And I said,ºº
Hear,ºº
I pray you,º
O headsº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
and ye princesº
of the houseº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל;º
[Is it] notº
for you to knowººº
judgment?º |

3:1 ¶
And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Yaaqov, and ye princes of the house of Yisrael; [Is it] not for you to know judgment? |

3:2
Who hateºº
the good,º
and loveºº
the evil;º
who pluck offºº
their skinº
from offºº
them, and their fleshº
from offºº
their bones;º |
|

Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; |

3:3
Whoº
also eatºº
the fleshº
of my people,º
and flayºº
their skinº
from offºº
them; and they breakºº
their bones,º
and chop them in pieces,ºº
asº
for the pot,º
and as fleshº
withinº
the caldron.º |

Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. |

3:4
Thenº
shall they cryºº
untoº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
but he will notº
hearºº
them: he will even hideºº
his faceº
fromº
them at thatº
time,º
asº
they have behaved themselves illºº
in their doings.º |

Then shall they cry unto Yahweh, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. |
|
3:5 ¶
Thusº
saithºº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
concerningº
the prophetsº
that makeº
my peopleº
err,ºº
that biteºº
with their teeth,º
and cry,ºº
Peace;º
and he thatº
puttethºº
notº
intoº
their mouths,º
they even prepareºº
warº
againstº
him. |

3:5 ¶
Thus saith Yahweh concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. |
|
3:6
Thereforeº
nightº
[shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision;ºº
and it shall be darkººº
unto you, that ye shall not divine;ººº
and the sunº
shall go downºº
overº
the prophets,º
and the dayº
shall be darkºº
overº
them. |
|
3:6
Therefore night [shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. |
|
3:7
Then shall the seersº
be ashamed,ºº
and the divinersºº
confounded:ºº
yea, they shall allº
coverººº
their lips;º
forº
[there is] noº
answerº
of
´Élöhîm
אֱלֹהִים.º |

3:7
Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for [there is] no answer of Elohim. |
|
3:8 ¶
But trulyº
Iº
am fullºº
of powerº
byº
the spiritº
of
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and of judgment,º
and of might,º
to declareºº
unto
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹבº
his transgression,º
and to
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵלº
his sin.º |

3:8 ¶
But truly I am full of power by the spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Yaaqov his transgression, and to Yisrael his sin. |

3:9
Hearºº
this,º
I pray you,º
ye headsº
of the houseº
of
Ya`áköv
יַעֲקֹב,º
and princesº
of the houseº
of
Yi$rä´ël
יִשׂרָאֵל,º
that abhorºº
judgment,º
and pervertºº
allº
equity.º |

3:9
Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Yaaqov, and princes of the house of Yisrael, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. |

3:10
They build upºº
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹןº
with blood,º
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַםº
with iniquity.º |
|
3:10
They build up Tziyyon with blood, and Yerushalaim with iniquity. |
|
3:11
The headsº
thereof judgeºº
for reward,º
and the priestsº
thereof teachºº
for hire,º
and the prophetsº
thereof divineºº
for money:º
yet will they leanºº
uponº
Yähwè
יָהוֶה,º
and say,ºº
[Is] notº
Yähwè
יָהוֶהº
amongº
us? noneº
evilº
can comeºº
uponº
us. |

3:11
The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon Yahweh, and say, [Is] not Yahweh among us? none evil can come upon us. |
|
3:12
Thereforeº
shall
Xiyyôn
צִיּוֹןº
for your sakeº
be plowedºº
[as] a field,º
and
Yærûšälaim
יְרוּשָׁלִַםº
shall becomeº
heaps,º
and the mountainº
of the houseº
as the high placesº
of the forest.º |

3:12
Therefore shall Tziyyon for your sake be plowed [as] a field, and Yerushalaim shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. |
