And when the seventhº

and the childrenº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
[were] in the cities,º
the peopleº
gathered themselves togetherºº
as oneº
manº
toº
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם.º |

3:1 ¶
And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Yisrael [were] in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Yerushalaim. |
|
3:2
Then stood upºº
Yëšûå`
יֵשׁוּעַº
the sonº
of
Yôxäðäk
יוֹצָדָק,º
and his brethrenº
the priests,º
and
Zærubbävel
זְרֻבָּבֶלº
the sonº
of
Šæ´altî´ël
שְׁאַלתִּיאֵל,º
and his brethren,º
and buildedººº
the altarº
of the
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
to offerºº
burnt offeringsº
thereon,º
as [it is] writtenºº
in the lawº
of
Möšè
מֹשֶׁהº
the manº
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |

3:2
Then stood up Yeshua the son of Yotzadaq, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbavel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the Elohim of Yisrael, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as [it is] written in the law of Mosheh the man of Elohim. |
|
3:3
And they setºº
the altarº
uponº
his bases;º
forº
fearº
[was] uponº
them because of the peopleºº
of those countries:º
and they offeredºº
burnt offeringsº
thereonº
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
[even] burnt offeringsº
morningº
and evening.º |

3:3
And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear [was] upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings thereon unto Yahweh, [even] burnt offerings morning and evening. |
|
3:4
They keptºº
alsoº
the feastº
of tabernacles,º
as [it is] written,ºº
and [offered] the dailyº
burnt offeringsº
by number,º
according to the custom,º
as the dutyº
of every dayº
required;º |
|
3:4
They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as [it is] written, and [offered] the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required; |
|
3:5
And afterwardº
[offered] the continualº
burnt offering,º
both of the new moons,º
and of allº
the set feastsº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
that were consecrated,ºº
and of every oneº
that willingly offeredºº
a freewill offeringº
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

3:5
And afterward [offered] the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Yahweh that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto Yahweh. |

From the firstº
dayººº
of the seventhº

beganºº
they to offerºº
burnt offeringsº
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º
But the foundationºº
of the templeº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
was notº
[yet] laid.ºº |

3:6
From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto Yahweh. But the foundation of the temple of Yahweh was not [yet] laid. |

3:7
They gaveºº
moneyº
also unto the masons,ºº
and to the carpenters;º
and meat,º
and drink,º
and oil,º
unto them of
Xîðôn
צִידוֹן,º
and to them of
Xôr
צוֹר,º
to bringºº
cedarº
treesº
fromº
Lævänôn
לְבָנוֹןº
toº
the seaº
of
Yäfô´
יָפוֹא,º
according to the grantº
that they had of
Côreš
כּוֹרֶשׁº
kingº
of
Päras
פָּרַס.º |

3:7
They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Tzidon, and to them of Tzor, to bring cedar trees from Levanon to the sea of Yafo, according to the grant that they had of Koresh king of Paras. |

3:8 ¶
Now in the secondº
yearº
of their comingºº
untoº
the houseº
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִיםº
at
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם,º
in the secondº
month,º
beganºº
Zærubbävel
זְרֻבָּבֶלº
the sonº
of
Šæ´altî´ël
שְׁאַלתִּיאֵל,º
and
Yëšûå`
יֵשׁוּעַº
the sonº
of
Yôxäðäk
יוֹצָדָק,º
and the remnantº
of their brethrenº
the priestsº
and the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם,º
and allº
they that were comeº
outºº
of the captivityºº
unto
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַם;º
and appointedººº
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם,º
from twentyº
yearsº
oldºººº
and upward,º
to setº
forwardººº
the workº
of the houseº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

3:8 ¶
Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of Elohim at Yerushalaim, in the second month, began Zerubbavel the son of Shealtiel, and Yeshua the son of Yotzadaq, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Lewiyyim, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Yerushalaim; and appointed the Lewiyyim, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of Yahweh. |

אֱלֹהִים:º
the sonsº

Çënäðäð
חֵנָדָד,º
[with] their sonsº
and their brethrenº
the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּם.º |

3:9
Then stood Yeshua [with] his sons and his brethren, Qadmiel and his sons, the sons of Yehudah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of Elohim: the sons of Chenadad, [with] their sons and their brethren the Lewiyyim. |
|
3:10
And when the buildersºº
laid the foundationºº
ofº
the templeº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
they setºº
the priestsº
in their apparelºº
with trumpets,º
and the
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
the sonsº
of
´Äsäf
אָסָףº
with cymbals,º
to praiseººº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
afterº
the ordinanceº
of
Däwið
דָּוִדº
kingº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.º |

3:10
And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Lewiyyim the sons of Asaf with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, after the ordinance of Dawid king of Yisrael. |
|
3:11
And they sang together by courseºº
in praisingºº
and giving thanksºº
unto
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º
becauseº
[he is] good,º
forº
his mercyº
[endureth] for everº
towardº
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל.º
And allº
the peopleº
shoutedºº
with a greatº
shout,º
when they praisedºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
becauseº
the foundationºº
of the houseº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
was laid.ºººº |

3:11
And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto Yahweh; because [he is] good, for his mercy [endureth] for ever toward Yisrael. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahweh, because the foundation of the house of Yahweh was laid. |
|
3:12
But manyº
of the priestsºº
and
Læwiyyim
לְוִיִּםº
and chiefº
of the fathers,º
[who were] ancient men,º
thatº
had seenººº
the firstº
house,º
when the foundationºº
of this houseº
was laidºººº
before their eyes,º
weptºº
with a loudº
voice;º
and manyº
shoutedº
aloudºººº
for joy:º |

3:12
But many of the priests and Lewiyyim and chief of the fathers, [who were] ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: |

3:13
So that the peopleº
could notº
discernºº
the noiseº
of the shoutº
of joyº
from the noiseº
of the weepingº
of the people:º
forº
the peopleº
shoutedºº
with a loudº
shout,º
and the noiseº
was heardºº
afar off.ººº |
|
3:13
So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off. |
