 45:1 ¶ Thus saith Jehovah to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him, and I will loose the loins of kings; to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be shut:

 45:1 ¶ Thusº saithºº the LORDº to his anointed,º to Cyrus,º whoseº right handº I have holden,ºº to subdueºº nationsº beforeº him; and I will looseºº the loinsº of kings,º to openºº beforeº him the two leaved gates;º and the gatesº shall notº be shut;ºº

 45:2 I will go before thee, and make the rough places smooth; I will break in pieces the doors of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron;

 45:2 Iº will goººº beforeº thee, and makeºº the crooked placesºº straight:ººººº I will break in piecesºº the gatesº of brass,º and cut in sunderºº the barsº of iron:º

 45:3 and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that it is I, Jehovah, who call thee by thy name, even the God of Israel.

 45:3 And I will giveºº thee the treasuresº of darkness,º and hidden richesº of secret places,º thatº thou mayest knowºº thatº I,º the LORD,º which callºº [thee] by thy name,º [am] the Godº of Israel.º

 45:4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

 45:4 For Jacobº my servant'sº sake,ºº and Israelº mine elect,º I have even calledºº thee by thy name:º I have surnamedºº thee, though thou hast notº knownºº me.

 45:5 ¶ I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;

 45:5 ¶ Iº [am] the LORD,º and [there is] noneº else,º [there is] noº Godº besideº me: I girdedºº thee, though thou hast notº knownºº me:

 45:6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else.

 45:6 Thatº they may knowºº from the risingºº of the sun,º and from the west,ºº thatº [there is] noneº besideº me. Iº [am] the LORD,º and [there is] noneº else.º

 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil. I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things.

 45:7 I formºº the light,º and createºº darkness:º I makeºº peace,º and createºº evil:º Iº the LORDº doºº allº theseº [things].

 45:8 Distil, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, that it may bring forth salvation, and let it cause righteousness to spring up together; I, Jehovah, have created it.

 45:8 Drop down,ºº ye heavens,º from above,ºº and let the skiesº pour downºº righteousness:º let the earthº open,ºº and let them bring forthºº salvation,º and let righteousnessº spring upºº together;º Iº the LORDº have createdºº it.

 45:9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

 45:9 Woeº unto him that strivethºº withº his Maker!ºº [Let] the potsherdº [strive] withº the potsherdsº of the earth.º Shall the clayº sayºº to him that fashionethºº it, Whatº makestºº thou? or thy work,º He hath noº hands?º

 45:10 Woe unto him that saith unto a father, What begettest thou? or to a woman, With what travailest thou?

 45:10 Woeº unto him that saithºº unto [his] father,º Whatº begettestºº thou? or to the woman,º Whatº hast thou brought forth?ºº

 45:11 Thus saith Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: Ask me of the things that are to come; concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands, command ye me.

 45:11 Thusº saithºº the LORD,º the Holy Oneº of Israel,º and his Maker,ºº Askºº me of things to comeºº concerningº my sons,º and concerningº the workº of my handsº commandºº ye me.

 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens; and all their host have I commanded.

 45:12 Iº have madeºº the earth,º and createdºº manº uponº it: I,º [even] my hands,º have stretched outºº the heavens,º and allº their hostº have I commanded.ºº

 45:13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make straight all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward, saith Jehovah of hosts.

 45:13 Iº have raised him upºº in righteousness,º and I will directºº allº his ways:º heº shall buildºº my city,º and he shall let goºº my captives,º notº for priceº norº reward,º saithºº the LORDº of hosts.º

 45:14 Thus saith Jehovah, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall go after thee, in chains they shall come over; and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, [saying], Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.

 45:14 Thusº saithºº the LORD,º The labourº of Egypt,º and merchandiseº of Ethiopiaº and of the Sabeans,º menºº of stature,º shall come overºº untoº thee, and they shall beº thine: they shall comeººº afterº thee; in chainsº they shall come over,ºº and they shall fall downºº untoº thee, they shall make supplicationºº untoº thee, [saying], Surelyº Godº [is] in thee; and [there is] noneº else,º [there is] noº God.º

 45:15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

 45:15 Verilyº thouº [art] a Godº that hidestºº thyself,º O Godº of Israel,º the Saviour.ºº

 45:16 They shall be put to shame, yea, confounded, all of them; they shall go into confusion together that are makers of idols.

 45:16 They shall be ashamed,ºº and alsoº confounded,ºº allº of them: they shall goºº to confusionº togetherº [that are] makersº of idols.º

 45:17 [But] Israel shall be saved by Jehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be put to shame nor confounded world without end.

 45:17 [But] Israelº shall be savedºº in the LORDº with an everlastingº salvation:º ye shall notº be ashamedºº norº confoundedºº worldº without end.ººº

 45:18 For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.

 45:18 Forº thusº saithºº the LORDº that createdºº the heavens;º Godº himselfº that formedºº the earthº and madeºº it; heº hath establishedºº it, he createdºº it notº in vain,º he formedºº it to be inhabited:ºº Iº [am] the LORD;º and [there is] noneº else.º

 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I, Jehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

 45:19 I have notº spokenºº in secret,º in a darkº placeº of the earth:º I saidºº notº unto the seedº of Jacob,º Seekºº ye me in vain:º Iº the LORDº speakºº righteousness,º I declareºº things that are right.º

 45:20 ¶ Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

 45:20 ¶ Assembleºº yourselvesº and come;ºº draw nearºº together,º ye [that are] escapedº of the nations:º they have no knowledgeººº that set upººº the woodº of their graven image,º and prayºº untoº a godº [that] cannotº save.ºº

 45:21 Declare ye, and bring [it] forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I, Jehovah? and there is no God else besides me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none besides me.

 45:21 Tellºº ye, and bring [them] near;ºº yea,º let them take counselºº together:º whoº hath declaredºº thisº from ancient time?ºº [who] hath toldºº it from that time?ºº [have] notº Iº the LORD?º and [there is] noº Godº elseº besideºº me; a justº Godº and a Saviour;ºº [there is] noneº besideº me.

 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.

 45:22 Lookºº untoº me, and be ye saved,ºº allº the endsº of the earth:º forº Iº [am] God,º and [there is] noneº else.º

 45:23 By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

 45:23 I have swornºº by myself, the wordº is gone outºº of my mouthºº [in] righteousness,º and shall notº return,ºº Thatº unto me everyº kneeº shall bow,ºº everyº tongueº shall swear.ºº

 45:24 Only in Jehovah, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against him shall be put to shame.

 45:24 Surely,º shall [one] say,ºº in the LORDº have I righteousnessº and strength:º [even] toº him shall [men] come;ºº and allº that are incensedºº against him shall be ashamed.ºº

 45:25 In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

 45:25 In the LORDº shall allº the seedº of Israelº be justified,ºº and shall glory.ºº
