 1:1 ¶ PAULOS the called, and the apostle of Jeshu Meshiha by the will of Aloha, and Sosthenis a brother,

 1:1 PAUL, called and sent by Jesus Messiah in the good pleasure of God; and Sosthenes, a brother;

 1:2 to the church of Aloha which is in Kurinthos, the called, and the saints who in Jeshu Meshiha are sanctified; and to all them who invoke the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha in every place, theirs and ours:

 1:2 to the church of God which is at Corinth, to the [people] called and sanctified, who are sanctified in Jesus Messiah; and to all them, in every place, who invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Messiah, their and our [Lord]:

 1:3 Grace be with you and peace from Aloha our Father, and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.

 1:3 Grace [be] with you, and peace; from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus Messiah.

 1:4 I give thanks to Aloha at all times on your behalf for the grace of Aloha which is given to you through Jeshu Meshiha,

 1:4 I thank my God at all times on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given to you in Jesus Messiah;

 1:5 because in every thing you are enriched in him in all utterance and in all knowledge,

 1:5 that in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all discourse, and in all knowledge;

 1:6 according to the testimony of the Meshiha, which is confirmed in you.

 1:6 even as the testimony of Messiah was confirmed among you:

 1:7 That you may not be deficient in one of his gifts, but be expecting the revelation of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha,

 1:7 so that ye are not inferior in any one of his gifts; but are waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Messiah:

 1:8 who will confirm you to the end, that you may be without fault in the day of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.

 1:8 who will confirm you unto the end, so that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Messiah.

 1:9 Faithful is Aloha, by whom you have been called to the fellowship of his Son Jeshu Meshiha our Lord.

 1:9 God is faithful; by whom ye have been called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Messiah, our Lord.

 1:10 But I beseech of you, my brethren, in the name of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, that you have all one doctrine, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfect in one mind and one sentiment.

 1:10 And I beseech you, my Brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Messiah, that to you all there may be one language; and that there may be no divisions among you: but that ye may become perfectly of one mind, and of one way of thinking.

 1:11 For they of the house of Kloë have sent to me concerning you, my brethren, that there are contentions among you.

 1:11 For concerning you, my Brethren, it hath been reported to me by the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

 1:12 For this I say, that there are some of you who say, I am of Paulos; and some who say, I am of Apollo; and some who say, I am of Kipha; and some who say, I am of the Meshiha!

 1:12 And this I state: That one of you saith, I am of Paul; and another saith, I am of Apollos; and another saith, I am of Cephas; and another saith, I am of Messiah.

 1:13 Is the Meshiha divided? Or was Paulos crucified for you? Or in the name of Paulos were you baptized?

 1:13 Now was Messiah divided? Or was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

 1:14 I thank Aloha that no man of you I have baptized, but only Krispos and Gaios;

 1:14 I thank my God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius;

 1:15 lest any man should say, that in my name I have baptized.

 1:15 lest any one should say, that I baptized in my own name.

 1:16 But I baptized also the house of Estepana; beyond (these) I know not that any other man I have baptized.

 1:16 I moreover baptized the household of Stephanas: but further, I know not that I baptized any other.

 1:17 For the Meshiha sent me not to baptize, but to preach; not with the wisdom of words, lest the cross of the Meshiha should be nullified.

 1:17 For Messiah did not send me to baptize, but to preach; not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Messiah should be inefficient.

 1:18 ¶ FOR the doctrine of the cross to those who perish is foolishness, but to us who are saved it is the power of Aloha.

 1:18 For a discourse concerning the cross is, to them who perish, foolishness; but to us who live, it is the energy of God.

 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And I will take away the understanding of the prudent.

 1:19 For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; and I will dissipate the intelligence of the sagacious.

 1:20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Or where is the disputer of this world? Hath not Aloha made foolish the wisdom of this world?

 1:20 Where is the wise? Or where is the scribe? Or where is the disputant of this world? Lo, hath not God showed, that the wisdom of this world is folly?

 1:21 For inasmuch as in the wisdom of Aloha, the world by wisdom hath not known Aloha, it hath pleased Aloha, by the foolishness of preaching, to save them who believe.

 1:21 For in the wisdom of God, because the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of preaching, to quicken them who believe.

 1:22 For the Jihudoyee demand signs, and the Aramoyee require wisdom;

 1:22 Because the Jews ask for signs, and the Gentiles demand wisdom.

 1:23 but we preach the Meshiha crucified, a scandal to the Jihudoyee, and to the Aramoyee foolishness;

 1:23 But we preach Messiah as crucified; [which is] a stumbling-block to the Jews, and foolishness to the Gentiles;

 1:24 but to them who are called, Jihudoyee and Aramoyee, the Meshiha is the power of Aloha, and the wisdom of Aloha.

 1:24 but to them who are called, both Jews and Gentiles, Messiah is the energy of God, and the wisdom of God.

 1:25 For the foolishness of Aloha is wiser than men, and the weakness of Aloha is stronger than men.

 1:25 Because the foolishness of God, is wiser than men; and the feebleness of God, is stronger than men.

 1:26 For you see also your calling, my brethren, that not many among you are wise after the flesh, and not many among you are powerful, and not many among you are of noble birth;

 1:26 For look also at your calling, my Brethren; that not many among you are wise, according to the flesh; and not many among you are mighty, and not many among you are of high birth.

 1:27 but Aloha hath chosen the simple of the world, to shame the wise, and he hath chosen the weak of the world, to shame the mighty,

 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish ones of the world, to shame the wise; and he hath chosen the feeble ones of the world, to shame the mighty;

 1:28 and he hath chosen those of low birth in the world, and the outcasts, and those who are nothing, to bring to nothing those who are;

 1:28 and he hath chosen those of humble birth in the world, and the despised, and them who are nothing, to bring to naught them who are something:

 1:29 that no flesh may boast before him.

 1:29 so that no flesh might, glory before him.

 1:30 But you are of him in Jeshu Meshiha, who hath been made unto us wisdom, of Aloha, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

 1:30 And ye, moreover, are of him in Jesus Messiah; who hath become to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

 1:31 according as it is written, He who boasteth, in the Lord let him boast.

 1:31 according to that which is written: He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
