Numbers 30

1 Vows are not to be broken. 3 The exception of a maid's vow, 6 of a wife's, 9 of a widow's, or her that is divorced.

 30:1 Then Moses 4872 spoke 1696 to the heads 7218 of the tribes 4294 of the sons 1121 of Israel 3478, saying 559, “This 2088 is the word 1697 which 834 the LORD 3068 has commanded 6680.

 30:2 “If 3588 a man 376 makes 5087 a vow 5088 to the LORD 3068, or 176 takes 7650 an oath 7621 to bind 631 himself 5315 with a binding 632 obligation 632, he shall not violate 2490c his word 1697; he shall do 6213a according to all 3605 that proceeds 3318 out of his mouth 6310.

 30:3 ¶ “Also if 3588 a woman 802 makes 5087 a vow 5088 to the LORD 3068, and binds 631 herself by an obligation 632 in her father’s 1 house 1004 in her youth 5271,

 30:4 and her father 1 hears 8085 her vow 5088 and her obligation 632 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315, and her father 1 says 2790b nothing 2790b to her, then all 3605 her vows 5088 shall stand 6965 and every 3605 obligation 632 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315 shall stand 6965.

 30:5 “But if 518 her father 1 should forbid 5106 her on the day 3117 he hears 8085 [of it], none 3605 3808 of her vows 5088 or her obligations 632 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315 shall stand 6965; and the LORD 3068 will forgive 5545 her because 3588 her father 1 had forbidden 5106 her.

 30:6 ¶ “However, if 518 she should marry 1961 376 while under 5921 her vows 5088 or 176 the rash 4008 statement 4008 of her lips 8193 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315,

 30:7 and her husband 376 hears 8085 of it and says 2790b nothing 2790b to her on the day 3117 he hears 8085 [it], then her vows 5088 shall stand 6965 and her obligations 632 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315 shall stand 6965.

 30:8 “But if 518 on the day 3117 her husband 376 hears 8085 [of it], he forbids 5106 her, then he shall annul 6565a her vow 5088 which 834 she is under 5921 and the rash 4008 statement 4008 of her lips 8193 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315; and the LORD 3068 will forgive 5545 her.

 30:9 ¶ “But the vow 5088 of a widow 490 or of a divorced 1644 woman, everything 3605 by which 834 she has bound 631 herself 5315, shall stand 6965 against 5921 her.

 30:10 “However, if 518 she vowed 5087 in her husband’s 376 house 1004, or 176 bound 631 herself 5315 by an obligation 632 with an oath 7621,

 30:11 and her husband 376 heard 8085 [it], but said 2790b nothing 2790b to her [and] did not forbid 5106 her, then all 3605 her vows 5088 shall stand 6965 and every 3605 obligation 632 by which 834 she bound 631 herself 5315 shall stand 6965.

 30:12 “But if 518 her husband 376 indeed 6565a annuls 6565a them on the day 3117 he hears 8085 [them], then whatever 3605 proceeds 4161 out of her lips 8193 concerning her vows 5088 or concerning the obligation 632 of herself 5315 shall not stand 6965; her husband 376 has annulled 6565a them, and the LORD 3068 will forgive 5545 her.

 30:13 ¶ “Every 3605 vow 5088 and every 3605 binding 632 oath 7621 to humble 6031a herself 5315, her husband 376 may confirm 6965 it or her husband 376 may annul 6565a it.

 30:14 “But if 518 her husband 376 indeed 2790b says 2790b nothing 2790b to her from day 3117 to day 3117, then he confirms 6965 all 3605 her vows 5088 or 176 all 3605 her obligations 632 which 834 are on her; he has confirmed 6965 them, because 3588 he said 2790b nothing 2790b to her on the day 3117 he heard 8085 them.

 30:15 “But if 518 he indeed 6565a annuls 6565a them after 310 he has heard 8085 them, then he shall bear 5375 her guilt 5771.”

 30:16 ¶ These 428 are the statutes 2706 which 834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 Moses 4872, [as] between 996 a man 376 and his wife 802, [and as] between 996 a father 1 and his daughter 1323, [while she is] in her youth 5271 in her father’s 1 house 1004.
