 56:1 ¶ Thus saith Jehovah, Keep ye justice, and do righteousness; for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

 56:1 ¶ Thusº saithºº the LORD,º Keepºº ye judgment,º and doºº justice:º forº my salvationº [is] nearº to come,ºº and my righteousnessº to be revealed.ºº

 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that holdeth it fast; that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

 56:2 Blessedº [is] the manº [that] doethºº this,º and the sonº of manº [that] layeth holdºº on it; that keepethºº the sabbathº from pollutingººº it, and keepethºº his handº from doingººº anyº evil.º

 56:3 ¶ Neither let the foreigner, that hath joined himself to Jehovah, speak, saying, Jehovah will surely separate me from his people; neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

 56:3 ¶ Neitherº let the sonº of the stranger,º that hath joinedºº himselfº toº the LORD,º speak,ºº saying,ºº The LORDº hath utterlyºº separatedºº me fromºº his people:º neitherº let the eunuchº say,ºº Behold,º Iº [am] a dryº tree.º

 56:4 For thus saith Jehovah of the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and hold fast my covenant:

 56:4 Forº thusº saithºº the LORDº unto the eunuchsº thatº keepººº my sabbaths,º and chooseºº [the things] thatº pleaseºº me, and take holdºº of my covenant;º

 56:5 Unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

 56:5 Even unto them will I giveºº in mine houseº and within my wallsº a placeº and a nameº betterº than of sonsºº and of daughters:ºº I will giveºº them an everlastingº name,º thatº shall notº be cut off.ºº

 56:6 Also the foreigners that join themselves to Jehovah, to minister unto him, and to love the name of Jehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast my covenant;

 56:6 Also the sonsº of the stranger,º that joinºº themselvesº toº the LORD,º to serveºº him, and to loveººº the nameº of the LORD,º to beº his servants,º every oneº that keepethºº the sabbathº from pollutingººº it, and taketh holdºº of my covenant;º

 56:7 even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

 56:7 Even them will I bringºº toº my holyº mountain,º and make them joyfulºº in my houseº of prayer:º their burnt offeringsº and their sacrificesº [shall be] acceptedº uponº mine altar;º forº mine houseº shall be calledºº an houseº of prayerº for allº people.º

 56:8 The Lord Jehovah, who gathereth the outcasts of Israel, saith, Yet will I gather [others] to him, besides his own that are gathered.

 56:8 The Lordº GODº which gatherethºº the outcastsºº of Israelº saith,ºº Yetº will I gatherºº [others] toº him, beside those that are gatheredºº unto him.

 56:9 ¶ All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, [yea], all ye beasts in the forest.

 56:9 ¶ Allº ye beastsº of the field,º comeºº to devour,ºº [yea], allº ye beastsº in the forest.º

 56:10 His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.

 56:10 His watchmenºº [are] blind:º they are allº ignorant,ººº they [are] allº dumbº dogs,º they cannotººº bark;ºº sleeping,ºº lying down,ºº lovingºº to slumber.ºº

 56:11 Yea, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds that cannot understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.

 56:11 Yea, [they are] greedyºº dogsº [which] canºº neverº haveºº enough,º and theyº [are] shepherdsºº [that] cannotºº understand:ºº they allº lookºº to their own way,º every oneº for his gain,º from his quarter.ºº

 56:12 Come ye, [say they], I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to-morrow shall be as this day, [a day] great beyond measure.

 56:12 Comeºº ye, [say they], I will fetchºº wine,º and we will fillºº ourselves with strong drink;º and to morrowº shall beº as thisº day,º [and] muchº moreº abundant.ºº
