nor 3808 among any 3605 of the nations 1471; and all 3605 the people 5971a among 7130 whom 834 you live will see 7200 the working 4639 of the LORD 3068, for it is a fearful 3372a thing 3372a that I am going to perform 6213a with you.

 34:11 ¶ “Be sure to observe 8104 what 834 I am commanding 6680 you this day 3117: behold 2009, I am going to drive 1644 out the Amorite 567 before 4480 6440 you, and the Canaanite 3669a, the Hittite 2850, the Perizzite 6522, the Hivite 2340 and the Jebusite 2983.

 34:12 “Watch 8104 yourself that you make 3772 no 6435 covenant 1285 with the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776 into which 834 you are going 935, or 6435 it will become 1961 a snare 4170 in your midst 7130.

 34:13 “But [rather], you are to tear 5422 down 5422 their altars 4196 and smash 7665 their [sacred] pillars 4676 and cut 3772 down 3772 their Asherim 842

 34:14 —for you shall not worship 7812 any 312 other 312 god 410, for the LORD 3068, whose name 8034 is Jealous 7067, is a jealous 7067 God 410—

 34:15 otherwise 6435 you might 6435 make 3772 a covenant 1285 with the inhabitants 3427 of the land 776 and they would play 2181 the harlot 2181 with their gods 430 and sacrifice 2076 to their gods 430, and someone might invite 7121 you to eat 398 of his sacrifice 2077,

 34:16 and you might take 3947 some 4480 of his daughters 1323 for your sons 1121, and his daughters 1323 might play 2181 the harlot 2181 with their gods 430 and cause your sons 1121 [also] to play 2181 the harlot 2181 with their gods 430.

 34:17 “You shall make 6213a for yourself no 3808 molten 4541a gods 430.

 34:18 ¶ “You shall observe 8104 the Feast 2282 of Unleavened 4682 Bread 4682. For seven 7651 days 3117 you are to eat 398 unleavened 4682 bread 4682, as I commanded 6680 you, at the appointed 4150 time 4150 in the month 2320 of Abib 24, for in the month 2320 of Abib 24 you came 3318 out of Egypt 4714.

 34:19 ¶ “The first 6363a offspring 6363a from every 3605 womb 7358 belongs to Me, and all 3605 your male 2145 livestock 4735, the first 6363a offspring 6363a from cattle 7794 and sheep 7716.

 34:20 “You shall redeem 6299 with a lamb 7716 the first 6363a offspring 6363a from a donkey 2543; and if 518 you do not redeem 6299 [it], then you shall break 6202 its neck 6202. You shall redeem 6299 all 3605 the firstborn 1060 of your sons 1121. None 3808 shall appear 7200 before 6440 Me empty-handed 7387.

 34:21 ¶ “You shall work 5647 six 8337a days 3117, but on the seventh 7637 day 3117 you shall rest 7673a; [even] during plowing 2758 time 2758 and harvest 7105a you shall rest 7673a.

 34:22 “You shall celebrate 6213a the Feast 2282 of Weeks 7620, [that is], the first 1061 fruits 1061 of the wheat 2406 harvest 7105a, and the Feast 2282 of Ingathering 614 at the turn 8622 of the year 8141.

 34:23 “Three 7969 times 6471 a year 8141 all 3605 your males 2138 are to appear 7200 before 6440 the Lord 113 GOD 3068, the God 430 of Israel 3478.

 34:24 “For I will drive 3423 out nations 1471 before 4480 6440 you and enlarge 7337 your borders 1366, and no 3808 man 376 shall covet 2530 your land 776 when you go 5927 up three 7969 times 6471 a year 8141 to appear 7200 before 6440 the LORD 3068 your God 430.

 34:25 ¶ “You shall not offer 7819 the blood 1818 of My sacrifice 2077 with leavened 2557 bread 2557, nor 3808 is the sacrifice 2077 of the Feast 2282 of the Passover 6453 to be left 3885a over 3885a until morning 1242.

 34:26 ¶ “You shall bring 935 the very first 7225 of the first 1061 fruits 1061 of your soil 127 into the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 your God 430. ¶ “You shall not boil 1310 a young 1423 goat 1423 in its mother’s 517 milk 2461.”

 34:27 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to Moses 4872, “Write 3789 down 3789 these 428 words 1697, for in accordance 5921 6310 with these 428 words 1697 I have made 3772 a covenant 1285 with you and with Israel 3478.”

 34:28 So he was there 8033 with the LORD 3068 forty 705 days 3117 and forty 705 nights 3915; he did not eat 398 bread 3899 or drink 8354 water 4325. And he wrote 3789 on the tablets 3871 the words 1697 of the covenant 1285, the Ten 6235 Commandments 1697.

 34:29 ¶ It came 1961 about when Moses 4872 was coming 3381 down 3381 from Mount 2022 Sinai 5514 (and the two 8147 tablets 3871 of the testimony 5715 [were] in Moses’ 4872 hand 3027 as he was coming 3381 down 3381 from the mountain 2022), that Moses 4872 did not know 3045 that the skin 5785 of his face 6440 shone 7160 because of his speaking 1696 with Him.

 34:30 So when Aaron 175 and all 3605 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 saw 7200 Moses 4872, behold 2009, the skin 5785 of his face 6440 shone 7160, and they were afraid 3372a to come 5066 near 5066 him.

 34:31 Then Moses 4872 called 7121 to them, and Aaron 175 and all 3605 the rulers 5387a in the congregation 5712 returned 7725 to him; and Moses 4872 spoke 1696 to them.

 34:32 Afterward 310 all 3605 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 came 5066 near 5066, and he commanded 6680 them [to do] everything 3605 that the LORD 3068 had spoken 1696 to him on Mount 2022 Sinai 5514.

 34:33 When Moses 4872 had finished 3615 speaking 1696 with them, he put 5414 a veil 4533 over 5921 his face 6440.

 34:34 But whenever Moses 4872 went 935 in before 6440 the LORD 3068 to speak 1696 with Him, he would take 5493 off 5493 the veil 4533 until 5704 he came 3318 out; and whenever he came 3318 out and spoke 1696 to the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 what 834 he had been commanded 6680,

 34:35 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 would see 7200 the face 6440 of Moses 4872, that the skin 5785 of Moses’ 4872 face 6440 shone 7160. So Moses 4872 would replace 7725 the veil 4533 over 5921 his face 6440 until 5704 he went 935 in to speak 1696 with Him.
