 3:1 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, eat that which thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.

 3:1 ¶ Moreover he saidºº untoº me, Sonº of man,º eatººº thatº thou findest;ºº eatºº thisºº roll,º and goººº speakºº untoº the houseº of Israel.º

 3:2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the roll.

 3:2 So I openedººº my mouth,º and he caused me to eatººº thatº roll.º

 3:3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

 3:3 And he saidºº untoº me, Sonº of man,º cause thy bellyº to eat,ºº and fillºº thy bowelsº withº thisº rollº thatº Iº giveººº thee. Then did I eatºº [it]; and it wasº in my mouthº as honeyº for sweetness.º

 3:4 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

 3:4 ¶ And he saidºº untoº me, Sonº of man,º go,ººº getºº thee untoº the houseº of Israel,º and speakºº with my wordsº untoº them.

 3:5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel;

 3:5 Forº thouº [art] notº sentºº toº a peopleº of a strangeº speechº and of an hardº language,º [but] toº the houseº of Israel;º

 3:6 not to many peoples of a strange speech and of a hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, if I sent thee to them, they would hearken unto thee.

 3:6 Notº toº manyº peopleº of a strangeº speechº and of an hardº language,º whoseº wordsº thou canst notº understand.ºº Surely,ºº had I sentºº thee toº them, theyº would have hearkenedºº untoº thee.

 3:7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are of hard forehead and of a stiff heart.

 3:7 But the houseº of Israelº willºº notº hearkenºº untoº thee; forº they willºº notº hearkenºº untoº me: forº allº the houseº of Israelº [are] impudentºº and hardhearted.ºº

 3:8 Behold, I have made thy face hard against their faces, and thy forehead hard against their foreheads.

 3:8 Behold,º I have madeººº thy faceº strongº againstº their faces,º andº thy foreheadº strongº againstº their foreheads.º

 3:9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

 3:9 As an adamantº harderº than flintºº have I madeºº thy forehead:º fearºº them not,º neitherº be dismayedºº at their looks,ºº thoughº theyº [be] a rebelliousº house.º

 3:10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thy heart, and hear with thine ears.

 3:10 Moreover he saidºº untoº me, Sonº of man,ºº allº my wordsº thatº I shall speakºº untoº thee receiveºº in thine heart,º and hearºº with thine ears.º

 3:11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

 3:11 And go,ººº getºº thee toº them of the captivity,º untoº the childrenº of thy people,º and speakºº untoº them, and tellººº them, Thusº saithºº the Lordº GOD;º whetherº they will hear,ºº or whetherº they will forbear.ºº

 3:12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the voice of a great rushing, [saying], Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place.

 3:12 Then the spiritº took me up,ºº and I heardºº behindº me a voiceº of a greatº rushing,º [saying], Blessedºº [be] the gloryº of the LORDº from his place.ºº

 3:13 And [I heard] the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing.

 3:13 [I heard] also the noiseº of the wingsº of the living creaturesº that touchedºº oneº another,º and the noiseº of the wheelsº over againstº them, and a noiseº of a greatº rushing.º

 3:14 So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

 3:14 So the spiritº lifted me up,ºº and took me away,ºº and I wentººº in bitterness,º in the heatº of my spirit;º but the handº of the LORDº was strongººº uponº me.

 3:15 ¶ Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and to where they dwelt; and I sat there overwhelmed among them seven days.

 3:15 ¶ Then I cameºº toº them of the captivityº at Telabib,º that dweltºº byº the riverº of Chebar,º and I satºº whereº theyº sat,ºº and remainedºº thereº astonishedºº amongº them sevenº days.º

 3:16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

 3:16 And it came to passº at the endºº of sevenº days,º that the wordº of the LORDº cameº untoº me, saying,ºº

 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

 3:17 Sonº of man,º I have madeºº thee a watchmanºº unto the houseº of Israel:º therefore hearºº the wordº at my mouth,ºº and give them warningººº fromº me.

 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

 3:18 When I sayºº unto the wicked,º Thou shalt surelyºº die;ºº and thou givest him not warning,ººº norº speakestºº to warnºº the wickedº from his wickedº way,ºº to save his life;ºº the sameº wickedº [man] shall dieºº in his iniquity;º but his bloodº will I requireºº at thine hand.ºº

 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

 3:19 Yet ifº thouº warnºº the wicked,º and he turnºº notº from his wickedness,ºº nor from his wickedº way,ºº heº shall dieºº in his iniquity;º but thouº hast deliveredººº thy soul.º

 3:20 Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

 3:20 Again,ºº When a righteousº [man] doth turnºº from his righteousness,ºº and commitºº iniquity,º and I layºº a stumblingblockº beforeº him, heº shall die:ºº becauseº thou hast notº given him warning,ºº he shall dieºº in his sin,º and his righteousnessº whichº he hath doneºº shall notº be remembered;ºº but his bloodº will I requireºº at thine hand.ºº

 3:21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.

 3:21 Nevertheless ifº thouº warnºº the righteousº [man], that the righteousº sinºº not,º and heº doth notº sin,ºº he shall surelyºº live,ºº becauseº he is warned;ºº also thouº hast deliveredººº thy soul.º

 3:22 ¶ And the hand of Jehovah was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

 3:22 ¶ And the handº of the LORDº wasº thereº uponº me; and he saidºº untoº me, Arise,ºº go forthºº intoº the plain,º and I will thereº talkºº withº thee.

 3:23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of Jehovah stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

 3:23 Then I arose,ºº and went forthºº intoº the plain:º and, behold,º the gloryº of the LORDº stoodºº there,º as the gloryº whichº I sawºº byº the riverº of Chebar:º and I fellºº onº my face.º

 3:24 Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet; and he spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thy house.

 3:24 Then the spiritº enteredºº into me, and setºº me uponº my feet,º and spakeºº withº me, and saidºº untoº me, Go,ºº shutºº thyselfº withinº thine house.º

 3:25 But thou, son of man, behold, they shall lay bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

 3:25 But thou,º O sonº of man,º behold,º they shall putºº bandsº uponº thee, and shall bindºº thee with them, and thou shalt notº go outºº amongº them:

 3:26 and I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house.

 3:26 And I will make thy tongueº cleaveºº toº the roof of thy mouth,º that thou shalt be dumb,ºº and shalt notº beº to them a reprover:ººº forº theyº [are] a rebelliousº house.º

 3:27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

 3:27 But when I speakºº withº thee, I will openººº thy mouth,º and thou shalt sayºº untoº them, Thusº saithºº the Lordº GOD;º He that heareth,ºº let him hear;ºº and he that forbeareth,º let him forbear:ºº forº theyº [are] a rebelliousº house.º
