1 The charge of the priests and Levites. 9 The priests' portion. 21 The Levites' portion. 25 The heave offering to the priests out of the Levites' portion.

 18:1 So the LORD 3068 said 559 to Aaron 175, “You and your sons 1121 and your father’s 1 household 1004 with you shall bear 5375 the guilt 5771 in connection with the sanctuary 4720, and you and your sons 1121 with you shall bear 5375 the guilt 5771 in connection with your priesthood 3550.

 18:2 “But bring 7126 with you also 1571 your brothers 251, the tribe 4294 of Levi 3878, the tribe 7626 of your father 1, that they may be joined 3867a with you and serve 8334 you, while you and your sons 1121 with you are before 6440 the tent 168 of the testimony 5715.

 18:3 “And they shall thus attend 8104 to your obligation 4931 and the obligation 4931 of all 3605 the tent 168, but they shall not come 7126 near 7126 to the furnishings 3627 of the sanctuary 6944 and the altar 4196, or 3808 both 1571 they and you will die 4191.

 18:4 “They shall be joined 3867a with you and attend 8104 to the obligations 4931 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150, for all 3605 the service 5656 of the tent 168; but an outsider 2114a may not come 7126 near 7126 you.

 18:5 “So you shall attend 8104 to the obligations 4931 of the sanctuary 6944 and the obligations 4931 of the altar 4196, so that there will no 3808 longer 5750 be wrath 7110a on the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 18:6 “Behold 2009, I Myself 589 have taken 3947 your fellow 251 Levites 3881 from among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478; they are a gift 4979 to you, dedicated 5414 to the LORD 3068, to perform 5647 the service 5656 for the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 18:7 “But you and your sons 1121 with you shall attend 8104 to your priesthood 3550 for everything 3605 concerning 1697 the altar 4196 and inside 4480 1004 the veil 6532, and you are to perform 5647 service 5656. I am giving 5414 you the priesthood 3550 as a bestowed 4979 service 5656, but the outsider 2114a who comes 7131 near 7131 shall be put 4191 to death 4191.”

 18:8 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Aaron 175, “Now behold 2009, I Myself 589 have given 5414 you charge 4931 of My offerings 8641, even all 3605 the holy 6944 gifts of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 I have given 5414 them to you as a portion 4888a and to your sons 1121 as a perpetual 5769 allotment 2706.

 18:9 “This 2088 shall be yours from the most 6944 holy 6944 [gifts reserved] from the fire 784; every 3605 offering 7133a of theirs, even every 3605 grain offering 4503 and every 3605 sin 2403b offering 2403b and every 3605 guilt 817 offering 817, which 834 they shall render 7725 to Me, shall be most 6944 holy 6944 for you and for your sons 1121.

 18:10 “As the most 6944 holy 6944 [gifts] you shall eat 398 it; every 3605 male 2145 shall eat 398 it. It shall be holy 6944 to you.

 18:11 “This 2088 also is yours, the offering 8641 of their gift 4976, even all 3605 the wave 8573 offerings 8573 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478; I have given 5414 them to you and to your sons 1121 and daughters 1323 with you as a perpetual 5769 allotment 2706. Everyone 3605 of your household 1004 who is clean 2889 may eat 398 it.

 18:12 “All 3605 the best 2459 of the fresh 3323 oil 3323 and all 3605 the best 2459 of the fresh 8492 wine 8492 and of the grain 1715, the first 7225 fruits 7225 of those which 834 they give 5414 to the LORD 3068, I give 5414 them to you.

 18:13 “The first 1061 ripe 1061 fruits 1061 of all 3605 that is in their land 776, which 834 they bring 935 to the LORD 3068, shall be yours; everyone 3605 of your household 1004 who is clean 2889 may eat 398 it.

 18:14 “Every 3605 devoted 2764a thing 2764a in Israel 3478 shall be yours.

 18:15 “Every 3605 first 6363a issue 6363a of the womb 7358 of all 3605 flesh 1320, whether man 120 or animal 929, which 834 they offer 7126 to the LORD 3068, shall be yours; nevertheless 389 the firstborn 1060 of man 120 you shall surely 6299 redeem 6299, and the firstborn 1060 of unclean 2931 animals 929 you shall redeem 6299.

 18:16 “As to their redemption 6299 price 6299, from a month 2320 old 1121 you shall redeem 6299 them, by your valuation 6187, five 2568 shekels 8255 in silver 3701, according to the shekel 8255 of the sanctuary 6944, which 1931 is twenty 6242 gerahs 1626.

 18:17 “But the firstborn 1060 of an ox 7794 or 176 the firstborn 1060 of a sheep 3775 or 176 the firstborn 1060 of a goat 5795, you shall not redeem 6299; they are holy 6944. You shall sprinkle 2236b their blood 1818 on the altar 4196 and shall offer 6999 up their fat 2459 in smoke 6999 [as] an offering 801 by fire 801, for a soothing 5207 aroma 7381b to the LORD 3068.

 18:18 “Their meat 1320 shall be yours; it shall be yours like the breast 2373 of a wave 8573 offering 8573 and like the right 3225 thigh 7785.

 18:19 “All 3605 the offerings 8641 of the holy 6944 [gifts], which 834 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 offer 7311 to the LORD 3068, I have given 5414 to you and your sons 1121 and your daughters 1323 with you, as a perpetual 5769 allotment 2706. It is an everlasting 5769 covenant 1285 of salt 4417 before 6440 the LORD 3068 to you and your descendants 2233 with you.”

 18:20 Then the LORD 3068 said 559 to Aaron 175, “You shall have no 3808 inheritance 5157 in their land 776 nor 3808 own 1961 any portion 2506 among 8432 them; I am your portion 2506 and your inheritance 5159 among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.

 18:21 ¶ “To the sons 1121 of Levi 3878, behold 2009, I have given 5414 all 3605 the tithe 4643 in Israel 3478 for an inheritance 5159, in return 2500 for their service 5656 which 834 they perform 5647, the service 5656 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 18:22 “The sons 1121 of Israel 3478 shall not come 7126 near 7126 the tent 168 of meeting 4150 again 5750, or they will bear 5375 sin 2399 and die 4191.

 18:23 “Only the Levites 3881 shall perform 5647 the service 5656 of the tent 168 of meeting 4150, and they shall bear 5375 their iniquity 5771; it shall be a perpetual 5769 statute 2708 throughout your generations 1755, and among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 they shall have 5157 no 3808 inheritance 5159.

 18:24 “For the tithe 4643 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, which 834 they offer 7311 as an offering 8641 to the LORD 3068, I have given 5414 to the Levites 3881 for an inheritance 5159; therefore 5921 3651 I have said 559 concerning them, ‘They shall have 5157 no 3808 inheritance 5159 among 8432 the sons 1121 of Israel 3478.’”

 18:25 ¶ Then the LORD 3068 spoke 1696 to Moses 4872, saying 559,

 18:26 “Moreover, you shall speak 1696 to the Levites 3881 and say 559 to them, ‘When 3588 you take 3947 from the sons 1121 of Israel 3478 the tithe 4643 which 834 I have given 5414 you from them for your inheritance 5159, then you shall present 7311 an offering 8641 from it to the LORD 3068, a tithe 4643 of the tithe 4643.

 18:27 ‘Your offering 8641 shall be reckoned 2803 to you as the grain 1715 from the threshing 1637 floor 1637 or the full 4395 produce 4395 from the wine 3342 vat 3342.

 18:28 ‘So 3651 you shall also 1571 present 7311 an offering 8641 to the LORD 3068 from your tithes 4643, which 834 you receive 3947 from the sons 1121 of Israel 3478; and from it you shall give 5414 the LORD’S 3068 offering 8641 to Aaron 175 the priest 3548.

 18:29 ‘Out of all 3605 your gifts 4979 you shall present 7311 every 3605 offering 8641 due to the LORD 3068, from all 3605 the best 2459 of them, the sacred 4720 part 4720 from them.’

 18:30 “You shall say 559 to them, ‘When you have offered 7311 from it the best 2459 of it, then [the rest] shall be reckoned 2803 to the Levites 3881 as the product 8393 of the threshing 1637 floor 1637, and as the product 8393 of the wine 3342 vat 3342.

 18:31 ‘You may eat 398 it anywhere 3605 4725, you and your households 1004, for it is your compensation 7939 in return 2500 for your service 5656 in the tent 168 of meeting 4150.

 18:32 ‘You will bear 5375 no 3808 sin 2399 by reason 5921 of it when you have offered 7311 the best 2459 of it. But you shall not profane 2490c the sacred 6944 gifts 6944 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, or 3808 you will die 4191.’”
