evilº

their beds!º
when the morningº
is light,º
they practiseºº
it, becauseº
it isº
in the powerº
of their hand.º |

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand. |

And they covetºº
fields,º
and take [them] by violence;ºº
and houses,º
and take [them] away:ºº
so they oppressºº
a manº
and his house,º
even a manº
and his heritage.º |

And they covet fields, and take [them] by violence; and houses, and take [them] away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. |

Thereforeº
thusº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה;º
Behold,º
againstº
thisº
familyº
do I deviseºº
an evil,º
fromºº
whichº
ye shall notº
removeºº
your necks;º
neitherº
shall ye goººº
haughtily:º
forº
thisº
timeº
[is] evil.º |

Therefore thus saith Yahweh; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time [is] evil. |

2:4 ¶
In thatº
dayº
shall [one] take upºº
a parableº
againstº
you, and lamentºº
with a dolefulº
lamentation,º
[and] say,ºº
We beº
utterlyºº
spoiled:ºº
he hath changedºº
the portionº
of my people:º
howº
hath he removedºº
[it] from me! turning awayººº
he hath dividedºº
our fields.º |

2:4 ¶
In that day shall [one] take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, [and] say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed [it] from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. |

Thereforeº
thou shalt haveº
noneº
that shall castºº
a cordº
by lotº
in the congregationº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה.º |

Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of Yahweh. |

2:6
Prophesyºº
ye not,º
[say they to them that] prophesy:ºº
they shall notº
prophesyºº
to them,º
[that] they shall notº
takeºº
shame.º |

2:6
Prophesy ye not, [say they to them that] prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, [that] they shall not take shame. |

2:7 ¶
O [thou that art] namedºº
the houseº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
is the spiritº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
straitened?ºº
[are] theseº
his doings?º
do notº
my wordsº
do goodºº
toº
him that walkethºº
uprightly?º |

O [thou that art] named the house of Yaaqov, is the spirit of Yahweh straitened? [are] these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? |

Even of lateº
my peopleº
is risen upºº
as an enemy:ºº
ye pull offºº
the robeº
withºº
the garmentº
from them that passºº
byºº
securelyº
as men averseºº
from war.º |

Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. |

The womenº
of my peopleº
have ye cast outºº
from their pleasantº
houses;ºº
fromºº
their childrenº
have ye taken awayºº
my gloryº
for ever.º |

The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. |

Ariseºº
ye, and depart;ººº
forº
thisº
[is] notº
[your] rest:º
becauseº
it is polluted,ºº
it shall destroyºº
[you], even with a soreºº
destruction.º |

Arise ye, and depart; for this [is] not [your] rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy [you], even with a sore destruction. |

Ifº
a manº
walkingºº
in the spiritº
and falsehoodº
do lie,ºº
[saying], I will prophesyºº
unto thee of wineº
and of strong drink;º
he shall even beº
the prophetºº
of thisº
people.º |

If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, [saying], I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. |

2:12 ¶
I will surelyºº
assemble,ºº
O
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
allº
of thee; I will surelyºº
gatherºº
the remnantº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל;º
I will putºº
them togetherº
as the sheepº
of
Boxrà
בָּצרָה,ººº
as the flockº
in the midstº
of their fold:º
they shall make great noiseºº
by reason of [the multitude of] men.ºº |

2:12 ¶
I will surely assemble, O Yaaqov, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Yisrael; I will put them together as the sheep of Botzrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of [the multitude of] men. |

The breakerºº
is come upºº
beforeº
them: they have broken up,ºº
and have passed throughºº
the gate,º
and are gone outºº
by it: and their kingº
shall passºº
beforeº
them, and
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
on the headº
of them. |

2:13
The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and Yahweh on the head of them. |
