Genesis 20

1 Abraham sojourneth at Gerar, 2 denieth his wife, and loseth her. 3 Abimelech is reproved for her in a dream. 9 He rebuketh Abraham, 14 restoreth Sarah, 16 and reproveth her. 17 He is healed by Abraham's prayer.

 20:1 Now Abraham 85 journeyed 5265 from there 8033 toward the land 776 of the Negev 5045, and settled 3427 between 996 Kadesh 6946 and Shur 7793; then he sojourned 1481a in Gerar 1642.

 20:2 Abraham 85 said 559 of Sarah 8283 his wife 802, “She is my sister 269.” So Abimelech 40 king 4428 of Gerar 1642 sent 7971 and took 3947 Sarah 8283.

 20:3 But God 430 came 935 to Abimelech 40 in a dream 2472 of the night 3915, and said 559 to him, “Behold 2009, you are a dead 4191 man because 5921 of the woman 802 whom 834 you have taken 3947, for she is married 1167 1166.”

 20:4 Now Abimelech 40 had not come 7126 near 7126 her; and he said 559, “Lord 136, will You slay 2026 a nation 1471, even 1571 [though] blameless 6662?

 20:5 “Did he not himself 1931 say 559 to me, ‘She is my sister 269’? And she herself 1931 said 559, ‘He is my brother 251.’ In the integrity 8537 of my heart 3824 and the innocence 5356 of my hands 3709 I have done 6213a this 2088.”

 20:6 Then God 430 said 559 to him in the dream 2472, “Yes 1571, I know 3045 that in the integrity 8537 of your heart 3824 you have done 6213a this 2088, and I also 1571 kept 2820 you from sinning 2398 against Me; therefore 5921 3651 I did not let 5414 you touch 5060 her.

 20:7 “Now 6258 therefore, restore 7725 the man’s 376 wife 802, for he is a prophet 5030, and he will pray 6419 for you and you will live 2421a. But if 518 you do not restore 7725 [her], know 3045 that you shall surely 4191 die 4191, you and all 3605 who 834 are yours.”

 20:8 ¶ So Abimelech 40 arose 7925 early 7925 in the morning 1242 and called 7121 all 3605 his servants 5650 and told 1696 all 3605 these 428 things 1697 in their hearing 241; and the men 376 were greatly 3966 frightened 3372a.

 20:9 Then Abimelech 40 called 7121 Abraham 85 and said 559 to him, “What 4100 have you done 6213a to us? And how 4100 have I sinned 2398 against you, that you have brought 935 on me and on my kingdom 4467 a great 1419 sin 2401? You have done 6213a to me things 4639 that ought not to be done 6213a.”

 20:10 And Abimelech 40 said 559 to Abraham 85, “What 4100 have you encountered 7200, that you have done 6213a this 2088 thing 1697?”

 20:11 Abraham 85 said 559, “Because 3588 I thought 559, surely 7534 there 369 is no 369 fear 3374 of God 430 in this 2088 place 4725, and they will kill 2026 me because 5921 1697 of my wife 802.

 20:12 “Besides 1571, she actually 546 is my sister 269, the daughter 1323 of my father 1, but not the daughter 1323 of my mother 517, and she became 1961 my wife 802;

 20:13 and it came 1961 about, when 3512c God 430 caused me to wander 8582 from my father’s 1 house 1004, that I said 559 to her, ‘This 2088 is the kindness 2617a which 834 you will show 6213a to me: everywhere 413 3605 4725 834 8033 we go 935, say 559 of me, “He is my brother 251.”’”

 20:14 Abimelech 40 then took 3947 sheep 6629 and oxen 1241 and male 5650 and female 8198 servants 5650 8198, and gave 5414 them to Abraham 85, and restored 7725 his wife 802 Sarah 8283 to him.

 20:15 Abimelech 40 said 559, “Behold 2009, my land 776 is before 6440 you; settle 3427 wherever you please 2896a 5869.”

 20:16 To Sarah 8283 he said 559, “Behold 2009, I have given 5414 your brother 251 a thousand 505 pieces of silver 3701; behold 2009, it is your vindication 3682 before all 3605 who 834 are with you, and before 854 all 3605 men 3605 you are cleared 3198.”

 20:17 Abraham 85 prayed 6419 to God 430, and God 430 healed 7495 Abimelech 40 and his wife 802 and his maids 519, so that they bore 3205 [children].

 20:18 For the LORD 3068 had closed 6113 fast 6113 all 3605 the wombs 7358 of the household 1004 of Abimelech 40 because 5921 1697 of Sarah 8283, Abraham’s 85 wife 802.
