Genesis 17

1 God reneweth the Covenant. 5 Abram his name is changed in a token of a greater blessing. 10 Circumcision is instituted. 15 Sarai her name is changed, and she is blessed. 16 Isaac is promised. 23 Abraham and Ishmael are circumcised.

 17:1 Now when Abram 87 was ninety-nine 8673 8672 years 8141 old 1121, the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 to Abram 87 and said 559 to him, “I am God 410 Almighty 7706b; Walk 1980 before 6440 Me, and be blameless 8549.

 17:2 “I will establish 5414 My covenant 1285 between 996 Me and you, And I will multiply 7235a you exceedingly 3966.”

 17:3 Abram 87 fell 5307 on his face 6440, and God 430 talked 1696 with him, saying 559,

 17:4 “As for Me, behold 2009, My covenant 1285 is with you, And you will be the father 1 of a multitude 1995 of nations 1471.

 17:5 “No 3808 longer 5750 shall your name 8034 be called 7121 Abram 87, But your name 8034 shall be Abraham 85; For I have made 5414 you the father 1 of a multitude 1995 of nations 1471.

 17:6 “I will make 6509 you exceedingly 3966 fruitful 6509, and I will make 5414 nations 1471 of you, and kings 4428 will come 3318 forth 3318 from you.

 17:7 “I will establish 6965 My covenant 1285 between 996 Me and you and your descendants 2233 after 310 you throughout their generations 1755 for an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285, to be God 430 to you and to your descendants 2233 after 310 you.

 17:8 “I will give 5414 to you and to your descendants 2233 after 310 you, the land 776 of your sojournings 4033, all 3605 the land 776 of Canaan 3667a, for an everlasting 5769 possession 272; and I will be their God 430.”

 17:9 ¶ God 430 said 559 further to Abraham 85, “Now as for you, you shall keep 8104 My covenant 1285, you and your descendants 2233 after 310 you throughout their generations 1755.

 17:10 “This 2088 is My covenant 1285, which 834 you shall keep 8104, between 996 Me and you and your descendants 2233 after 310 you: every 3605 male 2145 among you shall be circumcised 4135.

 17:11 “And you shall be circumcised 4135 in the flesh 1320 of your foreskin 6190, and it shall be the sign 226 of the covenant 1285 between 996 Me and you.

 17:12 “And every 3605 male 2145 among you who is eight 8083 days 3117 old 1121 shall be circumcised 4135 throughout your generations 1755, a [servant] who 3211 is born 3211 in the house 1004 or who 4736 is bought 4736 with money 3701 from any 3605 foreigner 1121 5236, who 834 is not of your descendants 2233.

 17:13 “A [servant] who 3211 is born 3211 in your house 1004 or who 4736 is bought 4736 with your money 3701 shall surely 4135 be circumcised 4135; thus shall My covenant 1285 be in your flesh 1320 for an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285.

 17:14 “But an uncircumcised 6189 male 2145 who 834 is not circumcised 4135 in the flesh 1320 of his foreskin 6190, that person 5315 shall be cut 3772 off 3772 from his people 5971b; he has broken 6565a My covenant 1285.”

 17:15 ¶ Then God 430 said 559 to Abraham 85, “As for Sarai 8297 your wife 802, you shall not call 7121 her name 8034 Sarai 8297, but Sarah 8283 [shall be] her name 8034.

 17:16 “I will bless 1288 her, and indeed 1571 I will give 5414 you a son 1121 by her. Then I will bless 1288 her, and she shall be [a mother of] nations 1471; kings 4428 of peoples 5971a will come 1961 from her.”

 17:17 Then Abraham 85 fell 5307 on his face 6440 and laughed 6711, and said 559 in his heart 3820, “Will a child be born 3205 to a man 1121 one hundred 3967 years 8141 old 1121? And will Sarah 8283, who is ninety 8673 years 8141 old 1323, bear 3205 [a child]?”

 17:18 And Abraham 85 said 559 to God 430, “Oh 3863 that Ishmael 3458 might live 2421a before 6440 You!”

 17:19 But God 430 said 559, “No 61, but Sarah 8283 your wife 802 will bear 3205 you a son 1121, and you shall call 7121 his name 8034 Isaac 3327; and I will establish 6965 My covenant 1285 with him for an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285 for his descendants 2233 after 310 him.

 17:20 “As for Ishmael 3458, I have heard 8085 you; behold 2009, I will bless 1288 him, and will make 6509 him fruitful 6509 and will multiply 7235a him exceedingly 3966. He shall become 3205 the father 3205 of twelve 8147 6240 princes 5387a, and I will make 5414 him a great 1419 nation 1471.

 17:21 “But My covenant 1285 I will establish 6965 with Isaac 3327, whom 834 Sarah 8283 will bear 3205 to you at this 2088 season 4150 next 312 year 8141.”

 17:22 When He finished 3615 talking 1696 with him, God 430 went 5927 up from Abraham 85.

 17:23 ¶ Then Abraham 85 took 3947 Ishmael 3458 his son 1121, and all 3605 [the servants] who 3211 were born 3211 in his house 1004 and all 3605 who 4736 were bought 4736 with his money 3701, every 3605 male 2145 among the men 376 of Abraham’s 85 household 1004, and circumcised 4135 the flesh 1320 of their foreskin 6190 in the very 6106 same 6106 day 3117, as God 430 had said 1696 to him.

 17:24 Now Abraham 85 was ninety-nine 8673 8672 years 8141 old 1121 when he was circumcised 4135 in the flesh 1320 of his foreskin 6190.

 17:25 And Ishmael 3458 his son 1121 was thirteen 7969 6240 years 8141 old 1121 when he was circumcised 4135 in the flesh 1320 of his foreskin 6190.

 17:26 In the very 6106 same 6106 day 3117 Abraham 85 was circumcised 4135, and Ishmael 3458 his son 1121.

 17:27 All 3605 the men 376 of his household 1004, who 3211 were born 3211 in the house 1004 or bought 4736 with money 3701 from a foreigner 1121 5236, were circumcised 4135 with him.
