Proverbs 19
1 From this chapter to the five and twentieth are sundry observations of moral virtues, and their contrary vices.
19:1
Better 2896a is a poor 7326 man who walks 1980 in his integrity 8537 Than 4480 he who 6141 is perverse 6141 in speech 8193 and is a fool 3684.

Also 1571 it is not good 2896a for a person 5315 to be without 3808 knowledge 1847, And he who hurries 213 his footsteps 7272 errs 2398.

The foolishness 200 of man 120 ruins 5557 his way 1870, And his heart 3820 rages 2196 against 5921 the LORD 3068.
19:4
Wealth 1952 adds 3254 many 7227a friends 7453, But a poor 1800b man 1800b is separated 6504 from his friend 7453.
19:5
A false 8267 witness 5707 will not go 5352 unpunished 5352, And he who tells 6315 lies 3577 will not escape 4422.
19:6
Many 7227a will seek 2470b the favor 6440 of a generous 5081 man 5081, And every 3605 man 3605 is a friend 7453 to him who gives gifts 4976.

All 3605 the brothers 251 of a poor 7326 man 7326 hate 8130 him; How 637 much 637 3588 more 637 do his friends 4828 abandon 7368 him! He pursues 7291 [them with] words 561, [but] they are gone 3808.

He who gets 7069 wisdom 3820 loves 157 his own soul 5315; He who keeps 8104 understanding 8394 will find 4672 good 2896b.

A false 8267 witness 5707 will not go 5352 unpunished 5352, And he who tells 6315 lies 3577 will perish 6.

The king’s 4428 wrath 2197 is like the roaring 5099 of a lion 3715, But his favor 7522 is like dew 2919 on the grass 6212a.

A foolish 3684 son 1121 is destruction 1942 to his father 1, And the contentions 4066 of a wife 802 are a constant 2956 dripping 1812.

House 1004 and wealth 1952 are an inheritance 5159 from fathers 1, But a prudent 7919a wife 802 is from the LORD 3068.

Laziness 6103 casts 5307 into a deep 8639 sleep 8639, And an idle 7423b man 5315 will suffer 7456 hunger 7456.
19:16
He who keeps 8104 the commandment 4687 keeps 8104 his soul 5315, [But] he who is careless 959 of conduct 1870 will die 4191.

One who is gracious 2603a to a poor 1800b man 1800b lends 3867b to the LORD 3068, And He will repay 7999a him for his good 1576 deed 1576.
19:18
Discipline 3256 your son 1121 while 3588 there 3426 is hope 8615b, And do not desire 5375 5315 his death 4191.
19:19
[A man of] great 1419 anger 2534 will bear 5375 the penalty 6066, For if 518 you rescue 5337 [him], you will only have to do 3254 it again 3254.

Listen 8085 to counsel 6098 and accept 6901 discipline 4148, That you may be wise 2449 the rest 319 of your days.

Many 7227a plans 4284 are in a man’s 376 heart 3820, But the counsel 6098 of the LORD 3068 will stand 6965.

What 8378 is desirable 8378 in a man 120 is his kindness 2617a, And [it is] better 2896a to be a poor 7326 man than 4480 a liar 376 3577.

The fear 3374 of the LORD 3068 [leads] to life 2425b, So that one may sleep 3885a satisfied 7649, untouched 1077 6485 by evil 7451b.

The sluggard 6102 buries 2934 his hand 3027 in the dish 6747, [But] will not even 1571 bring 7725 it back 7725 to his mouth 6310.
19:25
Strike 5221 a scoffer 3917b and the naive 6612a may become 6191 shrewd 6191, But reprove 3198 one who has 995 understanding 995 and he will gain 995 knowledge 1847.

He who assaults 7703 [his] father 1 [and] drives 1272 [his] mother 517 away 1272 Is a shameful 954 and disgraceful 2659 son 1121.
19:27
Cease 2308 listening 8085, my son 1121, to discipline 4148, [And you will] stray 7686 from the words 561 of knowledge 1847.

A rascally 1100 witness 5707 makes 3917b a mockery 3917b of justice 4941, And the mouth 6310 of the wicked 7563 spreads 1104 iniquity 205.
