Πρεσβυτέρους οῦν ἐν ὑμῖν παρακαλῶ ὁ συνπρεσβύτερος καὶ μάρτυς τῶν τοῦ Χριστοῦ παθημάτων, ὁ καὶ τῆς μελλούσης ἀποκαλύπτεσθαι δόξης κοινωνός,
To-more-eldered accordingly in unto-ye I-call-beside-unto, the-one more-eldered-together and a-witness of-the-ones of-the-one of-Anointed of-experiencings-to, the-one and of-the-one of-impending to-be-shrouded-off of-a-recognition en-commoned,

 5:1 Πρεσβυτέρους "To-more-eldered" οῦν "accordingly" ἐν "in" ὑμῖν "unto-ye" παρακαλῶ "I-call-beside-unto," ὁ "the-one" συνπρεσβύτερος "more-eldered-together" καὶ "and" μάρτυς "a-witness" τῶν "of-the-ones" τοῦ "of-the-one" Χριστοῦ "of-Anointed" παθημάτων, "of-experiencings-to," ὁ "the-one" καὶ "and" τῆς "of-the-one" μελλούσης "of-impending" ἀποκαλύπτεσθαι "to-be-shrouded-off" δόξης "of-a-recognition" κοινωνός, "en-commoned,"

ποιμάνατε τὸ ἐν ὑμῖν ποίμνιον τοῦ θεοῦ, μὴ ἀναγκαστῶς ἀλλὰ ἑκουσίως, μηδὲ αἰσχροκερδῶς ἀλλὰ προθύμως,

μηδ' ὡς κατακυριεύοντες τῶν κλήρων ἀλλὰ τύποι γινόμενοι τοῦ ποιμνίου:

 5:3 μηδ' "lest-moreover" ὡς "as" κατακυριεύοντες "authority-belonging-down-of" τῶν "of-the-ones" κλήρων "of-lots," ἀλλὰ "other" τύποι "impressions" γινόμενοι "becoming" τοῦ "of-the-one" ποιμνίου: "of-shepherd-belonged."

καὶ φανερωθέντος τοῦ ἀρχιποίμενος κομιεῖσθε τὸν ἀμαράντινον τῆς δόξης στέφανον.

 5:4 καὶ "And" φανερωθέντος "of-having-been-en-manifested" τοῦ "of-the-one" ἀρχιποίμενος "of-a-first-Shepherd" κομιεῖσθε "ye-shall-tend-to" τὸν "to-the-one" ἀμαράντινον "to-un-extinguish-belonged-to" τῆς "of-the-one" δόξης "of-a-recognition" στέφανον. "to-a-wreath."

Ὁμοίως, νεώτεροι, ὑποτάγητε πρεσβυτέροις. Πάντες δὲ ἀλλήλοις τὴν ταπεινοφροσύνην ἐγκομβώσασθε, ὅτι [ὁ] θεὸς ὑπερηφάνοις ἀντιτάσσεται ταπεινοῖς δὲ δίδωσιν χάριν.

 5:5 Ὁμοίως, "Unto-along-belonged," νεώτεροι, "more-new," ὑποτάγητε "ye-should-have-had-been-arranged-under" πρεσβυτέροις. "unto-more-eldered." Πάντες "All" δὲ "moreover" ἀλλήλοις "unto-one-to-other" τὴν "to-the-one" ταπεινοφροσύνην "to-a-lowed-centeredness" ἐγκομβώσασθε, "ye-should-have-en-knotted-in," ὅτι "to-which-a-one" [ὁ] "[the-one]" θεὸς "a-Deity" ὑπερηφάνοις "unto-manifested-over" ἀντιτάσσεται "it-ever-a-one-arrangeth," ταπεινοῖς "unto-lowed" δὲ "moreover" δίδωσιν "it-giveth" χάριν. Ταπεινώθητε οὖν ὑπὸ τὴν κραταιὰν χεῖρα τοῦ θεοῦ, ἵνα ὑμᾶς ὑψώσῃ ἐν καιρῷ,

 5:6 Ταπεινώθητε "Ye-should-have-been-en-lowed" οὖν "accordingly" ὑπὸ "under" τὴν "to-the-one" κραταιὰν "to-secure-belonged" χεῖρα "to-a-hand" τοῦ "of-the-one" θεοῦ, "of-a-Deity," ἵνα "so" ὑμᾶς "to-ye" ὑψώσῃ "it-might-have-en-overed" ἐν "in" καιρῷ, "unto-a-time,"

πᾶσαν τὴν μέριμναν ὑμῶν ἐπιρίψαντες ἐπ' αὐτόν, ὅτι αὐτῷ μέλει περὶ ὑμῶν.

Νήψατε, γρηγορήσατε. ὁ ἀντίδικος ὑμῶν διάβολος ὡς λέων ὠρυόμενος περιπατεῖ ζητῶν καταπιεῖν:

 5:8 Νήψατε, "Ye-should-have-sobered," γρηγορήσατε. ᾧ ἀντίστητε στερεοὶ τῇ πίστει, εἰδότες τὰ αὐτὰ τῶν παθημάτων τῇ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ ὑμῶν ἀδελφότητι ἐπιτελεῖσθαι.

αὐτῷ τὸ κράτος εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας: ἀμήν.

Διὰ Σιλουανοῦ ὑμῖν τοῦ πιστοῦ ἀδελφοῦ, ὡς λογίζομαι, δι' ὀλίγων ἔγραψα, παρακαλῶν καὶ ἐπιμαρτυρῶν ταύτην εἶναι ἀληθῆ χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ: εἰς ἣν στῆτε.

 5:13 Ἀσπάζεται "It-draweth-along-to" ὑμᾶς "to-ye," ἡ "the-one" ἐν "in" Βαβυλῶνι "unto-a-Babulon" συνεκλεκτὴ "forthed-out-together" καὶ "and" Μάρκος "a-Markos" ὁ "the-one" υἱός "a-son" μου. "of-me."

Ἀσπάσασθε ἀλλήλους ἐν φιλήματι ἀγάπης. Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐν Χριστῷ.
