וַיִּתְקַבְּצוּ יַחְדָּו לְהִלָּחֵם עִם־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וְעִם־יִשְׂרָאֵל פֶּה אֶחָד פ

וְיֹשְׁבֵי גִבְעוֹן שָׁמְעוּ אֵת אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יְהוֹשֻׁעַ לִירִיחוֹ וְלָעָי

וַיַּעֲשׂוּ גַם־הֵמָּה בְּעָרְמָה וַיֵּלְכוּ וַיִּצְטַיָּרוּ וַיִּקְחוּ שַׂקִּים בָּלִים לַחֲמוֹרֵיהֶם וְנֹאדוֹת יַיִן בָּלִים וּמְבֻקָּעִים וּמְצֹרָרִים

וַיֵּלְכוּ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה הַגִּלְגָּל וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו וְאֶל־אִישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ רְחוֹקָה בָּאנוּ וְעַתָּה כִּרְתוּ־לָנוּ בְרִית

 9:6 waYël'khû el-y'hôshuª el-haMacháneh haGil'Gäl waYom'rû ëläyw w'el-iysh yis'räël mëeretz r'chôqäh Bänû w'aTäh Kir'tû-länû v'riyt

 9:6 And they went y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ 3091 unto x413 the camp 4264 at Gilgäl גִּלגָּל, 1537 and said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, and to x413 the men 376 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל, 3478 We be come 935 z8804 from a far y7350 country: 776 x4480 x7350 now x6258 therefore make 3772 z8798 ye a league 1285 with us.

*וַיֹּאמְרוּ [וַיֹּאמֶר] אִישׁ־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־הַחִוִּי אוּלַי בְּקִרְבִּי אַתָּה יוֹשֵׁב וְאֵיךְ *אֶכְרוֹת־ [אֶכְרָת־]לְךָ בְרִית

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ עֲבָדֶיךָ אֲנָחְנוּ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ מִי אַתֶּם וּמֵאַיִן תָּבֹאוּ

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו מֵאֶרֶץ רְחוֹקָה מְאֹד בָּאוּ עֲבָדֶיךָ לְשֵׁם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ כִּי־שָׁמַעְנוּ שָׁמְעוֹ וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה בְּמִצְרָיִם

 9:9 And they said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, From a very y3966 far y7350 country 776 x4480 x3966 x7350 thy servants 5650 are come 935 z8804 because of the name 8034 of Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים: 430 for x3588 we have heard 8085 z8804 the fame 8089 of him, and all x3605 that x834 he did 6213 z8804 in Mixrayim מִצרַיִם, 4714

וְאֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לִשְׁנֵי מַלְכֵי הָאֱמֹרִי אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן לְסִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ חֶשְׁבּוֹן וּלְעוֹג מֶלֶךְ־הַבָּשָׁן אֲשֶׁר בְּעַשְׁתָּרוֹת

 9:10 w'ët Käl-ásher äsäh lish'nëy mal'khëy häémoriy ásher B'ëver haYar'Dën l'šiychôn melekh' chesh'Bôn ûl'ôg melekh'-haBäshän ásher B'ash'Tärôt

 9:10 And all x3605 that x834 he did 6213 z8804 to the two 8147 kings 4428 of the ´Émörîm אֱמֹרִים, 567 that x834 [were] beyond 5676 Yardën יַרדֵּן, 3383 to Sîçôn סִיחוֹן 5511 king 4428 of Çešbôn חֶשׁבּוֹן, 2809 and to `Ôq עוֹג 5747 king 4428 of Bäšän בָּשָׁן, 1316 which x834 [was] at `Aštärôŧ עַשׁתָּרוֹת. 6252

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלֵינוּ זְקֵינֵינוּ וְכָל־יֹשְׁבֵי אַרְצֵנוּ לֵאמֹר קְחוּ בְיֶדְכֶם צֵידָה לַדֶּרֶךְ וּלְכוּ לִקְרָאתָם וַאֲמַרְתֶּם אֲלֵיהֶם עַבְדֵיכֶם אֲנַחְנוּ וְעַתָּה כִּרְתוּ־לָנוּ בְרִית

 9:11 waYom'rû ëlëynû z'qëynëynû w'khäl-yosh'vëy ar'tzënû lëmor q'chû v'yed'khem tzëydäh laDerekh' ûl'khû liq'rätäm waámar'Tem álëyhem av'dëykhem ánach'nû w'aTäh Kir'tû-länû v'riyt

 9:11 Wherefore our elders 2205 and all x3605 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of our country 776 spake 559 z8799 to x413 us, saying, 559 z8800 Take 3947 z8798 victuals 6720 with you 3027 for the journey, 1870 and go y3212 z8798 x1980 to meet 7125 z8800 them, and say 559 z8804 unto x413 them, We x587 [are] your servants: 5650 therefore now x6258 make 3772 z8798 ye a league 1285 with us.

זֶה לַחְמֵנוּ חָם הִצְטַיַּדְנוּ אֹתוֹ מִבָּתֵּינוּ בְּיוֹם צֵאתֵנוּ לָלֶכֶת אֲלֵיכֶם וְעַתָּה הִנֵּה יָבֵשׁ וְהָיָה נִקֻּדִים

 9:12 zeh lach'mënû chäm hitz'ţaYad'nû otô miBäTëynû B'yôm tzëtënû lälekhet álëykhem w'aTäh hiNëh yävësh w'häyäh niQudiym

וְאֵלֶּה נֹאדוֹת הַיַּיִן אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּאנוּ חֲדָשִׁים וְהִנֵּה הִתְבַּקָּעוּ וְאֵלֶּה שַׂלְמוֹתֵינוּ וּנְעָלֵינוּ בָּלוּ מֵרֹב הַדֶּרֶךְ מְאֹד

 9:13 w'ëLeh nodôt haYayin ásher miLënû chádäshiym w'hiNëh hit'BaQäû w'ëLeh sal'môtëynû ûn'älëynû Bälû mërov haDerekh' m'od

 9:13 And these x428 bottles 4997 of wine, 3196 which x834 we filled, 4390 z8765 [were] new; 2319 and, behold, x2009 they be rent: 1234 z8694 and these x428 our garments 8008 and our shoes 5275 are become old 1086 z8804 by reason of the very 3966 long 7230 x4480 journey. 1870

וַיִּקְחוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים מִצֵּידָם וְאֶת־פִּי יְהוָה לֹא שָׁאָלוּ

 9:14 waYiq'chû häánäshiym miTZëydäm w'et-Piy y'hwäh lo shäälû

 9:14 And the men y582 x376 took 3947 z8799 of their victuals, 6718 x4480 and asked 7592 z8804 not x3808 [counsel] at the mouth 6310 of Yähwè יָהוֶה. 3068

וַיַּעַשׂ לָהֶם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ שָׁלוֹם וַיִּכְרֹת לָהֶם בְּרִית לְחַיּוֹתָם וַיִּשָּׁבְעוּ לָהֶם נְשִׂיאֵי הָעֵדָה

 9:15 And Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ 3091 made 6213 z8799 peace 7965 with them, and made y3772 z8799 x6213 a league 1285 with them, to let them live: 2421 z8763 and the princes 5387 of the congregation 5712 sware 7650 z8735 unto them.

וַיְהִי מִקְצֵה שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר־כָּרְתוּ לָהֶם בְּרִית וַיִּשְׁמְעוּ כִּי־קְרֹבִים הֵם אֵלָיו וּבְקִרְבּוֹ הֵם יֹשְׁבִים

 9:16 way'hiy miq'tzëh sh'loshet yämiym achárëy ásher-Kär'tû lähem B'riyt waYish'm'û Kiy-q'roviym hëm ëläyw ûv'qir'Bô hëm yosh'viym

 9:16 ¶ And it came to pass x1961 at the end 7097 x4480 of three 7969 days 3117 after 310 x834 they had made 3772 z8804 a league 1285 with them, that they heard 8085 z8799 that x3588 they x1992 [were] their x413 neighbours, 7138 and [that] they x1992 dwelt 3427 z8802 among 7130 them.

וַיִּסְעוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־עָרֵיהֶם בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וְעָרֵיהֶם גִּבְעוֹן וְהַכְּפִירָה וּבְאֵרוֹת וְקִרְיַת יְעָרִים

 9:17 waYiš'û v'nëy-yis'räël waYävoû el-ärëyhem BaYôm haSH'liyshiy w'ärëyhem Giv'ôn w'haK'fiyräh ûv'ërôt w'qir'yat y'äriym

 9:17 And the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 journeyed, 5265 z8799 and came 935 z8799 unto x413 their cities 5892 on the third 7992 day. 3117 Now their cities 5892 [were] Giv`ôn גִּבעוֹן, 1391 and Cæfîrà כְּפִירָה, 3716 and Bæ´ëröŧ בְּאֵרֹת, 881 and Kiryaŧ Yæ`ärîm קִריַת־יְעָרִים. 7157

וְלֹא הִכּוּם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי־נִשְׁבְּעוּ לָהֶם נְשִׂיאֵי הָעֵדָה בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּלֹּנוּ כָל־הָעֵדָה עַל־הַנְּשִׂיאִים

 9:18 w'lo hiKûm B'nëy yis'räël Kiy-nish'B'û lähem n'siyëy häëdäh Bayhwäh élohëy yis'räël waYiLonû khäl-häëdäh al-haN'siyiym

 9:18 And the children 1121 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל 3478 smote 5221 z8689 them not, x3808 because x3588 the princes 5387 of the congregation 5712 had sworn 7650 z8738 unto them by Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל. 3478 And all x3605 the congregation 5712 murmured 3885 z8735 against x5921 the princes. 5387

וַיֹּאמְרוּ כָל־הַנְּשִׂיאִים אֶל־כָּל־הָעֵדָה אֲנַחְנוּ נִשְׁבַּעְנוּ לָהֶם בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְעַתָּה לֹא נוּכַל לִנְגֹּעַ בָּהֶם

 9:19 waYom'rû khäl-haN'siyiym el-Käl-häëdäh ánach'nû nish'Ba'nû lähem Bayhwäh élohëy yis'räël w'aTäh lo nûkhal lin'Goª Bähem

 9:19 But all x3605 the princes 5387 said 559 z8799 unto x413 all x3605 the congregation, 5712 We x587 have sworn 7650 z8738 unto them by Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵל: 3478 now x6258 therefore we may 3201 z8799 not x3808 touch 5060 z8800 them.

זֹאת נַעֲשֶׂה לָהֶם וְהַחֲיֵה אוֹתָם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עָלֵינוּ קֶצֶף עַל־הַשְּׁבוּעָה אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּעְנוּ לָהֶם

 9:20 zot naáseh lähem w'hacháyëh ôtäm w'lo-yih'yeh älëynû qetzef al-haSH'vûäh ásher-nish'Ba'nû lähem

 9:20 This x2063 we will do 6213 z8799 to them; we will even let them live, 2421 z8687 x853 lest x3808 wrath 7110 be x1961 upon x5921 us, because of x5921 the oath 7621 which x834 we sware 7650 z8738 unto them.

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֲלֵיהֶם הַנְּשִׂיאִים יִחְיוּ וַיִּהְיוּ חֹטְבֵי עֵצִים וְשֹׁאֲבֵי־מַיִם לְכָל־הָעֵדָה כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבְּרוּ לָהֶם הַנְּשִׂיאִים

 9:21 waYom'rû álëyhem haN'siyiym yich'yû waYih'yû choţ'vëy ëtziym w'shoávëy-mayim l'khäl-häëdäh Kaásher DiB'rû lähem haN'siyiym

 9:21 And the princes 5387 said 559 z8799 unto x413 them, Let them live; 2421 z8799 but let them be x1961 hewers 2404 z8802 of wood 6086 and drawers 7579 z8802 of water 4325 unto all x3605 the congregation; 5712 as x834 the princes 5387 had promised 1696 z8765 them.

וַיִּקְרָא לָהֶם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיְדַבֵּר אֲלֵיהֶם לֵאמֹר לָמָּה רִמִּיתֶם אֹתָנוּ לֵאמֹר רְחוֹקִים אֲנַחְנוּ מִכֶּם מְאֹד וְאַתֶּם בְּקִרְבֵּנוּ יֹשְׁבִים

 9:22 waYiq'rä lähem y'hôshuª way'daBër álëyhem lëmor läMäh riMiytem otänû lëmor r'chôqiym ánach'nû miKem m'od w'aTem B'qir'Bënû yosh'viym

 9:22 ¶ And Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ 3091 called 7121 z8799 for them, and he spake 1696 z8762 unto x413 them, saying, 559 z8800 Wherefore x4100 have ye beguiled 7411 z8765 us, saying, 559 z8800 We x587 [are] very 3966 far 7350 from x4480 you; when ye x859 dwell 3427 z8802 among 7130 us?

וְעַתָּה אֲרוּרִים אַתֶּם וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת מִכֶּם עֶבֶד וְחֹטְבֵי עֵצִים וְשֹׁאֲבֵי־מַיִם לְבֵית אֱלֹהָי

 9:23 w'aTäh árûriym aTem w'lo-yiKärët miKem eved w'choţ'vëy ëtziym w'shoávëy-mayim l'vëyt élohäy

 9:23 Now x6258 therefore ye x859 [are] cursed, 779 z8803 and there shall none x3808 of x4480 you be freed 3772 z8735 from being bondmen, 5650 and hewers 2404 z8802 of wood 6086 and drawers 7579 z8802 of water 4325 for the house 1004 of my ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים. 430

וַיַּעֲנוּ אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ וַיֹּאמְרוּ כִּי הֻגֵּד הֻגַּד לַעֲבָדֶיךָ אֵת אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת־מֹשֶׁה עַבְדּוֹ לָתֵת לָכֶם אֶת־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ וּלְהַשְׁמִיד אֶת־כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ מִפְּנֵיכֶם וַנִּירָא מְאֹד לְנַפְשֹׁתֵינוּ מִפְּנֵיכֶם וַנַּעֲשֵׂה אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה

 9:24 waYaánû et-y'hôshuª waYom'rû Kiy huGëd huGad laávädeykhä ët ásher tziûäh y'hwäh éloheykhä et-mosheh av'Dô lätët läkhem et-Käl-hääretz ûl'hash'miyd et-Käl-yosh'vëy hääretz miP'nëykhem waNiyrä m'od l'naf'shotëynû miP'nëykhem waNaásëh et-haDävär haZeh

 9:24 And they answered 6030 z8799 x853 Yæhôšuå` יְהוֹשֻׁעַ, 3091 and said, 559 z8799 Because x3588 it was certainly y5046 z8715 told 5046 z8717 thy servants, 5650 x853 how that x834 Yähwè יָהוֶה 3068 thy ´Élöhîm אֱלֹהִים 430 commanded 6680 z8765 his servant 5650 x853 Möšè מֹשֶׁה 4872 to give 5414 z8800 you all x3605 the land, 776 and to destroy 8045 z8687 x853 all x3605 the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of the land 776 from before 6440 x4480 you, therefore we were sore 3966 afraid 3372 z8799 of our lives 5315 because y6440 of x4480 x6440 you, and have done 6213 z8799 x853 this x2088 thing. 1697

וְעַתָּה הִנְנוּ בְיָדֶךָ כַּטּוֹב וְכַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינֶיךָ לַעֲשׂוֹת לָנוּ עֲשֵׂה

 9:25 w'aTäh hin'nû v'yädekhä KaŢôv w'khaYäshär B'ëyneykhä laásôt länû ásëh

 9:25 And now, x6258 behold, x2009 we y2009 [are] in thine hand: 3027 as it seemeth y5869 good 2896 and right 3477 unto thee x5869 to do 6213 z8800 unto us, do. 6213 z8798

וַיַּעַשׂ לָהֶם כֵּן וַיַּצֵּל אוֹתָם מִיַּד בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלֹא הֲרָגוּם

 9:26 waYaas lähem Kën waYaTZël ôtäm miYad B'nëy-yis'räël w'lo hárägûm

וַיִּתְּנֵם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא חֹטְבֵי עֵצִים וְשֹׁאֲבֵי מַיִם לָעֵדָה וּלְמִזְבַּח יְהוָה עַד־הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה אֶל־הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר יִבְחָר פ
