Then the people of the land took Yehoachaz the son of Yoshiyyah, and made him king in his father's stead in Yerushalaim. |

when he began to reign,°°
and he reigned°°

Yehoachaz [was] twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Yerushalaim. |

Mixrayim
מִצרַיִם°
put him down°°
at
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and condemned°°°
the land°
in an hundred°
talents°
of silver°
and a talent°
of gold.° |

And the king of Mitzrayim put him down at Yerushalaim, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. |

his brother°

his brother,°
and carried°°
him to
Mixrayim

And the king of Mitzrayim made Elyaqim his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalaim, and turned his name to Yehoyaqim. And Nekho took Yehoachaz his brother, and carried him to Mitzrayim. |

אֱלֹהִים.° |

Yehoyaqim [was] twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalaim: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh his Elohim. |

and bound°°
him in fetters,°
to carry°°°

Bävel

Against him came up Nevukhadnetztzar king of Bavel, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Bavel. |

Nevukhadnetztzar also carried of the vessels of the house of Yahweh to Bavel, and put them in his temple at Bavel. |

him, behold,°

Yehoyakhin [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Yerushalaim: and he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh. |

And when the year°
was expired,°

נְבוּכַדנֶאצַּר°
sent,°°
and brought°°
him to
Bävel
בָּבֶל,°
with°
the goodly°
vessels°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and made°°

צִדקִיָּה°
his brother°
king°°
over°
Yæhûđà
יְהוּדָה°
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.° |

And when the year was expired, king Nevukhadnetztzar sent, and brought him to Bavel, with the goodly vessels of the house of Yahweh, and made Tzidqiyyah his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalaim. |

[and] humbled°°
not himself°°
before°°

יִרמְיָה°
the prophet°
[speaking] from the mouth°°

Yähwè
יָהוֶה.° |

And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of Yahweh his Elohim, [and] humbled not himself before Yirmeyah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of Yahweh. |

And he also°
rebelled°°
against king°
Nævûȼađne´xxar
נְבוּכַדנֶאצַּר,°
who°
had made him swear°°
by
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים:°
but he stiffened°°°
his neck,°

his heart°

And he also rebelled against king Nevukhadnetztzar, who had made him swear by Elohim: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto Yahweh Elohim of Yisrael. |

Moreover°

the chief°

and the people,°

the abominations°
of the heathen;°
and polluted°°°
the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
which°
he had hallowed°°

Yærûšälaim

Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of Yahweh which he had hallowed in Yerushalaim. |

And

of their fathers°
sent°°
to°
them by°
his messengers,°
rising up betimes,°°
and sending;°°
because°
he had compassion°°
on°
his people,°
and on°
his dwelling place:° |

And Yahweh Elohim of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place: |

But they mocked°°°
the messengers°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and despised°°
his words,°
and misused°°
his prophets,°
until°
the wrath°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה°
arose°°
against his people,°
till°
[there was] no°
remedy.° |

But they mocked the messengers of Elohim, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against his people, till [there was] no remedy. |

36:17
Therefore he brought°°
upon°
them°
the king°
of the
Caŝdîm
כַּשׂדִּים,°
who slew°°
their young men°
with the sword°
in the house°
of their sanctuary,°
and had no compassion°°°
upon°
young man°
or maiden,°
old man,°
or him that stooped for age:°
he gave°°
[them] all°
into his hand.° |

Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Kasdim, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave [them] all into his hand. |

אֱלֹהִים,°
great°
and small,°
and the treasures°
of the house°
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,°
and the treasures°
of the king,°
and of his princes;°

[these] he brought°°

Bävel
בָּבֶל.° |

And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all [these] he brought to Bavel. |

And they burnt°°°
the house°
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים,°
and brake down°°°
the wall°
of
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,°
and burnt°°
all°
the palaces°
thereof with fire,°
and destroyed°°
all°
the goodly°
vessels°
thereof. |

And they burnt the house of Elohim, and brake down the wall of Yerushalaim, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. |

And them that had escaped°
from°
the sword°
carried he away°°
to°
Bävel
בָּבֶל;°
where they were°
servants°
to him and his sons°
until°
the reign°°
of the kingdom°
of
Päras
פָּרַס:° |

the land°
had enjoyed°°°
her sabbaths:°
[for] as long as°°
she lay desolate°°
she kept sabbath,°°
to fulfil°°
threescore and ten°

Now in the first year of Koresh king of Paras, that the word of Yahweh [spoken] by the mouth of Yirmeyah might be accomplished, Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Koresh king of Paras, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying, |

Thus saith Koresh king of Paras, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Yahweh Elohim of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Yerushalaim, which [is] in Yehudah. Who [is there] among you of all his people? Yahweh his Elohim [be] with him, and let him go up. |
